ABSTRACT We describe here the draft genome sequence and basic characteristics of Escherichia coli isolate INF13/18/A, which was isolated from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Hospital. This isolate was identified as an extended-spectrum β-lactamase-producing Escherichia coli strain harboring the antimicrobial resistance genes TEM, CTX-M-1, and CTX-M-9.

ABSTRACT A colistin-resistant mcr-1 -carrying Escherichia coli strain, RC2-007, was isolated from a swine farm in Mexico. This extraintestinal and uropathogenic strain of E. coli belongs to serotype O89:H9 and sequence type 744. Assembly and annotation resulted in a 4.9-Mb draft genome that revealed the presence of plasmid-mediated mcr-1 -IS ApI1 genes as part of a prophage.

ABSTRACT Here, we present the draft genome sequences of nine multidrug-resistant Escherichia coli strains isolated from humans (n = 6) and chicken carcasses (n = 3) from Lagos, Nigeria, in 2013. Multiple extended-spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL) genes were identified in these isolates.

ABSTRACT The genome sequence of a uropathogenic Escherichia coli sequence type 420 strain isolated from a patient with urinary tract infection in northern California is described here. The draft genome sequence includes a 4.8-Mb chromosome, accompanied by a 114-kb plasmid containing IncFIB/IncFII/Col156 and a 35-kb plasmid containing IncN3.

ABSTRACT We report here the draft genome sequence of the first isolated NDM-4-producing Escherichia coli strain, isolated from sewage water at a North Indian hospital. The genome has an assembly size of 5,076,053 bp, arranged in 129 contigs, with 5,271 genes and a G+C content of 50.47%.

ABSTRACTAn enteric bacterium,Escherichia coliW26 (KACC 16630), was isolated from feces from a healthy cow in South Korea. Here, we report the draft genome sequence of the isolate, which is closely affiliated with commensal strains belonging toE. coliphylogroup B1.

We hereby present the 3.7-Mb draft genome sequence of Plesiomonas shigelloides strain FM82, isolated from a tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) reared in a fish farm in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. P. shigelloides strain FM82 carries antimicrobial resistance, biofilm, and CRISPR-related genes.

Escherichia coli P50 is a canine uropathogenic isolate sampled in the Wellington region of New Zealand. We report the draft genome sequence of this isolate, which contains characteristic virulence genes for urinary tract infections and is predicted to be capable of causing human infections.
