In this paper we study the vulnerability management dimension in smart city initiatives. As many cities across the globe invest a considerable amount of effort, resources and budget to modernise their infrastructure by deploying a series of technologies such as 5G, Software Defined Networks and IoT, we conduct an empirical analysis of their current exposure to existing vulnerabilities. We use an updated vulnerability dataset which is further enriched by quantitative research data from independent studies evaluating the maturity and accomplishments of cities in their journey to become smart. We particularly focus on cities that aspire to implement a (data-driven) Circular Economy agenda which we consider to potentially yield the highest risk from a vulnerabilities exposure perspective. Findings show that although a smarter city is attributed with a higher vulnerability exposure, investments on technology and human capital moderate this exposure in a way that it can be reduced.

Transformation Leadership, Motivation and Satisfiction are the three factors of a few relatively large factors suspected to influence Performance on the PT. Adya Tours. These research aimed to determine the effect of Transformation Leadership, Motivation and Satisfiction toward Performance on the PT. Adya Tours.Research conducted at the PT. Adya Tours by taking 71 employees as the research sample, calculated using the Slovin formula of the total population of 240 employees  at  the  margin  of  error  of  10%.  Data  were collected by questionnaire instruments covered by the five rating scale from strongly disagree to strongly agree. Quantitative research was conducted by describing and analyzing research data. The multiple linier regression analysis and multiple determination coeficient are the statistic approach to data analysis. The study produced four major findings consistent with the hypothesis put forward, that are: 1) Transformation Leadership has a significant effect on Performance  in  a  positive  direction;  2)  Motivation  has  a  significant  effect  on Performance in a positive direction; 3) Satisfiction has a significant effect on Performance in a positive direction; 4) Transformation Leadership, Motivation and Satisfiction simultaneously influence 92.70% Performance variability.Base on the research finding, in order to increase Performance can be done by increasing Transformation Leadership, Motivation and Satisfiction. Kata kunci:Transformation Leadership, Motivation, Satisfaction, Performance

AbstractThis study was conducted to the influents of the Islamic symbolisms toward the decision of consumption buying of the food products. This is a quantitative research. A survey was also involved in this research. Data are also collected through questionnaire to gain an accurate information. Data analysis technique used was a simple regression. The research findings show that Islamic symbolisms have significant influents toward decision to buy food products. That is, t value of p significant is < 0,005 (0,000 < 0, 05) while R square is 0,273 or 27,3 %. In conclusion the influents of Islamic symbols toward the decision on buying have influents as of 27, 3 %. Keywords: Islamic Symbolism, Decision on buying, food products.

AbstractIn this paper, we study the effect a CEO’s international work experience has on his or her compensation. By combining human capital theory with a resource dependence and a resource-based perspective, we argue that international work experience translates into higher pay. We also suggest that international work experience comprises several dimensions that affect CEO compensation: duration, timing and breadth of stays abroad. With data from Europe’s largest stock market firms, we provide evidence that the longer the international work experiences and the more numerous they are, the higher a CEO’s compensation. While, based on our theoretical arguments, we expect to find that later international work experiences pay off for CEOs, our empirical analysis shows that earlier international work experiences are particularly valuable in terms of compensation. In addition, our data support the argument that maturity allows a CEO to take advantage of the skills, knowledge and competencies obtained via international experience—and to receive a higher payoff. With our study, we improve the understanding of how different facets of a CEO’s background shape executive remuneration.

The Canadian Smart Cities Challenge enabled municipalities across the country to reflect on how smart city technology can be used to solve their unique community challenges, embrace the possibility of impactful projects, create collaborations, and create a suite of digital tools. This paper analyses whether governments can be catalysts in adopting circular economy thinking in the age of digital innovation. In reviewing the SCC applications, five proposal submissions were analysed in depth against a circular economy framework. Recommendations for further development in smart city thinking centre around future Smart Cities Challenges, and building circular assumptions into the challenge questions, whereby ensuring circular principles are a priority for municipalities as they continue to grow and adapt to smart city technological advances. Key words: Smart Cities Challenge, circular economy, smart city technology, innovation, sustainable, reuse, sharing, remanufacturing and repurposing
