The present experiment was aimed to study the effect of bee pollen on the meat chemical composition of broiler’s Ross 308 breast and thigh muscles. In the experimental groups were added bee pollen in an amount (group E1 – 2 500 mg.kg−1, group E2 – 3 500 mg.kg−1 and E3 – 4 500 mg.kg−1) to the feed mixtures for 42 days. At the end of the study the water content was higher in experimental groups than the control group and on breasts there were a significant difference (P ≤ 0.05) between control groups and experimental groups (E1, E2 and E3) also there was a significant difference (P ≤ 0.05) between the experimental E3 and experimental E1, E2 groups. In protein content, the control group was higher than experimental groups and there no significant differences (P ≥ 0.05) among the groups. In fat content, the control group (2.04%, 13.2%) was higher than experimental groups E1 group (1.59%, except thigh 14.11%), E2 group (1.70%, 13.00%) and E3 group (1.51%, 10.96%) and on breast there were significant differences (P ≤ 0.05) between control group and experimental groups E1, E3 and on thigh there were significant differences (P ≤ 0.05) between experimental E3 and experimental E1, E2 groups. In energy value (kJ.100 g−1) of the breast and thigh muscles in control was higher than experimental groups and on the breasts there were a significant differences (P ≤ 0.05) between control group and experimental groups (E1, E3) and on the thigh there were significant differences (P ≤ 0.05) between experimental E1 and experimental E3 groups. From the study we concluded that the bee pollen has a positive effect of the breast’s meat chemical composition of broiler, which led to increase the water contact and reduce the fat content and energy value, but he had a normal effect on thigh, also bee pollen has normal effect on the protein content of the breast and thigh muscles.

In the experiment were verified the application of probiotic preparation through a water supply for feeding of cock’s hybrids Ross 308, Hubbard JV and Cobb 500 in the chemical composition of the most valuable parts of the carcass. Probiotic was based on the strain Lactobacillus fermentum with containing of 1.109 cfu.g−1 and potentially components of maltodextrin and oligofructose in 1% concentration. Length of feeding period was 42 days. Cocks were fed an ad libitum with the same starter mixture HYD-01 to 21th day and from 22nd to 42nd day of feeding with mixture HYD-02 in powdery form. The average of protein content of breast muscle was highest in Hubbard JV hybrid (23.93 g.100 g−1), lower in Cobb 500 hybrid (23.90 g.100 g−1) and lowest in Ross 308 hybrid (23.73 g.100 g−1), without significant differences (P ≥ 0.05) between hybrids and hybrids groups. Effect of probiotics had increased the protein content (P ≥ 0.05) in breast muscle of Ross 308 and Cobb 500 cocks and at the Hubbard JV only lower doses application during the feeding. The average of fat content in 100 g of breast muscle was lowest in Cobb 500 hybrid (1.09 g), higher in Hubbard JV hybrid (1.28 g) and highest in Ross 308 hybrid (1.35 g). Effect of probiotic to reduce fat content in breast muscle of cocks was at Ross 308 hybrid (1.33 and 1.23 g.100 g−1), Cobb 500 hybrid (0.98 and 1.02 g.100 g−1) and in second experimental group at Hubbard JV hybrid (1.03 g.100 g−1) statistically significant (P ≥ 0.05) in compared with control group, but significantly (P ≤ 0.05) between hybrids Cobb 500 and Hubbard JV in the first test groups. The average of energy value in 100 g of breast muscle was highest in Hubbard JV hybrid (449.24 kJ), lower in Ross 308 hybrid (448.40 kJ) and lowest in Cobb 500 hybrid (441.45 kJ), without significant differences (P ≥ 0.05) between hybrids and hybrids groups. The average of protein content of the femur was highest in Ross 308 hybrid (18.56 g.100 g−1), lower in Cobb 500 hybrid (18.42 g.100 g−1) and lowest in Hubbard JV (17.54 g.100 g−1) without statistical significance (P ≥ 0.05). Significant differences (P ≤ 0.05) of the femur were found at lower dose of probiotics between cock’s hybrids Hubbard JV (16.95 g.100 g−1) and Ross 308 (18.48 g.100 g−1) in the protein content. The average of fat content in the femur was highest in Ross 308 hybrid (10.58 g.100 g−1), lower in Hubbard JV hybrid (10.51 g.100 g−1) and lowest in Cobb 500 hybrid (10.29 g.100 g−1) without significant differences (P ≥ 0.05) between hybrids and hybrids groups. The higher fat and protein content in 100 g of the femur in Ross 308 hybrid was ensured the highest energy value (710.88 kJ), lower in Cobb 500 hybrid (696.40 kJ) and lowest in Hubbard JV hybrid (689.77 kJ) without significant differences (P ≥ 0.05) between hybrids and hybrids groups. The verified probiotic preparation in the final analysis had not negative effect on the chemical composition of the most valuable parts of the carcase cock’s hybrids Ross 308, Hubbard JV and Cobb 500.

