With the rapid development of computer science and information technology, artificial intelligence (AI) has been developed from theory to application. As a key technology in the modern society, AI is increasingly affecting all aspects of people’s daily lives, including sports training. AI can be considered as an assistive technology to provide specific support to athletes’ physical education training through various means such as data analysis and simulation of training scenarios. Although research on AI is still in the preliminary stage, it is significant to explore how AI can be applied in sports training since this emerging technology could facilitate people’s physical training to some extent. This paper first reviews the existing research on AI applications. Then, based on the fundamental concept and related research results of AI, this study explores three specific cases of AI application in sports training and explains the main principles. This research focuses on discussing the strong relationship between AI technology and physical education training and highlights the advantages of AI, including utilization, convenience, and innovation.

Over the years, the rise of digital economy has confused countries in their efforts to tax foreign companies without physically presence within their jurisdiction. One of the potential tax revenues that have not been optimally digging comes from the digital sector. The digital economy sector has enormous potential along with the rapid development of information and communication technology, especially the internet. This digital economy market is dominated by internet-based services commonly called Over The Top (OTT) services and is filled with global content owned by foreign companies. This article argues the provisions of taxation for foreign OTT lending providers in England, Australia, India, and Japan. This research used a qualitative non-case study approach. This study outlines the strengths and weaknesses of each alternative.

Abstract Background: Information technology has continued to shape contemporary thematic trends. Advances in communication have impacted almost all themes ranging from education, engineering, healthcare, and many other aspects of our daily lives. Method: This paper attempts to review the different dynamics of the thematic IoT platforms. A select number of themes are extensively analyzed with emphasis on data mining (DM), personalized healthcare (PHC), and thematic trends of a select number of subjectively identified IoT-related publications over three years. In this paper, the number of IoT-related-publications is used as a proxy representing the number of apps. DM remains the trailblazer, serving as a theme with crosscutting qualities that drive artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and data transformation. A case study in PHC illustrates the importance, complexity, productivity optimization, and nuances contributing to a successful IoT platform. Among the initial 99 IoT themes, 18 are extensively analyzed using the number of IoT publications to demonstrate a combination of different thematic dynamics, including subtleties that influence escalating IoT publication themes. Results: Based on findings amongst the 99 themes, the annual median IoT-related publications for all the themes over the four years were increasingly 5510, 8930, 11700, and 14800 for 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019 respectively; indicating an upbeat prognosis of IoT dynamics. Conclusion: The vulnerabilities that come with the successful implementation of IoT systems are highlighted including the successes currently achieved by institutions promoting the benefits of IoT-related systems like the case study. Security continues to be an issue of significant importance.

Traditional physical education in colleges and universities is difficult to arouse students’ interest in sports, resulting in low activity participation rate and inability to exercise the body. How to effectively improve the effectiveness of physical education in colleges and universities has become one of the hot topics of most concern from all walks of life. In physical education, innovative teaching concepts and methods, teaching methods and processes, and teaching evaluation methods are all conducive to improving the classroom atmosphere of physical education and successfully improve the effectiveness of physical education. This article focuses on analyzing the current status of physical education in colleges and universities. Based on the rapid development of artificial intelligence technology, how to improve the effectiveness of physical education is studied, and an experimental method is used to compare and analyze physical education in a college. The analysis results show that artificial intelligence-based physical education can obviously improve students’ strength quality, speed quality, endurance quality, and agility quality, which provides a more important reference and reference for improving the effectiveness of college physical education.

Purpose This paper aims to dynamically analyze the opportunities and challenges of AI in the defense sector in Lebanon or any security agency or any organization with sensitive data through a resource-based view perspective, the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI)/narrow AI applications in the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) and to diagnose the current strategic orientation toward innovation and technology within the LAF while avoiding isomorphism. Design/methodology/approach The methodology is based on a qualitative interpretive case-study approach collected from several departments of the LAF. In fact, there is a developing convention to use qualitative research approaches among which case studies to study information technology phenomena (Trauth and Jessup, 2000; Benbasat et al., 1987; Klein and Meyers, 1999). Data were collected through centered semi-structured in-depth interviews (two to three hours each) with an interview guide coded abductively between the researchers and the interviewees conducted in numerous departments of the LAF with their top officials and generals (O1, O2, O3…); the anonymity of the interviewees was kept due to the sensitivity of the data collected, which took place between September 2018 and March 2019. Data consolidation and processing were conducted using NVivo. Findings This paper shows that the LAF is undeniably facing many challenges among which isomorphism caused by the lack of resources; it also shows that narrow AI applications provide new avenues for the LAF to avoid such institutional isomorphism. Originality/value The role of narrow AI in limiting isomorphism in the defense sector.

