After years of vigorous development, the scale of rural tourism industry has gradually expanded throughout the country, and it has become an important means of coordinating urban and rural areas to drive farmers’ incomes and get rich. Nowadays, the level of informatization is constantly improving, the construction of smart cities is constantly advancing, the personalized demand of tourists is increasingly strong, especially the rural tourist spots scattered in the vast countryside which have a great spatial breadth, and the traditional management method can no longer meet the needs of the source objects whose main travel mode is self-driving. Therefore, only when rural tourism develops in the direction of intelligence can it successfully realize the transformation and upgrading of rural tourism industry. This paper takes a rural tourism resort in a certain area as the research object and builds an intelligent rural tourism environmental suitability evaluation system with three criterion levels: natural geographic conditions, traffic environmental conditions, and tourism spatial conditions. The weight of each indicator layer is obtained through the analytic hierarchy process, and the reclassified raster data of indicators is weighted and superimposed on the ArcGIS operating platform to obtain the evaluation result of the environmental suitability of smart rural tourism. According to the results of suitability evaluation, the most suitable area is selected as the potential area of the intelligent rural tourism environment in a certain area. According to the natural and cultural tourism resource conditions in the block, the potential block is divided into functions. A comprehensive comparison of the suitability spatial differentiation map of the smart rural tourism environment in a certain area with the suitability spatial differentiation map of each subsystem can more clearly find that the suitability score of the economic development subsystem and the basic support subsystem is a county-level village in a certain area. Among them, the suitability of the rural economic development subsystem is similar to the distribution of the suitability of the smart rural tourism environment in a certain area; that is, it is positively correlated with the suitability of the smart rural tourism environment. Therefore, improving the level of rural economic development and increasing investment in the construction of a smart rural tourism environment play an important role in improving the level of public services and infrastructure coverage.

AbstractAn approach to sustainable tourism through clusters is considered an appropriate strategy in less-developed rural areas of tourist-oriented countries, such as Croatia. This paper clarifies the key challenges of the development of tourism clusters in the region of Gorska Hrvatska and provides new data for an approach to sustainable rural tourism development. Using available secondary data from governmental bodies, non-governmental organizations, protected areas of Gorska Hrvatska, and primary data of the Lika Destination Cluster, the paper explores the key challenges of developing a cluster of tourism and selective forms of tourism. Most tourism clusters in Croatia have remained in the first phase of development for years, even though this approach has failed to to achieve significant results. The key benefits of networking and branding in rural areas are identified and defined, but these potentials are still largely underutilized. The objective of this study is to provide practical recommendations to the Croatian tourism industry on how to learn from the suggested best practices and how to implement them effectively. For that purpose, the case of sustainable tourism located in the Gorska Hrvatska region, called the Lika Destination Cluster is analyzed.

Rural tourism is one tour package that is highly desirable for foreign tourists, especially European tourists. Rural tourism has an important role and provides many benefits in the tourism sector for rural communities. When tourists travel to rural areas, they indirectly help local communities in developing rural areas and living standards. Furthermore, homestay is one of the criteria for a tourist village. Homestay is a product of the tourism industry where tourists can meet directly with local residents. Tourists who stay at the homestay and given an offer of rural tour packages, can be an opportunity for the community to attract tourists to stay longer by enjoying a variety of natural and cultural activities in the tourist village. This study aimed to determine the perceptions of European tourists on rural tour packages at D’Karang Homestay. The benefit of this research is to add references in tourism studies especially about the perceptions of European tourists on rural tourism packages. The research methods used were observation, interview, questionnaire and documentation. This research revealed European tourist perceptions of the rural tour packages offered by D’Karang Homestay but there are still shortcomings that need to be corrected.

Topicality. The article covers the issues of implementation of marketing tools for the development of the ecological direction of rural tourism. Tourism development can become a "catalyst" for economic growth in rural areas: tourism activity is attractive to small start-up investments, because for peasants who have very limited funds, this is a practically crucial moment; tourism is a profitable branch of economy with a high level of profitability, with a minimum payback period, which is very important for the quick income generation. Aim and tasks. The only way to solve systemic problems in the field of tourism is a strategically oriented state policy, the main task of which is to define tourism as one of the main priorities of the state, the introduction of economic and legal mechanisms for the successful conduct of tourism business, investment mechanisms for the development of tourism infrastructure, information and marketing activities with formation of tourist image of Ukraine. Therefore, they need to cooperate with other structures that serve the guests of the village. Usually such partners are: objects of community food (taverns, bars, roadside cafes); owners of means of transport (traditional, retro options); centers of folk crafts and crafts production; artistic and ethno-folk groups; municipal and private museums; the administration of natural parks. Supporting the region in resource support: - cartographic and advertising-cartographic support, as a rule, is necessary at the level of the region (the only tourist area); - Information and advertising resources of the region (TV and other mass media, regional specialized sites, etc.); - training for tourism industry: effective coordination at the regional level; - Information and advisory support: effective organization at the regional level (including, with the involvement of external expertise, including international). Mazowieckie Province is a unique area of Poland. It is characterised by social and economic diversification. Located in this province, Warsaw strongly influences the development of neighbouring rural areas. On the other hand, rural municipalities whose socio-economic parameters are among the lowest in the country are located within several dozen kilometres from the centre of the capital. Such disparities show that Mazowieckie is characterised by large interregional differences in its internal structure. This is an interesting research area that requires the analysis of socio-economic development in this region to be conducted in a multidimensional way. The aim of this study is to evaluate the spatial differentiation of the level of socio-economic development of rural areas in Mazowieckie Province. Linear ordering was used to determine the level of socio-economic development. The results of the study are consistent with core-periphery theory. The large urban centres that function as the centres for the surrounding rural areas have the greatest impact on the level of rural development. The impact of smaller towns can also be noticed. They often are the local development centres for surrounding villages.

This study used panel to identify the relationship between air transport and rural tourism in Thailand. The data covered eleven airports in Thailand from 2009 to 2018 (10 years). The airports are located in the eleven poorest provinces in the country, based on the gross provincial product per capita. The study included the total number of air traveler arrivals as the dependent variable and the total number of flight movements, provincial tourism revenue and the average monthly income per household as the independent variables, and used an autoregressive distributed lag model to identify the relationship between air transport and rural areas in Thailand. The results of the study indicate that increasing demand for air transport to rural provinces is significantly and positively generating an increasing number of flights and a decline in tourism revenue and household income in the eleven provinces in the long run. The development of the air transport industry alone is not enough to alleviate the income inequality; it is suggested that provincial governments need to develop the tourism industry and infrastructure further to bring greater benefits to society and to reduce income inequality in the country.

For a long time, the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the State Council have attached great importance to rural development. At the report of the 19th National Congress, the Communist Party of China clearly pointed out that we should firmly “implement the Rural Revitalization Strategy” and “adhere to the priority development of agriculture and rural areas”. With the improvement of rural ecological environment and the development of economic construction, rural tourism has become more and more popular among the public, and has become one of the important pillars of Rural Revitalization and poverty alleviation. At the same time, rural tourism has greatly increased villagers’ income, improved villagers’ quality of life, and improved villagers’ happiness index. It can be seen that the rural tourism industry and the implementation of Rural Revitalization Strategy promote each other, and the positive development of rural tourism is the only way to promote the construction of new socialist countryside. This paper discusses how to realize the sustainable development of rural tourism in the context of Rural Revitalization from the perspective of the long-term significance of rural tourism to Rural Revitalization and the ways to develop rural tourism.
