This study examined Kwara central undergraduates’ perceived peer pressure on youths’ involvement in kidnapping. This study was a descriptive survey. The population comprised of all undergraduates in Kwara Central Senatorial District. The target population was undergraduates from University of Ilorin and Alhikmah University, 500 students were randomly selected. A researcher design questionnaire was used for data collection while data collected were analyzed using frequency and percentage, mean, standard deviation (SD), ranking T-test and one-way analysis of variance. Research hypotheses were tested using independent T-test and also one-way analysis of variance at 0.05 level of significance. Findings revealed that peer pressure influences youth involvement in kidnapping in Nigeria; there was no significant difference in the influence of peer pressure on youth’s involvement in kidnapping as perceived by undergraduates based on academic level and school type. It was concluded that peer pressure influences youths’ involvement in kidnapping in Nigeria. We recommend both school and home adequate monitoring of students peers and friends at home and schools to prevent them from bad groups, adequate legislation to curb youth participation in kidnapping, good leadership examples for young ones to emulate and value reorientation of youths should be given top priority in educational curriculum.

The study focused on Critical analysis of Fulani herdsmen crisis and its impact on national development has perceived by literate citizens. A descriptive survey design was adopted which enabled the researchers to collect and analyze data from a sample of the entire population without any manipulations. The target population for this study was made up of Universities and College of Education Lecturers in Rivers State. A sample size of one hundred (100) Lecturers was used for the study, which was selected through purposive and random sampling techniques. The Instrument was validated and it was subjected to content reliability using test-reset method with Pearson Product Moment Correlation (PPMC). The reliability coefficient obtained 0.87. Three null hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance. Data were analyzed using t-test. Findings showed that there was a significant difference in the perception of University of College of Education lecturers on the causes, economics effects and impact of Fulani herdsmen and Farmers crisis on national development in Nigeria. It was recommended that Federal government should engage peace and conflict resolution experts in dealing with issues concerning Fulani herdsmen and Farmers crises and that ranching method of cattle rearing location across the country while the herdsmen should be given needed training for effective and efficient management of the ranching.

Teachers play significant role in the process of implementing inclusive lower primary education, but it is important to note that inclusive education is yet to be fully implemented in Nigeria despite the numerous benefits associated to it. As one of the major implementers of inclusive lower primary, it is imperative to study teachers’ knowledge of inclusive lower primary education in Ifako-Ijaiye, as to provide empirical evidence. Descriptive survey research design was adopted with thirty five (35) teachers who were sampled using simple random. A self-designed research instrument titled Teachers Knowledge of Inclusive Education Questionnaire (α = 0.92) was used to collect data. One research question was answered and two hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance. Teachers have average knowledge of inclusive lower primary education (Average Percentage = 53.6). Regular and special teachers have no significant difference on knowledge of inclusive education (t = 0.50; df = 33; p0.05). Based on the findings, it was recommended that Nigerian Government, concerned Non-Governmental Organizations and Scholars should ensure that regular trainings are organized for lower primary teachers in order to update their knowledge about inclusive education

Based on the elements of statistical analysis on the dependence of fuel and lubricant consumption on tree diameter, it was assessed that with the increase of tree diameter, the fuel and lubricant consumption in the young oak and hornbeam stands decreases significantly, both in clear felling and in thinning and that the function form Y=exp(a+b x X?1) is the best description of the correlation The consumption of fuel compared to lubricant consumption is almost double, which agrees with the results of the previous studies. Average consumption of fuel and lubricant is 17.43 mL x tree?1, on the plots 20.27 mL x tree?1, average consumption of lubricant per tree on skid roads is 9.4 mL x tree?1, on the plots 11 mL x tree?1. The higher consumption of fuel and lubricant on the plots with selective thinning is the consequence of the longer time needed for the conversion per tree, compared to that in clear felling The consumption of fuel per unit area on the skid roads (clear felling) is 22.9 L x ha?1, on the plots (selective thinning) 7.6 L x ha?1. The consumption of lubricant on the skid roads is 13.3 L x ha?1, on the plots 4.29 L x ha?1. The higher consumption of fuel and lubricant per unit area on the skid roads is due to the difference in the number of trees per unit area Based on the results of the analysis of variance, it was found out that between fuel and lubricant consumption in selective thinning and in felling the trees along tractor skid roads there is no statistically significant difference at the level of significance of 95%. So, for practical purposes, the unique norms of consumption can be established for the stands similar to those in which the study was performed.

