One major characteristic of studies in operations and supply chain management literature is a focus on how integration can lead to superior operations and manufacturing outcomes. Most of these studies, however, focus only on internal or external integration and few have been dedicated to understand how both internal and external integration influence performance outcomes. In addition, few studies, if any, have looked to the antecedents of organizational structure as a driver for such forms of integration. To help filling this gap, we draw on organizational structure and resource-based view theoretical perspectives to present a conceptual model that proposes a relationship between organizational structure and integration. The model also considers major antecedents of organizational structure and the manufacturing performance consequences of integration. As a result, we introduce a series of propositions to be subject to empirical scrutiny as well as serve as a reference for future conceptual and empirical models.

Responsible supply chain management (RSCM) as a growing sub-field of supply chain management (SCM) has gathered increasing consideration from both practitioners and academics for the past two decades. Even though manufacturing firms have implemented RSCM behaviors through this period, there exist, some concerns as to whether these RSCM behaviors are being applied for the effect they have on environmental performance. In recent times, various debates have been opened concerning this RSCM paradox, throwing doubt on whether an investment in the implementation of RSCM behaviors certainly comes with a corresponding environmental performance outcome and, therefore, the commercial benefits of responsibility management in the context of SCM remain open for interrogation. The aim of this study is to explore the impact of responsible supply chain management behaviors on environmental performance among pharmaceutical companies in China. In addition, investigate the intervening roles of process innovation and supply chain integration as mediating and moderating constructs respectively. The research hypothesis were formulated following an extensive study of relevant literature and were based on resource and capability-based theories such as the resource based view, the natural resource based view and the stakeholder theories. The design of the study was explanatory with a confirmatory reach, applied to 123 Chinese pharmaceutical firms selected across, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Zhejiang and Guangdong provinces. The proposed theoretical model was tested using partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM). The empirical findings of the study confirmed that an effective application of RSCM behaviors, process innovation(PI), and supply chain integration(SCI) initiatives positively and significantly improves environmental performance outcomes. This confirms the position of extant literature that there is a positive relationship between RSCM behaviors’ and environmental performance. It also validated the position that process innovation and supply chain integration positively mediates and moderates respectively the relationship between RSCM and environmental performance. Therefore, the findings herein can be considered as complementary to the existing body of knowledge in the field. The practical implications derived from this study will contribute to sustainable development and expand knowledge both in industry and in academia

In order to respond to competitive pressures, managers need to know more about the strategic aspects of supply chain management. This paper addresses this need by critically reviewing the supply chain management literature and by suggesting a research agenda for the future. A conceptual model is provided which helps to identify certain assumptions made in the literature that must be challenged. The model also provides a tool for identifying the major contributions in the literature. Finally, a research agenda is developed.

Sustainability, the simultaneous management of economic, environmental and social dimensions in a supply chain is a challenging research area in supply chain management. Researchers have adopted different techniques to integrate the three components of sustainability. But the relationship between different sustainability initiatives and the performance outcomes are still to be analyzed systematically. In the present study, the review of various works published in sustainable supply chain management domain is carried out with a hybrid method of meta-analysis and content analysis. The research papers were selected based on different theories of sustainable development. The theories considered in the present study are the following; theory of population ecology, resource-based view theory, natural resource-based view theory, resource dependence theory, stakeholder theory, and transaction cost economics theory. The developments in the sustainable supply chain management area and the methodologies used for modelling and analysis are reviewed using this hybrid method by carefully analyzing the literature published during the period 2005-2017. This review will enable researchers in identifying the potential areas for research on sustainable supply chain management.

