We employed a differentiated goods market analysis where we utilized, in addition to the prevailing goods’ attributes, different types of the sellers’ attributes including trust indicators. We incorporated both sets of attributes into a structural model of the whole market including demand and pricing equations with the hotels as an outside good. Applying the model to Stockholm’s Airbnb market reveals that hosts’ attributes significantly affect market performance. Simulations of market scenarios show that the very high review scores and the Superhost certification help Airbnb compete with hotels and increase profitability. We also show that the “Airbnb plus” luxury program, which makes the apartments a closer substitute for hotels, leads to an increase in Airbnb’s market welfare. Our analysis provides a framework for understanding the full impact of the different attributes of the products, their providers, and their management in the sharing-economy accommodation market.

For an OFDMA system, the role of interleavers is analyzed to ensure fairness of BER performance among the active users and investigate their respective PAPR properties. In this paper, the authors consider a generic system and show that for a slowly changing multipath channel, individual user’s BER performance can vary, implying that the propagation channel effect is unfairly distributed on the users. Applying different types of frequency interleaving mechanisms, the authors demonstrate that random interleaving can ensure BER fairness on an individual user basis but the associated system overhead for de-interleaving is very high. In this context, the authors introduce the application of cyclically shifted random interleaver and demonstrate its effectiveness in achieving BER fairness (dispersion in individual users BER reduced by 94% compared to no interleaving at 20dB SNR) with little system overhead. The authors also explore the comparative performance of different interleavers for scenarios with varying number of total subcarriers and subcarriers per user. Based on the scenario specific results, the authors conclude that for a heavily loaded system, i.e., relatively low number of subcarriers per user, cyclically shifted random interleavers can effectively ensure uniform performance among active users with reduced system complexity and manageable PAPR.

This paper is devoted to an optimal perturbation (OP) which allows to qualify a capacity of the dynamical system to predict more or less correctly the system behaviour in the future. The different types of OPs, deterministic, stochastic, OP in an invariant subspace, are introduced. The theoretical results on the optimality of the introduced OPs are presented. The different simple and efficient numerical algorithms for computation of the OPs are outlined which constitute a basis for implementation of a stable adaptive filter in a very high dimensional environment.

The article deals with different types of headings with a phraseological component, which is motivated by the manipulative function of media. Thus, journalists resort to manipulation in media when they want to: (a) obscure factual information; (b) affect the mass consciousness of the Ukrainians; (c) focus on key positions of a media text. A phraseologism (as a certain verbal code of mass communication that is characterized by semantic indivisibility, integrity, emotionality and expressiveness) is used primarily to attract the attention of the recipient and to accentuate the main positions of a media text. The role of a phraseologism in the heading of a media text is very high: it is able to succinctly convey the meaning of the main text, motivate the recipient to perceive the material, be apt in the role of media nomination of the phenomenon described. In the context of information competitiveness, the chosen phraseologism-heading helps the media text to be noticed and read by the potential recipient. An attempt is made to classify phraseologisms-headings as the dominant of modern media texts by several criteria (structure, functions and genre affiliation). Such classification was made possible by the broad illustrative material: Ukrainian printed and electronic media, radio and television, advertising, the Internet (2019 – early 2020). Emphasis is made on the correction of the proposed classification due to the expansion of information space and the emergence of new genres with headings of new types. It is proved that a phraseologism-heading in media is used for: attracting the attention of the recipient, focusing on key information, clarifying on some facts, activating the background knowledge of the recipient, pre-comprehension and understanding the text, influencing the mass consciousness. The key goal of a phraseologism-heading remains manipulation. A phraseologism-heading is increasingly used by journalists in modern media communication.

While the use of vinegar to fi ght against infections and other crucial conditions dates back to Hippocrates, recent research has found that vinegar consumption has a positive effect on biomarkers for diabetes, cancer, and heart diseases. Different types of vinegar have been used in the world during different time periods. Vinegar is produced by a fermentation process. Foods with a high content of carbohydrates are a good source of vinegar. Review of the results of different studies performed on vinegar components reveals that the daily use of these components has a healthy impact on the physiological and chemical structure of the human body. During the era of Hippocrates, people used vinegar as a medicine to treat wounds, which means that vinegar is one of the ancient foods used as folk medicine. The purpose of the current review paper is to provide a detailed summary of the outcome of previous studies emphasizing the role of vinegar in treatment of different diseases both in acute and chronic conditions, its in vivo mechanism and the active role of different bacteria.

SummaryLiposomes of pure phospholipids were used in a modified APTT test system and the role of phosphatidyl serine (PS) in determining the sensitivity of the test system to the presence of lupus anticoagulants was assessed. Six consecutive patients with lupus anticoagulants and seven haemophiliacs with anticoagulants directed at specific coagulation factors, were studied. Increasing the concentration of phospholipid in the test system markedly reduced the sensitivity to lupus anticoagulants but had marginal effect on the specific factor inhibitors. The same effect was achieved when the content of PS alone was increased in a vehicle liposome of constant composition. The results suggest that the lupus anticoagulants can best be detected by a screening method using an APTT test with a reagent of low PS content. The use of a reagent rich in PS will largely abolish the lupus anticoagulant’s effect on the APTT. An approach using the two different types of reagent may facilitate differentiation of lupus inhibitors from other types of anticoagulant.

The article is devoted to the study of evaluative tools used in modern French media in order to form the media image of a representative of the political elite. The techniques used in the creation of a memorial media portrait of Jacques Chirac (1932—2019), President of France from 1995 to 2007 are considered. The research material was the most prestigious French print media of various political orientations, published in late September — early October 2019 in connection with the death of the ex-President of the French Republic. The relevance of the research topic is dictated by the close attention of modern linguistics to axiological phenomena, differently presented in different types of discursive practices. The novelty of the study is due to the appeal to the analysis of the complex of evaluation tools used in the French print media when characterizing the former leader of the state during the nation’s farewell period. The estimated potential of the title of the article and its influence on the formation of the estimated vector of the entire text of the publication are shown. A systematic analysis of the assessment expression means, reflected in the memorial media portrait of the politician, is given. The factors that influenced the peculiarities of their use in this type of media portrait are revealed.