Goal of this paper was to determine differences between deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) students in motivation for academic achievement and compared to hearing students. Sample was comprised of 94 students averaging 16.5 ± 1.34 years of age. Sample was divided into three groups (deaf, hard of hearing and hearing students). For examination, we used the following: Great Inventory of Achievement Motivation, measuring instrument for assessing students’ motivation for academic achievement, that is comprised of five subtests i.e. 13 areas of measurement (Suzic, 2006). For difference testing t-test was used along with analysis of variance (ANOVA). T-test determined statistically significant difference in areas of “self-efficacy “, “engagement”, “control” and “non-conformism”. Deaf and hard of hearing students displayed less motivation on these parameters than their hearing counterparts. In the area of “valuing academic achievements” DHH students together displayed, better motivation than their hearing counterparts and difference was statistically significant. With Analysis of Variance i.e. with additional Tukey test, we have determined that statistically significant difference is present only when comparing deaf and hearing students, but not when comparing hard of hearing and hearing students.

ABSTRACT Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the perception of smile esthetics among orthodontists and laypersons with respect to unilateral maxillary canine torque variations in a frontal smile analysis. Methods: Full face and close-up smile photographs of two subjects (1 man and 1 woman) were used. Both smiles displayed healthy maxillary anterior dentitions. The images were digitally altered to obtain a bilateral 0° torque in the maxillary canines. From this image, unilateral variations of the left canine were made with -15°, -10°, -5°, 0°, +5°, +10° and +15°. Final images were randomly assembled into an album that was given to 53 orthodontists and 53 laypersons. Each rater was asked to evaluate the attractiveness of the images using visual analog scales. Data collected were statistically analyzed with one-way analysis of variance with Tukey post-hoc test and the unpaired Student t test. Results: For orthodontists, most attractive smiles were those with 0°, -5° and -10°. For laypersons, most attractive smiles were those with 0°, -5°, -10°, -15° and + 5°. For both groups, the lowest scores were given for the smiles with +10° and +15° torque. When comparing the perceptions of the orthodontists and laypersons, they did not show statistical differences in most situations. Moreover, in general, there was no significant difference between the full-face and close-up assessments of the smiles. Conclusions: The present findings indicated that smiles with unilateral palatal (negative values) maxillary canine torque variations were more tolerated than smiles with buccal crown torque (positive values) variations.

ABSTRACT Introduction Success of root canal therapy (RCT) is largely dependent upon the quality of biomechanical preparation and obturation of the pulp canal. Improperly cleaned or shaped root canal, regardless of the type of obturation method and obturating material, cannot lead to the success of endodontic therapy. Hence, we conducted a clinical comparative analysis of two obturating techniques. Materials and methods A total of 140 patients receiving RCT at the department of Endodontic were included in the present study. The average follow-up time for the patients was 29 months (18–38 months). Patients were grouped into two depending on the type of obturating technique used. Evaluation of the clinical and radiographic follow-up records of the patients was done and analysis was made. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used for assessing the level of significance. Results The average age of the patients undergoing obturation with carrier-based obturation (CO) technique and lateral compaction (LC) technique was 43 and 48 years respectively. While comparing failure and success of the teeth at the time of follow-up, nonsignificant results were obtained. Significant difference was seen, while comparing the presence of voids and type of teeth in which endodontic therapy was performed using different obturating techniques. Conclusion Endodontic therapy done with LC obturating technique or with CO technique shows prognostic difference on the outcome or quality of treatment therapy. Clinical significance Quality of obturation is more important rather than type while performing endodontic therapy for better prognosis. Learning strategies and motivational orientations are important issues that have attracted the attention of many researchers in recent decades. Thus this research was done with the aim of investigation the use of students’ motivational orientations compared with them high school. The type of research is applied, descriptive. Students of University of Sistan and Baluchestan the number of 19750 was considered as target population and with use of Krejcie and Morgan (1970) sample size table 375 students were considered as sample. The main components of motivational orientations were measured with using Taylor-Sims (2011) Motivational Strategies Questionnaire (MSQ). Data was examined with using Paired Sample t-test, Friedman test for prioritize the variables, Analysis Variance and Independentsample t-test. The findings indicated that generally students use less motivational orientation than them high school course and this amount wasn’t desirable. The girls more utilized these skills in comparison with boys. Among different educational groups in just a few components was a significant difference. In rate of using of motivational orientations weren't significant differences between educational levels and age.

