This article includes the brief analysis of the problems in area of long-time process loading measuring in service and also explains the processing of the measured strain state without re-calculation the strain into stress in detail and presents the results from the installed in-time monitoring system of the fatigue damage in a real operation of gas pipelines.

The nonlinear chaotic differential/algebraic equation (DAE) has been established to simulate the nonuniform oscillations of the motion of a falling sphere in the non-Newtonian fluid. The DAE is obtained only by learning the experimental data with sparse optimization method. However, the deterministic solution will become increasingly inaccurate for long time approximation of the continuous system. In this paper, we introduce two probabilistic solutions to compute the totally DAE, the Random branch selection iteration (RBSI) and Random switching iteration (RSI). The samples are also taken as the reference trajectory to learn random parameter. The proposed probabilistic solutions can be regarded as the discrete analogues of differential inclusion and switching DAEs, respectively. They have been also compared with the deterministic method, i.e. backward differentiation formula (BDF). The deterministic methods only give limited candidates of all the probability solutions, while the RSI can include all the possible trajectories. The numerical results and statistical information criterion show that RSI can successfully reveal the sustaining instabilities of the motion itself and long time chaotic behavior.

Fire and Rescue Service is an agency to handles fire problems, i.e building fires. Fire and Rescue Service of Pekanbaru is an agency to handles fire problems in Pekanbaru where the service receives information about a fire incident quickly and responsively. Fire incidents can occur anywhere, in any location, both easy or difficult access, but the Firfighter Team must be prepared in every conditions. The problem is that not all fire incidents occur in easy access places by firefighters. The incidents sometimes occur in difficult places to reach and unknown location, firefighter have to use maps to find the location. It will be wasting time to find unknown location and took a long time to arrive. The solution of this problem is to build an android-based application that can be used as a fire incident report, which is connected in one application, so residents can report through an application automatically provides the coordinates of incident. The application of Ant Colony Optimization method in finding fire locations makes it easier to hasten in searching fire locations and can be used by the public in reporting fires to Fire and Rescue Service of Pekanbaru to be processed quickly.


In this paper, the performance of different bio inspired algorithms are compared to obtain optimal path. Performance of different individual algorithms are analyzed for different topological weights. In networking, it is easy to find the route for static systems where once the optimal path is found, the same is used to communicate between two devices for a long time. Research has shown that it is difficult to find optimal paths for networks with dynamically changing network parameters. In this paper the focus is on performance of three fault tolerant heuristic routing algorithms for such networks. The simulation result shows that 60% of the time Ant Colony Optimization method outperformed Genetic and Beehive algorithms

Optical flow has long been a focus of research study in computer vision community. Researchers have established extensive work to solve the optical flow estimation. Among the published works, a notable work using variational energy minimization has beena baseline of optical flow estimation for a long time. Variational optical flow optimization solves an approximate global minimum in a well-defined non-linear Markov Energy formulation. It works by first linearizing the energy model and uses a numerical method specifically successive over-relaxation (SOR) method to solve the resulting linear model. An initialization scheme is required for optical flow field in this iterative optimization method. In the original work, a zero initialization is proposed and it works well on the various environments with photometric and geometric distortion. In this work, we have experimented with different flow field initialization scheme under various environment setting. We found out that variational refinement with a good initial flow estimate using state-of-art optical flow algorithms can further improve its accuracy performance.

The wavelet threshold de-noising is widely used in the field of signal processing. According to the problems that there are heavy workloads and long time-consuming, when the control coefficient of improved threshold de-noising method is tuned parameter with the traditional optimization method, the numerical analysis is used to parameter optimization, and makes the SNR as a performance indicator to find the optimal control parameter. Experimental results show that the numerical analysis is more quickly than the traditional optimization method to find the optimal parameter and carries out a high-quality signal after de-noising; besides, the dichotomy is less iteration times and more quickly than the golden section method in optimization of control parameters.

Pipe flanges are usually welded or screwed to the pipe end and are connected with bolts. This approach is very simple and widely used for a long time, however, it results in high development cost and low productivity and some safety problems at the welding area. In this research, a new approach of forming pipe flange based on cold forging and floating die concept is presented. This innovative approach increases the effectiveness of the material usage and save the time cost compared with conventional welding method. To ensure the dimensional accuracy of the final product, finite element analysis are carried out to simulate the process of cold forging, and orthogonal experiments method are used to investigate the influence of four manufacturing factors and predict the best combination of them. In addition, a real product is manufactured in terms of the best factors predicted by FEA and optimization method to validate the proposed approach. The experimental results show that the approach is effective for the forming of pipe flange, and can be widely used later.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to design a quadrotor with collective morphing using the simultaneous perturbation stochastic approximation (SPSA) optimization algorithm. Design/methodology/approach Quadrotor design is made by using Solidworks drawing program and some mathematical performance relations. Modelling and simulation are performed in Matlab/Simulink program by using the state space model approaches with the parameters mostly taken from Solidworks. Proportional integral derivative (PID) approach is used as control technique. Morphing amount and the best PID coefficients are determined by using SPSA algorithm. Findings By using SPSA algorithm, the amount of morphing and the best PID coefficients are determined, and the quadrotor longitudinal and lateral flights are made most stable via morphing. Research limitations/implications It takes quite a long time to model the quadrotor in Solidworks and Matlab/Simulink with the state space model and using the SPSA algorithm. However, this situation is overcome with the proposed model. Practical implications Optimization with SPSA is very useful in determining the amount of morphing and PID coefficients for quadrotors. Social implications SPSA optimization method is useful in terms of cost, time and practicality. Originality/value It is released to improve performance with morphing, to determine morphing rate with SPSA algorithm and to determine PID coefficients accordingly.

The target and trend of industrial and trade development in Indonesia, particularly related to overseas trade, is broadly influenced by the various challenges time to time, but mainly is influenced by international market and economy.Trade liberation which is marked with the establishment of World Trade Organization (WTO), and followed by the establishment of free trade territory such as APEC and NAFTA has created regional economic integrity. While AFTA which aims to create free trade in ASEAN territory through payable reduction will make manufacture sector in ASEAN more efficient and more competitive in the global market.Though the government and public sectors is loyally commit toward the implementation of AFTA, but in fact it is true to say that some another sectors are not ready yet to implement it. Therefore, in order to supporting this commitment, so industrial and trade sector should compete each other, being more efficient and improving the quality of their product.According to the statements above, the best way in observing AFTA is to make it as apart of long-time process to go into WTO. It is hoped that AFTA will provide the same opportunity for Indonesia to put its products relatively as other ASEAN members before enter global free trade market.

Abstract: Several composite materials are being used in biomedical and dental field with their immense applications to repair and transform various organs in human body. Recent advances suggest that Hydroxyapatite is one of the most reliable and widely used inorganic composite in dentistry. Desirable applications of Hydroxyapatite are achieved by utilizing variety of hydroxyapatite and their composites. This study was conducted to evaluate the compressive & flexural strength. Cylindrical specimens (n=9) for compressive strength & rectangular shaped specimens (n=9) for flexural strength were made according to manufacturer’s recommendations. Dental composite is using quartz, silica, and alumina glass as filler for a long time. Taguchi optimization technique keeps the experimentation within limit giving valid product in the calculating of compressive and flexural strength optimization. The goal of the work is to detect the best combination of composite materials. Keywords: Hydroxyapatite, Compressive Strength, Flexural Strength, Taguchi’s optimization method.
