This research focused on the potential of project-based learning and blended learning, which offer a distinctive cross-point in regard to building 21st-century skills in the classroom. Specifically, this research hypothesized that using the BPBL approach has an effect on perceived self-efficacy, perceived enjoyment, perceived usefulness, behavioral intention of using BPBL, and students’ academic achievement. To achieve the research goal, we employed a questionnaire as the main data collection method and dispensed it to 80 students, all of whom use the BPBL approach. The findings were obtained via a quantitative research method, structural equation modeling (SEM). We found a significant relationship between the BPBL approach and perceived self-efficacy, perceived enjoyment, perceived usefulness, behavioral intention of using BPBL, and students’ academic achievement. Therefore, we believe that the BPBL approach enhances students’ behavioral intention to use and academic achievement in a blended project-based learning approach and allows sharing knowledge, information, and discussions. Thus, it is recommended that students use the BPBL approach for educational purposes, and they should also be encouraged to do so through their learning at university level.

The oxygen extraction fraction (OEF) at maximally vasodilated tissue in patients with chronic cerebrovascular disease was evaluated using positron emission tomography. The vascular responsiveness to changes in PaCO2 was measured by the H215O autoradiographic method. It was correlated with the resting-state OEF, as estimated using the 15O steady-state method. The subjects comprised 15 patients with unilateral or bilateral occlusion and stenosis of the internal carotid artery or middle cerebral artery or moyamoya disease. In hypercapnia, the scattergram between the OEF and the vascular responsiveness to changes in PaCO2 revealed a significant negative correlation in 11 of 19 studies on these patients, and the OEF at the zero cross point of the regression line with a vascular responsiveness of 0 was 0.53 ± 0.08 (n = 11). This OEF in the resting state corresponds to exhaustion of the capacity for vasodilation. The vasodilatory capacity is discussed in relation to the lower limit of autoregulation.

ABSTRACTAn all-printed organic smart pixel is achieved through the combination of an electrochemical transistor and an electrochromic display cell. Smart pixels of this kind are arranged into a cross-point matrix resulting in an active-addressed display. This type of display has been realized on coated fine paper, operates at voltages less than 2 Volts and exhibits good bistability properties. Here we report on the operation characteristics of electrochemical smart pixels in which the ion concentration of the electrolyte has been varied.

Indonesia is often categorized as low food resilient nation, in the sense vulnerable to social unrest and rising global food prices. Where every year the number of requests or local domestic rice continue to increase along with the increasing number of people. This study aims to look at and determine how much influence the price of rice, corn prices and the number of population and GDP of the demand for rice in North Sumatra. Used in measuring and analyzing time series data (time series) and the cross-point (cross section) of the 25 districts / municipalities in the period from 2005 to 2010. Data analysis using fixed effects (fixed effect). The results showed a significant effect between the price of rice, the population and GDP of the demand for rice in North Sumatra. While corn prices do not influence of the demand for rice in North Sumatra. The magnitude of the effect is shown by the coefficient of independent variables, namely: -5.215489 for the variable price of rice, 13.08473 for the population, 4.736669 for the variable GDP.

Abstract In a two-terminal-electrode vertical thyristor, the latch-up and latch-down voltages are decreased when the memory operation temperature of the memory cells increases, resulting in a severe reliability issue (i.e., thermal instability). This study fundamentally solves the thermal instability of a vertical-thyristor by achieving a cross-point memory-cell array using a vertical-thyristor with a structure of vertical n++-emitter, p+-base, n+-base, and p++-emitter. The vertical-thyristor using a Schottky contact metal emitter instead of an n++-Si emitter significantly improves the thermal stability between 293 and 373 K. Particularly, the improvement degree of the thermal stability is increased significantly with the use of the Schottky contact metal work function. Because the thermal instability (i.e., degree of latch-up voltage decrement vs. memory operation temperature) decreases with an increase in the Schottky contact metal work function, the dependency of the forward current density between the Schottky contact metal and p+-Si based on the memory operation temperature reduces with increase in the Schottky contact metal work function. Consequently, a higher Schottky contact metal work function produces a higher degree of improvement in the thermal stability, i.e., W (4.50 eV), Ti (4.33 eV), Ta (4.25 eV), and Al (4.12 eV). Further research on the fabrication process of a Schottky contact metal emitter vertical-thyristor is essential for the fabrication of a 3-D cross-point memory-cell.
