Aim of the Study. Analyzing velocimetric (umbilical artery, UA; ductus venosus, DV; middle cerebral artery, MCA) and computerized cardiotocographic (cCTG) (fetal heart rate, FHR; short term variability, STV; approximate entropy, ApEn) parameters in intrauterine growth restriction, IUGR, in order to detect early signs of fetal compromise.Population Study. 375 pregnant women assisted from the 28th week of amenorrhea to delivery and monitored through cCTG and Doppler ultrasound investigation. The patients were divided into three groups according to the age of gestation at the time of delivery, before the 34th week, from 34th to 37th week, and after the 37th week. Data were analyzed in relation to the days before delivery and according to the physiology or pathology of velocimetry. Statistical analysis was performed through thet-test, chi-square test, and Pearson correlation test(P<0.05). Our results evidenced an earlier alteration of UA, DV, and MCA. The analysis between cCTG and velocimetric parameters (the last distinguished into physiological and pathological values) suggests a possible relation between cCTG alterations and Doppler ones. The present study emphasizes the need for an antenatal testing in IUGR fetuses using multiple surveillance modalities to enhance prediction of neonatal outcome.

ABSTRACTStress can be perceived as a response to threats situations (either physical or psychological) caused by individual inability  to overcome existing threats within his/her environment. Job stress is the result of interaction between an individual (i.e. a worker) and his/her occupation. The objective of this study to identify the factor affecting tojob stress by the divers at PT. X. This study applied cross-sectional design conducted by observing the divers at PT. X. The population of this study was all divers working at PT. X. Data was analyzed by Spearman Correlation Test, Pearson Correlation Test, and Chi-square Test. The results of this study is strong correlation between personality type and job stress (as indicated by correlation coefficient 0.645). The divers’ age (correlation coefficient -0.283), educational level (correlation coefficient -0.220), years of service/experience (correlation coefficient -0.158), length of diving session (correlation coefficient 0.083), and threats of marine animal attack (correlation coefficient 0.156) had lower correlation with job stress. While the divers residence might also affect their job stress (as indicated by correlation coefficient 0.539).Keywords: job stress, diver

Background: Low birth weight (LBW) is one of the children's health indicators. Based on the health profile of East Java province in 2017, the prevalence of LBW increased from 3.6% in 2016 to 3.8%. Besides increasing the prevalence of LBW, there was a decrease in Fe3 tablet coverage. In 2016 Fe3 tablets decreased by 88.2% and decreased in 2017 to 87.4%. A decrease in Fe3 tablet coverage is likely to cause a high prevalence of LBW.Objective: This study aimed to know the relationship of Fe3 tablets with the prevalence of LBW in East Java province in 2017. Methods: The type of this research was quantitative research using secondary data on the health profile of East Java province in 2017. The observed variables was Fe3 tablet coverage and LBW prevalence. Data analysis using a Pearson correlation and Chi-square test.Result: The regency/city included in the category of low Fe3 tablet coverage was 55.3% and as many as 21.1% regency/city with LBW prevalence were included in the category of not public health problems. Pearson correlation test results (p-value=0.270) and Chi-square test (p-value=0.206) showed there was no relationship between the coverage of Fe3 tablets with prevalence of LBW in East Java Province in 2017.Conclusion: The regency/city that has low Fe3 tablet coverage doesn’t necessarily have a high LBW prevalence. Further research is needed to find out other factors related to the high prevalence of LBW in East Java Province in 2017.ABSTRAKLatar Belakang: Berat badan lahir rendah (BBLR) merupakan salah satu indikator kesehatan anak. Background: A right-sided umbilical cord twist is associated with the presence of a single umbilical artery, congenital malformations and placenta praevia. Methods: It was an observational study. Data was collected from 137 umbilical cords, all from live births and their patient records. The gestational ages ranged from 28 weeks to 41 weeks. The umbilical cords were categorized into right or left, based on the direction of twist. The independent sample T test and the Chi square test were used to analyze the differences between groups. Results: The prevalence of left twist was 84%. Right twist was significantly associated with a larger Hyrtl’s anastomosis (p=0.029) and gestational diabetes (p=0.027). Conclusion: Two previously unreported associations with right twist of the umbilical cord, gestational diabetes and an increase in the diameter of Hyrtl’s anastomosis, were noted in the present study.

Objective: Brucellosis is a zoonotic disease seen widely around the world. Although many aspects and treatment of this disease is well known, peritoneal involvement and ascites is not well established so far. Material and Methods: This study retrospectively enrolled 346 adult patients (aged >17 years) with acute Brucellosis attending Hepatology Clinic, Van Yuzuncu Yil University, between April 2013 and May 2016. Characteristics of those with and without ascites were analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficients and Chi-Square test in SPSS software system. Results: Of the 346 cases, 20 (5, 7%) had ascites. Those with ascites had significantly higher transaminase, cholestatic enzyme and amylase levels compared to those without ascites. Conclusions: We conclude that acute Brucella infection can lead to a unique low gradient ascites probably resulting from pancreatic leakage followed by peritoneal accumulation of serum proteins.