This research was intended to investigate the effect of a culture-based approach in improving students’ reading comprehension on spoof text. For that purpose, a true experimental study was applied to the eleventh-grade students of SMAN 1 Soreang. The sample of this study was 88 students from that school. These students were divided equally into the control and experimental group. The experimental group was given the Culture-Based Approach (CBA) as the treatment in comprehending the text.  The students’ scores of pre-test and post-test from both groups were statistically analyzed and compared by the T-test. The findings could be summarized that generally, students from the experimental group gained better achievement than from the control group on their post-test scores. The data analysis also showed that there was a significant difference between the mean score of the pre-test (53.45) and the post-test (58.39.). Furthermore, the result of the t-test (5.707) was relatively higher than the t- table (2.018) for a 0.5 percent level of significance. It indicated that the students’ achievement was significantly improved after the treatment of using a Culture-Based Approach. Thus, it is recommended that a Culture-Based Approach should be considered as an alternative choice for English teachers in teaching spoof text.

The study assessed the technologies available for empowering women in cassava production in Abia State. The objectives were to determine the availability and utilization of technologies for empowering women in cassava production. Questionnaire was the instrument for data collection which was developed on a 4-point measuring scale and was validated by peer review of researchers in agricultural extension. Reliability was established by the Cronbach’s alpha which gave co-efficient of r ∝ = 0.74 indicating a high reliability. Multi-stage random sampling technique was used to select a sample size of 240 and the extension filed officers were used as research assistants to facilitate the administration and retrieval of the questionnaire. Data analysis was achieved with the use of descriptive statistics such as frequency, mean which referenced x = 2.50 as the benchmark and inferential statistics as t-test at 0.050 level of significance. The findings revealed that majority (x = 2.56) agreed that technologies were available for empowering women in cassava production while (x = 2.03) indicated that the extent women were empowered utilizing technologies for cassava production was low. The t- test of no mean significant difference was not rejected because t = 0.01 at P ≥ 0.05 which indicated no mean difference between availability and utilization of technologies for empowering women cassava producers. On the basis of the findings the study recommended that more extension field personnel should be employed and retrained on how to train women on how to use the technologies.Keywords: women, empowerment, cassava, production

ABSTRACT The purpose of the study was to investigate a arising Borneo Frisbee team named Ultras on agility and speed performance in relation to the playing position of Ultimate Frisbee players. Sixteen (N=16) athletes (8 handlers and 8 cutters) participated in the present study, and the age ranged between 19 to 24 years old. Each athlete was tested with the 505 agility test and 30-meter sprint test to measure agility and speed. The level of significance was set at .05 (p<.05). The obtained data was analysed using SPSS 22.0. Independent Sample T-Test was employed to compare the differences in agility and speed between handlers and cutters. Results showed that there is no significance difference in agility between handlers and cutters (playing position) (p=.192) and no significant difference in speed between handlers and cutters (playing positions) (p=.522). The mean of the results showed that handlers were approximately 14.16% more agile than cutters, while cutters were approximately 49.37% faster in horizontal speed than handlers.
