We analyze the content of components of The Navy of the Russian Federation as a type of the state armed forces. The methodological basis of this analysis was the interpretation of the concept of “content” in the context of the fact that it represents a set of elements that form the system of their interactions and the perspective changes caused by them. On the basis of the study of specialties of the Navy we produce a generalized integration of homogeneous types of professional activities of soldiers, based on the analysis of more than 300 heterogeneous names. It is specified that the Navy of the Russian Federation at the present stage of evolutionary development is a set of five relatively interrelated and mutually conditioned units: underwater forces and surface ships; flight-lifting structure of naval aviation; marines, combat swimmers, reconnaissance, sabotage and other special units; coastal anti-aircraft missile and artillery units; support services, radio engineering, communications, rear area, engineers and equipment, including naval aviation. The above-mentioned integration of the common structure of combat operations of specialists for the purpose is the basis for the development and availability of five appropriate utilized programs for physical training, since the physical readiness of military personnel is an integral part of the system of combat improvement of the fleet. Beyond the range of specialties we reveal the feasibility of separate sixth program of physical training for units of the Navy of the Russian Federation, involving, if necessary, to implement the peacekeeping functions in the areas of likely military action. The above approach of justification of the required optimal number of physical training programs on the management scale of fleet forces of the Russian Federation is for the first time applied in the theory and technique of physical training of the military personnel.

In the early 1900s it was thought that exercise directly stimulated growth; however, by the end of the century it was suggested that young athletes were selected based on inherited physical attributes that enhanced performance success. In this paper, the physical attributes and normal patterns of growth of young athletes, both competitive and recreational, are discussed. Specifically, the paper addresses the question, Are young athletes born with physical attributes suited to a sport or does sport training produce these physical attributes? Variability in the tempo and timing of normal growth and development is addressed, and its relevance and influence on youth talent identification is discussed. This is pertinent in today’s context of sport specialization at relatively young ages. Regular physical training is only one of many factors that could affect child growth; however, distinguishing influences of training programs on growth from those associated with normal growth and development is problematic.

The article investigates the influence of kettlebell lifting on the level of women’s health during training in a higher military educational institution. Recently, there has been a significant increase in the number of girls wishing to enter the higher military educational institutions. At the same time, girls’ health levels are insufficient to master military specialties. This makes it important to find effective ways to improve their health during study. The study involved female cadets of 1–2 courses (n=47) of P. Koroliov Zhytomyr Military Institute. Two groups were formed: the experimental (EG, n=21), whose women were engaged in kettlebell lifting training, and the control (CG, n=26), whose women were engaged in the current physical training system. The health study was carried out according to the methodology of Professor G. L. Apanasenko, which is based on anthropometry and the state of the cardiovascular system. The methodology consisted in determining the amount of points for each of the 5 indicators: body  mass index, vital capacity index, power index, Robinson index, heart rate recovery time. It was found that the level of physical health in women who were engaged in kettlebell lifting training was significantly higher at the end of the study than in women who were engaged in the current physical training system. The most pronounced effect of kettlebell lifting was found on the functionality of the cardiorespiratory system, power qualities and stabilization of body weight in EG female cadets. The results of the conducted researches testify to the rather high efficiency of kettlebell lifting in promotion of health of female military personnel during training in higher education institutions. The level of health formed in the first and second years of study will increase the body’s resistance to unfavorable factors of educational activity, improve the efficiency of the performance of duties and the development of military- applied skills in female cadets during senior courses of education.

The objective is to determine methodological approaches to pedagogical control of motor readiness of girls aged 6-10. Materials and methods. The participants in the experiment were girls aged 6 (n = 36), aged 7 (n = 48), aged 8 (n = 57), aged 9 (n = 38), aged 10 (n = 46). To achieve the tasks set, the research relied on the following methods: analysis of scientific and methodological literature, pedagogical testing and methods of mathematical statistics. The testing program consisted of well-known tests. As a modeling method, the research used factor and discriminant analyses.Results. The analysis of the factor and discriminant model of motor readiness has provided information necessary for making decisions in physical education management, as well as for developing effective physical training programs for girls aged 6-10.Conclusions. The girls aged 6-10 show a multifactorial structure of motor readiness. By analyzing the common features, the research has defined informative tests of motor readiness control for each age group. During the analysis, the research has calculated the canonical discriminant function coefficients (non-standardized), which act as the factors of specified variable values included in the discriminant functions. On their basis, it is possible to classify the girls by their level of motor readiness according to the age, which is of practical value.