PurposeThis paper examines the methodical and highly efficacious manner in which China deployed its comprehensive AI (artificial intelligence) strategy to significantly stymie the spread of COVID-19 across the country.Design/methodology/approachThis study deploys a case-study approach, supported by the literature on existing and emerging AI and related technologies.FindingsThe onset of the COVID-19 pandemic has revealed to the world the remarkable progress China has made in AI and its accompanying ecosystem. More importantly, this outlier event demonstrates the surgical, hybridised manner in which China has utilised these emerging technologies in containing its spread (i.e. “AI Epidemiological Targeting”) and set itself on the path to unleashing their full potential (i.e. “AI Symbiosis Paradigm”). Nonetheless, China still needs to harness its rapidly advancing AI prowess in identifying COVID-19's pathogenesis and developing a proven vaccine.Originality/valueThis study presents a pioneering effort to analyse the deployment of AI and its ecosystem in the “war” against COVID-19.

<p>The rapid development of technology implies inclusiveness in da'wah not only in real terms in the real world, but also in the virtual world. Some things that become considerations of the da'wah inclusiveness need to be applied, including the growth of radicalism through social media, then in 2015 a funny social media account @NUgaris emerged that intensely and consistently helped to color the virtual world. This type of research is qualitative with a case study approach. The authors explore the implementation of preaching inclusiveness through social media carried out by the above account. The results of the study show that there are three forms of the application of the inclusiveness of the @NUgarislucu account, namely: inclusiveness in doing da’wah to the internal citizens of NU (Nahdhiyin); inclusiveness in da'wah to internal Muslims who differ in manhaj (across mass organizations) in Indonesia; inclusiveness in da'wah to external Muslims, namely to other religions in Indonesia. The three forms of missionary inclusiveness are carried out through dialogue and humor.</p>

All activities in training fields are for the improvement of athletes’ competitive abilities. A sports training system is an organizational system to achieve common goals. Competitive ability is one of the main manifestations of the evolution of the training system. With the rapid development of computer technology, people have begun to combine virtual reality and other technologies to achieve scientific sports-assisted training to eliminate traditional sports training that relied purely on experience. Pose estimation obtains the position, angle, and additional information about the human body in the image in a two-dimensional plane or three-dimensional space by establishing the mapping relationship between the human body features and the human body posture. This article demonstrates a golf-assisted training system to realize the transformation from an experience-based sports training method to a human motion analysis method, using artificial intelligence and big data. The swing posture parameters of the trainer and the coach are obtained using the posture estimation of a human body. Based on this information, an auxiliary training system is built. The two parameters of the joint angle trajectory and the posture similarity are used as auxiliary indicators to compare the trainers. The joint angle trajectory is analyzed, and the coach is guided based on the similarity of the posture.

UNSTRUCTURED Background The emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare impacts on most aspects of our healthcare systems including consideration of employment, training, education, and professional regulation for healthcare professions. It is incumbent on healthcare professional associations (HPAs) to assist their membership in defining and preparing for AI-related change. HPAs, or the national groups convened to represent the interests of the members of a profession, hold a unique role in establishing and maintaining the socio-cultural, normative, and regulative elements of healthcare professions. The objective of this study is to examine how, when faced with AI as a disruptive technology, HPAs engage in sense-making and legitimization of change in order to support their membership in preparing for future practice. Methods An exploratory multi-case study approach will be employed. This study will be informed by normalization process theory (NPT), which suggests behavioural constructs required for complex change, providing a novel lens through which to consider the agency of macro-level actors in practice change. Four HPAs will be studied, with each representing an instrumental case and related fields, selected for their early consideration and adoption of AI technologies. Data collection will consist of key-informant interviews, observation of relevant meetings, and document review. Individual and collective sense-making activities and action toward change will be identified and characterized using stakeholder network mapping. A hybrid inductive/deductive model will be used for a concurrent thematic analysis, mapping emergent themes against the NPT framework to assess fit and identify areas of discordance. Discussion A linear cross-case analytic approach will be taken to present the data, highlighting both guidance for the implementation of AI and implications for the application of NPT at the macro level. The ability to inform consideration of AI will depend on the degree to which the engaged HPAs have considered this topic at the time of the study, and hence what priority it has been assigned within the HPA and what actions have been taken to consider or prepare for it. The fact that this may differ between HPAs and associated professions and practice environments will require consideration throughout the analysis. Ultimately, this protocol outlines a case study approach to understanding how, when faced with AI as a disruptive technology, HPAs engage in sense-making and legitimization of the change in order to support their membership in preparing for future practice.