ABSTRACT Objective:  To evaluate the proliferation and morphology of human osteoblasts cultured on two brands of mini-implants after 24, 48, and 72 hours, in addition to the chemical composition found on their surface. Materials and Methods:  Two brands of mini-implant (Morelli and Neodent) were evaluated; polystyrene was used as a control group (n  =  3). Osteoblasts were cultured on the surface of sterilized mini-implants in a CO2 incubator at different time periods (24, 48, and 72 hours). Osteoblast proliferation was quantified by scanning electron microscopy using up to 5000× magnification, and cell morphology was analyzed by a single observer. For the chemical analysis, spectroscopy X-ray fluorescence was used to identify and quantify chemical components on the surface of the mini-implants. Results:  Two-way ANOVA showed no significant interaction between the factors studied (P  =  0.686). A Tukey test revealed no significant difference in osteoblast proliferation between the mini-implants at all studied periods; however, a difference in cell proliferation was detected between the Neodent and the control group (P  =  .025). For all groups, time had a direct and positive effect on osteoblast proliferation (P < .001). The significant elements present in both brands of mini-implants were titanium, aluminum, vanadium, and iron. Conclusions:  Osteoblast proliferation was present on the mini-implants studied, which increased over time; however, no significant difference between brands was observed. No difference was seen between the mini-implants evaluated in terms of chemical composition. Cell adhesion after 72 hours suggests that areas of bone remodeling can be achieved, thus initiating the process of mini-implant anchorage.

021/2011. The results of studies of the physical and mechanical properties, chemical composition and safety indicators of the constituent parts (pulp, peel, seeds) of «Torpedo» melon are presented. As a result of a comparative analysis of the chemical composition of the pulp, peel and seeds of the melon, their significant difference was shown. Thus, the fat content in the pulp is 0.26±0.003 g, in the peel - 1.24±0.01 g, in the seeds - 26.21±0.31, the protein content is, respectively, 7.56±0.11; 9.92±0.14 and 21.52±0.32 g. The study of the content of reducing substances and crude fiber showed their high content in the peel, in comparison with the pulp and seeds. It was found that a high content of potassium (934.88±14.02 g) and sodium (270.54±3.78 g) are concentrated in the pulp, a high content of iron (15.12±0.23) - in the peel, and a high phosphorus content (854.72±0.82 g) - in seeds. According to the research results, it has been proven that the safety indicators of the Torpedo melon fully comply with the requirements of TR CU 021/2011.

The purpose of the study is to study the influence of different vitamin-mineral supplement “Tekro” doses on biochemical parameters in blood plasma and liver of rabbits of New Zealand breed. The research methodology is based on research according to generally accepted research methods. Biochemical parameters were studied in rabbits’ organisms at 45, 60, 75 and 90 days of rearing with feeding of different doses of vitamin-mineral supplement “Tekro”, namely 3 %, 3.5 %, 4 %. The academic novelty is that nowadays the problem of the effect of different vitamin-mineral supplement “Tekro” doses on biochemical parameters in the blood and liver of rabbits has not been studied. Analyzing the indicators of the total protein content in the blood plasma of rabbits of the experimental groups and the control one for 90 days, it was noted that there was no significant difference in the indicators. In the liver of rabbits of the age from 45 to 90 days there was a tendency to increase the protein content due to the effects on the body of various doses of vitamin and mineral supplement “Tekro”. It has been established the positive effect of vitamin-mineral supplement “Tekro” on ALT activity of rabbits in experimental groups. At the age of 75 days, significantly higher ALT activity was recorded in rabbits of the 3rd experimental group by 35.8 % compared to animals in the control group.

The study was to conduct to evaluate the chemical composition and nutritive values of feedstuffs (forages and concentrate mixtures) used for dairy goats nutrition in Vojvodina. Samples were collected from six farms, including one organic farm. The results showed that the relative feed values of analyzed forages were in the range of good, medium to lower quality. Average protein content from lowest to highest for investigated forages was: corn silage (Zea Mays) (65.37-82.57g kg??DM), alfalfa haylage (Medicago sativa L.) (159.99-184.17g kg??DM), pasture (185.30g kg?? DM), and alfalfa hay (Medicago sativa L.) (167.48-203.60g kg??DM). The non-fibre carbohydrates and protein content most varied in organic hay samples (cv: 29.25% and 19.09%, respectively). Generally, feedstuffs used in organic nutrition, including organic concentrate, were of lower nutritional quality and moreover contained higher amounts of crude fibre and lignin. Especially, a high source of variation was observed in investigated concentrate mixtures for the crude protein content (p<0.0001), ranged from 135.32 to 209.87g kg??DM. Corn silages also varied substantially in their chemical composition and significant difference (p<0.05) was observed in regard to acid detergent fibre (ADF) and lignin content (ranged: ADF: 242.20-319.24g kg??DM; ADL: 27.98-52.54g kg??DM, respectively). Furthermore, pasture contained the most soluble materials during May and June and their content was related inversely to crude fibre amount. This survey highlights that investigated farms still pay insufficient attention to the quality of the feedstuff. For the development of intensive goat farming, greater emphasis should be placed on using higher quality feedstuffs, as well, standards for feed quality must be considered and established.

