This scientific paper provides an overview of the weaknesses of fitness centers in building member satisfaction in increasing member loyalty. The basis of this scientific article arises from the desire of researchers to measure the level of satisfaction felt by fitness members to build the loyalty of all members. The essence of the research idea is as a form of important ideas conveyed to build a positive level of satisfaction of fitness members through quality service to build the loyalty of members who are increasingly loyal to the center fitness. The sample in this study used all data on the number of center members’ fitness. Referring to the research objectives following the right tools using the Structural Equation Model PLS-based (SEM) with the right measuring scale in previous studies using a quantitative approach. Service quality cannot build member loyalty independently. Good service quality can build member loyalty through the mediation of member satisfaction. The results of this study can contribute to building high member loyalty along with building member satisfaction as a mediation of the level of service quality perceived by members.

Abstract The instructional lab setting has been found to be dominated by prescribed tasks and pre-prepared lab kits. This was explained by teachers’ need to guide students to simultaneously progress through a lab curriculum, which prompts them to standardize the lab experience. Nevertheless, prominent professional associations have persistently called to better represent experimental research practices in the lab, and to grant students more agency in the experimental process by orienting them towards more open-ended lab experiences. This paper reports a lab activity designed to advance students’ agency in the practice of experimental design, in a setting governed by a high-stakes national matriculation exam. Three hundred teachers of advanced level high-school physics experienced the lab activity in a national network of professional learning communities (PLCs). The activity was anchored in an experiment to determine the relationship between the current through a battery and its terminal voltage. It was designed to problematize students’ considerations underlying the choices of the location of the voltmeter and the measuring scale of the ammeter, and the possible implications for the validity of the experimental results; e.g. control of the variables, as well as the range and the accuracy of measurements. Teachers first performed the lab activity as learners, discussed it in the PLC meeting, and finally reflected on their experience. Individual responses to the lab worksheets and the reflections were analyzed. Initially, teachers’ considerations did not portray key aspects related to the validity of the experimental results, such as how design choices related to the location of the voltmeter and the ammeter measuring scale impacted the accuracy and range of the measurements and the control of variables. The teachers were highly engaged in the peer discussion in the PLC and found the lab activity valuable in raising students’ awareness of important considerations in experimental design.

Physicians are prone to psychological distress, and this has been poorly studied in association with religiousness. As a result, the prevalence of psychological distress among physicians and its relationship with religiousness was investigated. The study was conducted at two neuropsychiatric centers, and two teaching hospitals in the South-South and South-West regions of Nigeria. Demographics and practice-related characteristics of 231 physicians were collected in addition to report on psychological distress using the 12-item General Health Questionnaire, and a religiousness measuring scale, Ironson–Woods Spirituality/Religiosity Index. Chi-square and t-test analyses were done using SPSS version 19. The prevalence rate of significant psychological distress among physicians was 19.05%. The physicians’ specialty of practice fell short of statistically significant association with religiousness (X2=9.02, p=0.06). There was no significant association between physicians’ state of health and religiousness. Psychological distress is fairly common among physicians and shows no relationship with religiousness.

Background: Psychological contracts, and particularly the honouring of these contracts – are central to employee behaviour and organisational success. The interest of academics and practitioners in this construct is therefore understandable. However, due to the immense amount of information on the topic, a comprehensive review of the literature is necessary. Aim: The aim of this article is to present a critical review on the conceptualisation of the psychological contract, distilling and operationalising the concept, to ensure that debate and future research are linked to a dominant body of knowledge. Setting: Present literature on psychological contracts is fragmented as no conceptual standardisation exists. Method: A comprehensive literature review was conducted to obtain a large quantum of conceptualisations of the construct and evaluate these for breadth of adoption, consensus, and operationalisation. Results: After reviewing reputable sources published between 1960 and 2020, a standard definition proposed, the most recognised typologies specified, and sound measures identified. It was found that Rousseau’s (1995) definition and typologies (transactional and relational contracts) are still widely used, and that the measuring scale for transactional and relational contracts by Millward and Hopkins (1998) demonstrates good psychometric properties and broadly utilised. Conclusion: Since its inception, several amended definitions, typologies, and measurement of the psychological contract have been presented. Nonetheless, the original conceptualisations still seem to prevail. Managerial implications: Researchers and practitioners are now aware of the most widely adopted definitions, typologies and measuring instruments relating to psychological contract and these should guide them in future discussions and research in the field.

Alat ukur yang digunakan telah melalui uji coba terlebih dahulu, yaitu Skala Niat Berhenti Bekerja (a= 0.82), Skala Stres Kerja (a= 0.79), dan Skala CORPD (a= 0.75). Based on a recent study, psychological stress due to COVID-19 has an influence on turnover intention. This study aims to look at the role of covid-19 psychological distress on work stress and turnover intention for working mothers. The quantitative study was carried out during the COVID-19 pandemic by distributing online questionnaires using the accidental sampling technique. The measuring scale used have been tested beforehand on a pilot study, consist of Turnover Intention Scale (a= 0.82), Work Stress Scale (a= 0.79), and the CORPD Scale (a= 0.75). The results of the analysis using the Hayes PROCESS Model 1 shows that the interaction effect between work stress and covid-19 psychological distress on turnover intention was not significant (b=0.11, t(203)= 0.75, p > 0.01, Cl95%[-0.18, 0.40]). Thus, this can be concluded that the covid-19 psychological distress does not show a significant moderating effect, so it does not strengthen the relationship between work stress and the turnover intention.

Capacity measures are commonly used volume standards for testing measuring systems for liquids other than water. Manual readings from the measuring scale can often be difficult due to the location of the capacity measure or to the nature of the measured liquid. This article focuses on the automation of this procedure by using a single camera machine vision system. A camera positioned perpendicular to the transparent neck captures the image of the liquid meniscus and the measuring scale. The volume reading is determined with the user-defined software in the LabVIEW programming environment, which carries out the image preprocessing, detection of the scale marks and the liquid level, correction of lens distortion and parallax effects and final unit conversions. The realized measuring system for liquid level detection in standard capacity measures is tested and validated by comparing the automated measurement results with those taken by the operators. The results confirm the appropriateness of the presented measuring system for the field of legal metrology.