As green marketing is a critical function of green supply chain management, it has generated a great deal of discussion in public discourse and academic research. Interestingly, there is a gap in the research on how a company can effectively invest and manage various green marketing activities. Thus this paper aims to introduce a grey multiple criteria decision-making methodology to investigate the relationships between green marketing activities and performance outcomes (environmental and business performance). This paper seeks to make the following contributions to the green supply chain management literature. First, review the literature to identify implementation activities for green marketing from green supply chain management literature. Second, develop a methodology to evaluate relationships of green marketing activities by integrating grey number and rough set method. Third, obtain various decision rules relating the various green marketing activities to the environmental and/or business performance outcomes through an illustrative application within an incomplete information system. Knowing those rules to help in the implementation, management, and evaluation of these green marketing activities is valuable to both researchers and practitioners. Included in the discussion are insights into how these rules for individual and aggregated performance (environmental, business, and joint performance) may be evaluated. Practical and research implications of this work are detailed in the final section of this paper.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to present a conceptual framework for performance measurement (PM) for the integration of supply chain management (SCM) and quality management (QM). Design/methodology/approach A systematic literature review on SCM and QM was conducted to develop key performance measures related to six areas of integration between QM and SCM: leadership; continuous improvement and innovation; sustainability performance; stakeholders; information system; and management and strategic planning. Findings Supported by the literature concerning to supply chain quality management (SCQM) integration, a set of nine propositions about performance measures, that contribute to the integration of SCQM, were developed. Originality/value This study contributes to QM practices within a supply chain environment from an integrated perspective. Additionally, the propositions have significant implications from both managerial and theoretical perspectives. This study also extends the concept of supply chain quality integration by focusing on key aspects of PM that may help to improve the overall performance of the supply chain.

Malaysia has recently started to adopt sustainable business best practices to benefit companies, environment and stakeholders. Therefore, this study demonstrates pathways to sustainable supply chain triple bottom line performance derived from linkages of institutional pressures (IP) and organizational identity (OI) to environment and social sustainable practices. It shows that the superordinate goal of sustainable supply chain management is met in spite of unyielding external pressures and desirable OI driving the unequivocal environmental and responsible social practices of firms. A survey approach was adopted to gather the data required for this study. A total of 118 completed questionnaires were received from respondents, who were managers and senior executives in supply chain management (SCM) in Malaysia. The data were analyzed using structural equation modeling with partial least squares (PLS-SEM) version 3.0. Our findings showed that all hypothesized relationships are significant except both process- and market-based social practices could not directly impact economic performance. This is in sharp contrast to environmental practices. However, the significant linkage between social practices and social performance is a pathway for the former to economic performance. Therefore, the economic benefits derived from social practices are salvaged through its performance outcomes. The novel and useful impact of institutional pressures on sustainable supply chain practices are also unearthed.

Abstract The process of Outsourcing Logistics Service (OLS) is deemed incipient in the management of organizations, not only because of the operational problems it presents, but also of its difficulties fitting into the company’s overall strategy. The present theoretical study, building on the resource-based view of the firm, aims to propose a framework that guides managers in developing strategies to OLS starting from the operational structure to establish the necessary resources, capabilities, and routines. In addition, taken into account is the importance of analyzing risks and resilience in the environment, concomitantly with the analysis of the operational structure. Thus, four questions were developed, aimed at leading operations managers to reflect on the development of the strategy. The framework proposed for OLS considers the supply chain management department as the main interlocutor of the strategy. This framework can be adapted according with the necessity of the contracting company, and its main intention is to enable the establishment of a project that contemplates the necessary resources, the capabilities (criteria), and the operational routines (subcriteria) for the selection of a logistics service provider in the market, one which truly addresses the needs of the organization. This framework is already intrinsic in the practical actions of the authors, because of their extensive advisory activity over the last five years in OLS to logistics service provider. In addition, it is worth mentioning that so far in the tacit applications of this framework there has been no application similar to another.

Supply chain is an organizational system in which there are roles and perform various activities, including information, funds and other resources that are interrelated in the movement of a product or service from supplier to customer. One typical supply chain management is internal supply chain management, where is one of the integrated activities that plays an important role in the operational performance of the company, but in Covid-19 pandemic era every country including PT. AST Indonesia has implemented the Covid-19 health protocols along with their government role, WHO’s role also International Safety standard such as OHSA. Internal supply chain is composed strategic purchasing, production and distribution exactly will have affected by this health protocols. Some researchers have published many factors that influence the performance of the company like quality, flexibility, innovation but also important to study the relevant thing with Covid-19 health protocols. In this paper, we proposed a conceptual model consist of Covid-19 health protocols, strategic purchasing, production, and distribution to sustain company operational performance. AHP method is use in this research to find the dominant influencing protocol factor that affecting in making of ISCM sustainability strategy.
