This study aimed to analyze the related factors and remote diagnosis of sleep disorders in patients with uremia and to provide the basis for clinical intervention measures. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) was used to evaluate the sleep quality of 100 patients with uremia. The experimental results show that among 100 patients with uremia, 83 patients (83%) were complicated with sleep disorder, and the average PSQI score was (10.73 ± 1.36). The PSQI score was significantly higher in the elderly, patients with long duration of dialysis, patients with elevated CRP, patients with substandard anemia, and patients with substandard calcium and phosphorus, with statistical significance ( P < 0.05 ). The sleep quality of patients with uremia is correlated with depression, age, and penetration age. The worse the sleep quality is, the more severe the depression is. It proved that the sleep quality of dialysis patients is an important factor. Conclusion. Sleep disorder is a common complication in patients with uremia. Age, anemia, calcium and phosphorus abnormality, permeation age, and inflammatory status are important factors affecting sleep quality in dialysis patients.

ABSTRACT Objective: To evaluate the quality of sleep in women with urinary incontinence before and after sling surgery. Methods: A prospective study of case series of women with urodynamic diagnosis of stress urinary incontinence. To evaluate the subjective quality of sleep, two specific questionnaires were used and validated for the Portuguese Language: Epworth Sleepiness Scale and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index. The questionnaires were applied before and 6 months after surgical repair. Results: When analyzing the Epworth Sleepiness Scale, there was an improvement in sleep quality (p=0.0401). For the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, only for sleep disorder there was improvement in quality of sleep after surgery (p=0.0127). Conclusion: Women with urinary incontinence, submitted to surgery with sling, showed improvement in both quality of sleep and sleep disorder.

Abstract Background Restless legs syndrome (RLS) is characterized by an urge to move the extremities, accompanied by paraesthesiae, in the evening and at night. Uraemic RLS, a type of secondary RLS, occurs commonly in chronic kidney disease and end-stage renal disease. Progression of uraemic RLS over time is unclear. Therefore we investigated the prevalence, progression over time, risk factors and impact on survival of uraemic RLS in a cohort of dialysis patients. Methods We reviewed at the 7-year follow-up a cohort of haemodialysis (HD) patients we had previously investigated for RLS, through interviews, validated questionnaires and analysis of demographic and clinical data. Results At the 7-year follow-up, RLS was present in 16% of patients, with a persistence rate of 33%. A correlation was obtained between RLS and older age, diabetes, low albumin and low body mass index. RLS was associated with reduced overall survival (median survival of 3.3 versus 3.7 years), particularly with the continuous form of RLS (1.61 years). There was a higher incidence of myocardial infarction and peripheral vascular disease, although not reaching statistical significance. RLS patients had absolute higher scores in all quality of life domains. A large majority of study patients (96%) reported being symptom-free within a few days or weeks following kidney transplantation. Conclusions The development of RLS, especially the continuous form, in patients undergoing HD has important consequences associated with decreased survival. Our results indicated an association between uraemic RLS and ageing, diabetes and malnutrition. Considerable efforts should be focused on the treatment of RLS, since it significantly and persistently impacts the quality of life of HD patients. Kidney transplantation could represent an effective treatment option for that RLS impacts on dialysis patients' quality of life, thus confirming the secondary nature of RLS in most HD patients.

Abstract OBJECTIVE To assess sleep, quality of life and mood of nursing professionals of pediatric intensive care units. METHOD Quantitative, cross-sectional and descriptive study. Professionals grouped by morning, afternoon and evening shifts were assessed by means of the instruments: Morningness-Eveningness Questionnaire; Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index; Epworth Sleepiness Scale; Generic questionnaire for the assessment of quality of life (SF-36); Beck Depression Inventory; Beck Anxiety Inventory; State-Trait Anxiety Inventory. RESULTS Sample consisted of 168 professionals, with prevalence of neutral typology (57.49%). There was no statistical significance regarding sleep, despite scores showing a poor quality of sleep and excessive daytime sleepiness for the three shifts. Quality of life did not reveal any statistical significance, but in the field "social role functioning" of the evening shift, a lower score was observed (p<0.007). There was no statistical significance regarding levels of anxiety and depression. CONCLUSION The results suggest that these professionals may present sleeping problems, but they do not have lower scores of quality of life or mood disorders. Likely explanations for these findings may include an adaptation to their work type over time and the fact that working with children is rewarding.

Abstract Background: The purpose of the study was to investigate to understand the situation of sleep quality and anxiety among nurses in tertiary hospitals in China, and analyze their influencing factors. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was performed for nurses in Beijing tertiary hospitals including Beijing Tongren hospital, Anzhen Hospital and Beijing Children Hospital. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Indes (PSQI) and Zung Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) were used to measured the sleep quality and anxiety symptoms, respectively. Survey of quality of life in nurses was measured by 36-item Short Form Health Survey (SF-36). Spearman’s correlations analysis and logistic regression analysis was used to understand the influencing factors with sleep disorder, anxiety symptoms and quality of sleep. Quality of life (both PCS and MCS) were affected by influencing factors including marital status, working years, education background, income monthly, working hours, regular diet, physical exercise, sleep disorder, anxiety symptoms, felling of stress, and stress from economic, social, occupational. Results: 643 registered nurses in three tertiary hospitals were surveyed, 517 (80.4%) returned questionnaires were valid for analysis. The average PSQI score was 7.71±3.62, including 372 participants that scores were above 5 (72.0%). The average SAS score was 45.18±9.90,including 157 participants with a SAS score > 50 (30.4%) that had different anxiety symptoms. The nurses’ sleep quality were affected by some factors including income monthly, working hours, regular diet, physical exercise, stress from economic, social, occupational. Education background, income monthly, working hours, regular diet and economic stress, social stress, occupational stress have significantly related to anxiety symptoms. Correlation between sleep disorder and anxiety severity was positive for nurses. Conclusions: The situation of sleep disorder and anxiety symptoms among nurses in tertiary hospitals in China were very serious. The problem has negative effect on physical and mental health in nurses which reminded hospital administrators should take preventive actions. In addition, the results of the study hinted that promotion of health lifestyle, effort-reward balance and providing social support may be significant to decrease the poor sleep quality and anxiety symptoms and increase quality of life in nurses.

With the rapid development of society and the gradual improvement of people’s living standards, patients with cardiovascular diseases have higher standards and requirements for daily health care and quality of life. The main research of this article is based on the observation of the effect of smart medical nursing intervention on the sleep quality of cardiology patients. The convenience sampling method was used to randomly select 80 cardiology patients from the electronic medical record system of the hospital, and the patients were randomly divided into two groups. One group was the control group. The routine nursing method was adopted, and a dedicated nurse paid attention to the sleep status; the other group was the control group. The research group adopts targeted nursing methods. This paper selects three kinds of sensor data as features. When collecting each scene record, it is first divided into sleeping and awake states, and then the classified time is composed of time segments, and these time segments are finally accumulated into sleep duration. Using sleep time, waking time, and sleep duration as input, the participants were divided into good sleepers and poor sleepers. Through a self-made questionnaire survey, the factors that have an adverse effect on the patient’s sleep are divided into 7 aspects. Using the method of internal continuity measurement, Cronbach’s coefficient a is 0.811, suggesting that the internal consistency is better, and the calculation reliability and validity are 86.1% and 83.4%, respectively, suggesting that the table can be used for sleep in hospitalized patients. The P values of the study group and the control group were 0.420, 0.764, 0.740, 0.881, 0.842, 0.119, and 0.342 P > 0.05 . The results show that the application of smart medical services has a certain effect on the patient's sleep quality.