Objective. The aim of this study is to demonstrate if routine assessment of patient index data 3 has a correlation with disease’s activity as much as disease activity score 28, clinical disease activity index, and simplified disease activity index in Ecuadorian patients with rheumatoid arthritis seen in Unidad de Enfermedades Reumáticas y Autoinmunes [UNERA] from December 2016 to December 2017. Methods. This is a retrospective study in 200 patients that fulfill the American College of Rheumatology 2010 criteria for diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis. The patients were evaluated from December 2016 to December 2017. Descriptive analyses were carried out, also Pearson correlation was used, and, to give a better clinical significance, a chi-square test was conducted. Whenever assumptions of chi-square test were violated, a Fisher’s exact test was reported. Results. RAPID3 correlated best with DAS28 (r.83, p < 0.001), followed by CDAI (r.80, p < 0.001) and then SDAI (r.77, p < 0.001). Conclusion. RAPID3 is a questionnaire that only takes 10 seconds to calculate and correlates in a significant way with traditional clinical measures that require more time to perform, saving time in busy health facilities.

Aiming at triggering in-depth research of the problem of Premature Ovarian Insufficiency (POI) in Slovenia, we assessed the regional differences in POI incidence emphasising the relationship with social and physical environmental factors at the population level using a mapping approach. The differences in POI incidence between regions were tested by goodness-of-fit chi-square test, while Pearson correlation coefficient was used to assess the ecological relationship between POI incidence and selected environmental indicators. Significant indicators were mapped. The results showed highly significant interregional differences in POI incidence (p<0.001). Statistically significant ecological relationships were observed between POI incidence and prevalence of active smoking (p=0.001), passive smoking (p=0.017) and consumption of vitamins (p=0.008). The results could be used in diminishing interregional differences in POI. It was concluded that mapping is an effective tool in public health research, especially in triggering new activities.

Objective. This study used a new method called Acceleration (or Deceleration) Phase-Rectified Slope, APRS (or DPRS) to analyze computerized Cardiotocographic (cCTG) traces in intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR), in order to calculate acceleration- and deceleration-related fluctuations of the fetal heart rate, and to enhance the prediction of neonatal outcome.Method.Cardiotocograms from a population of 59 healthy and 61 IUGR fetuses from the 30th gestation week matched for gestational age were included. APRS and DPRS analysis was compared to the standard linear and nonlinear cCTG parameters. Statistical analysis was performed through thet-test, ANOVA test, Pearson correlation test and receiver operator characteristic (ROC) curves (p<0,05).Results.APRS and DPRS showed high performance to discriminate between Healthy and IUGR fetuses, according to gestational week. A linear correlation with the fetal pH at birth was found in IUGR. The area under the ROC curve was 0.865 for APRS and 0.900 for DPRS before the 34th gestation week.Conclusions.APRS and DPRS could be useful in the identification and management of IUGR fetuses and in the prediction of the neonatal outcome, especially before the 34th week of gestation.

Introduction: Premature birth is highly stressful for parents. Nursing support is crucial for premature infants. Parental satisfaction is a vital indicator of the quality of care provided by nurses. Therefore, determining the factors related to parental satisfaction is important in nursing care. Objective: This study aims to investigate the relationship between social support and parentschr('39') satisfaction with the medical care provided to their premature infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs). Materials and Methods: This is an analytical/correlational study. Participants were 130 parents of premature infants admitted to the NICUs in three hospitals affiliated to Tehran University of Medical Sciences in Iran. They were selected based on a convenience sampling method. Tarkka’s Social Support Questionnaires and the Neonatal Index of Parent Satisfaction were used for collecting data. Data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics and T-test, Chi-square test, ANOVA and Pearson correlation test. Results: It was reported that 55.38% of the infants were females, with a mean birth weight of 1880.97± 544.85 gr and a mean gestational age of 32.07±2.41 weeks. The mean age of their mothers and fathers was 31.25±5.12 and 35.03±5.66 years, respectively. The highest level of social support in mothers and fathers was related to emotional support (3.65±0.69 in mothers and 3.29±0.57 in fathers), while the lowest level of social support was related to concrete support (3.32±0.80 in mothers and 3.16±0.65 in fathers). Mothers perceived higher social support than fathers. They also had more satisfaction with medical care (3.88±0.81 in mothers and 3.63±0.69 in fathers). There was a significant relationship between social support and parental satisfaction (r=0.791, P<0.05). Conclusion: Parents of premature infants need more social support, especially concrete aid. Therefore, planning to promote social support of parents, especially fathers, by nurses in the NICUs seems necessary.
