We report an improved, nearly closed, high-quality draft genome of the Candida albicans CHN1 strain (ATCC MYA-4779), a human isolate, using Illumina and Nanopore sequencing. Covering six complete and two partial nuclear chromosomes along with a partial mitochondrial genome, this assembly is 14,787,852 bases in size, with 5,935 genes.

ABSTRACT The recently described species Myxacorys almedinensis and two other cyanobacteria were isolated from the limestone walls of the Old Cathedral of Coimbra, Portugal (UNESCO World Heritage Site). The high-quality genome sequences presented here will be essential for characterization purposes and description of the novel taxa.

ABSTRACT Aspergillus tubingensis WU-2223L, belonging to the section Nigri, is a hyperproducer of citric acid. Here, we present the high-quality draft (35 Mb) and mitochondrial (32.4 kb) genome sequences of this strain, which consisted of 16 scaffolds in total. The draft and mitochondrial genome sequences comprised 11,493 and 15 genes, respectively.

Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense is the causal agent of banana Fusarium wilt, also known as Panama disease. Here, we present a high-quality genome sequence of F. oxysporum f. sp. cubense strain 160527. The genome assembly is composed of 12 contigs with a total assembly length of 51,139,495 bp (N 50 contig length, 4,884,632 bp).

ABSTRACT Here, we report a complete genome sequence for Acinetobacter baumannii strain ATCC 17961, with plasmid sequences, and a high-quality (>98% complete) build for A. baumannii strain AB09-003. These genome sequences were generated by combining short-read Illumina and long-read Oxford Nanopore MinION sequencing data using the Unicycler hybrid assembly pipeline.

Clostridium limosum can be found in soil and the intestinal tract of animals. In 2014, C. limosum was isolated from a suspected blackleg outbreak in cattle in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. We present a complete genome sequence of a C. limosum strain represented by a circular chromosome and three plasmids.

Pseudomonas fluorescens is a Gram-negative bacterium with versatile metabolic functions and potential industrial uses. We sequenced P. fluorescens strain ATCC 13525 with the goal of determining virulence factors and antibiotic resistance genes to predict the potential impacts on human and environmental health in the event of exposure.

Here we report the genome assembly, using a hybrid approach with Illumina and Nanopore sequencing, of a pathogenic Staphylococcus pseudintermedius strain isolated from a case of canine otitis. Genome assembly confirmed the antimicrobial resistance profile (disk diffusion testing) with specific genes and mutations.

ABSTRACT Actinomyces sp. strain Chiba101, isolated from an arthritic leg joint of a pig raised in Japan, is a bacterium closely related to Actinomyces denticolens. Here, we deciphered the complete genome sequence of Actinomyces sp. Chiba101 and the high-quality draft genome sequence of A. denticolens DSM 20671T.