SUMMARYTwo experiments were conducted to compare the milk-producing value of dried forages in the form of cobs and pellets as replacements for a standard dairy concentrate. Four levels (0·33, 0·44, 0·55 and 0·66 kg/kg milk) of dried forage or standard dairy concentrate were offered in addition to a basal ration of 6 kg hay and 2 kg standard dairy concentrate. In both experiments the rate of eating by the cows of cobs was significantly slower (P<0·05) than that of pellets. No significant difference was found between the cobs and pellets in either experiment in their value for milk production. In Experiment 2 the standard dairy concentrate had a non-significantly higher (P>0·05) milk-producing value than the dried lucerne. Level of feeding had a significant positive effect on the milk yield (P< 0·001) of cows offered the dried grass and lucerne and on the milk solids- not-fat content (P<0·05) and live weight (P<0·01) of cows offered the dried grass, lucerne and standard dairy concentrate.

This study examined the effect of descriptive norm messaging information on the relationship between haptic input and balance control. Participants were randomly assigned to either a message group where they balanced with haptic input after receiving a descriptive norm message about the positive effect of haptic input or a control group. Findings from an analysis of covariance revealed a significant difference between the two groups. Those in the descriptive norm message group had better balance control than those in the control group. These findings suggest that efforts designed to improve balance control through haptic input may be enhanced through normative messaging.

in recent years, great attention has been paid to the quality of eaten meat and its products. There have been launched a lot of promotional campaigns aimed at providing opportunities for the consumption of traditional products. Based on the experiment, a significantly higher protein content was found in sausages produced by large producers (24.73 ± 1.98%). The fat content was significantly higher in traditional ham (16.25 ± 14.47%), compared with local ham (4.38 ± 2.26%) and the mass (9.29 ± 5.25%). The samples of traditional and local ham had a significantly higher salt content (3.31 ± 0.72 and 2.90 ± 0.54%, respectively). No dye compounds were detected in any of the tested samples. There were no statistically significant differences in hydroxyproline and l‑glutamic acid content between traditional and conventional samples of meat products. Analysis of nitrate (V and III) showed a statistically significant difference in the average contents of these compounds. Significantly higher levels of nitrates were revealed only in traditional ham samples (12.60 ± 8.08 mg NaNO(V)/kg and 17.53 ± 27.91 mg NaNO(III)/kg of the product, respectively), wherein there was a large variation in the content of these compounds in the samples.

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of diet supplementation with propolis and/or bee pollen on the performance indicators of broilers. This experimental study was conducted on 200 Ross 308 broilers equally distributed by sex and divided into five groups. Throughout the whole study the control group of chickens was fed feed mixture. Feed mixture fed to the experimental groups of chickens contained additives (propolis and/or bee pollen, each supplement separately or in combination in a certain proportion). The average values of broilers body weight were significantly higher on 7th (p=0.001), 14th, 21st, 28th, 35th (p<0.001) and 42nd (p=0.002) day of feeding in the experimental groups of broilers compared to the control group. The average values of broilers weight gain were significantly higher on 1st (p<0.001), 2nd (p=0.002), 3rd (p<0.001), 4th (p=0.029) and 5th (p=0.009) week of feeding in the experimental groups of broilers compared to the control group. This study has undoubtedly shown that propolis and bee pollen have significant positive effect on performance indicators of broilers.

Abstract The aim of our study was to investigate how the collection period affects and influences the production, chemical composition, and size of bee pollen loads (0.5, 1.0, 2.0, greater than 2.0 mm). The results showed there was a predominance of pollen loads with a diameter greater than 2.0 mm in all the production seasons. For all the seasons, there were no differences in protein content between the particle sizes. But when comparing 0.5 mm during the different periods, there were significant differences; the highest value was found during the winter (24.39 ± 3.7%). As far as lipids and crude fiber are concerned, we obtained differences between the same granulometry sizes for the spring and summer seasons. As for ashes, the results showed differences between different particle sizes for the summer and autumn seasons. Our results have shown that regardless of pollen particle size, its quality was not altered, suggesting that smaller loads can be commercially used by containing nutritional quality or else be used by beekeepers as a supplement during periods of food scarcity.
