Purpose The purpose of this paper is to present a literature review that aims to provide insight into the characteristics and effectiveness of supply chain visibility (SCV), as well as to identify metrics that capture these aspects in business processes. Design/methodology/approach A systematic review of the supply chain literature is conducted to identify the characteristics and the effectiveness of SCV. The synthesis of SCV effectiveness and its metrics are based on the process-oriented approach which relates the effectiveness of SCV to improved business performance. Findings This study reveals that the characteristics of SCV can be captured in terms of the accessibility, quality, and usefulness of information. The benefits of SCV are found to extend beyond improvements to operational efficiency of business processes or to the strategic competencies of an organization. Practical implications This study underlines that clear agreements between all players involved in the SC can help to solve problems caused by information completeness (type and amount of information), and unlock the full potential of SCV projects. Originality/value By using a process-oriented approach, this review provides a comprehensive explanation of the functions of SCV, as well as its first-order effects, in terms of automational, informational, and transformational characteristics.

Nowadays, organizations conduct change projects based on reengineering processes because business processes reengineering (BPR) methodologies implement process-oriented approach. By this view governmental organizational also utilizes such methodology. One of the main practical issues of such implementation is about using BPR methodology in relief organization. On the other hand, Iran has been faced with an increase of accidents in various forms. Thus having more efficiency in relief agencies to deal with these accidents and maintain readiness in the face of threats is essential. Relief agencies should be covered by the Unexpected Disasters Center in order to carry out their missions and duties perfectly. Therefore, familiarity with the tasks of each group is inevitable. Given the foregoing, the main objective of this study is to investigate how we can develop a reengineering project based on BPR approaches in Iran relief agencies. By this we propose a new model for reengineering which has the main capabilities of general models in BPR methodology. In addition, we show the prerequisites of implementing new model in Iran Unexpected Disasters Center.

Strategic support of the company’s work in the international market requires a complete restructuring of business processes in a crisis situation and improvement of the company's relations with both consumers and producers. The necessity to form a combined production cycle to reduce competition should not be overlooked. The dynamics of the formation of modern enterprise forms the need for a constant analysis of emerging investment proposals. The novelty of the study is determined by the fact that the company must ensure a change in the format of work when entering the international market and identify the possibilities of strategic formation of financial and organizational reserves for the possibility of autonomous provision of activity for several production cycles. The authors show that in order to understand the development strategy, the enterprise needs to integrate diagnostic tools into the system of production indicators, which can provide an integrated assessment of the quality of enterprise management. The practical significance of the study is determined by the need to formulate an enterprise development strategy for a period of up to five years. The main value should be determined in the structure of ensuring the damping of crisis phenomena in the context of stagnation of industrial production, demand and financial markets of the state. This will allow to unify investment and anti-crisis development strategies.

The purpose of the scientific article is to study the process of certification of products as one of the means of ensuring the competitiveness of a modern enterprise, stimulating management to meet the requirements of consumers and expand sales markets. It was found that different participants in the certification process understand it differently: enterprise management believes that this is a procedure for documentary certification of the conformity of products or processes to the established regulatory requirements; the certification body considers this to be an examination and certification activity subject to compliance. On the basis of the research carried out, the constitutive attributes of product certification as a means of increasing the competitiveness of an enterprise have been systematized and the definition of the concept of “certification” has been formulated. The authors put forward a number of hypotheses: certification is a means of increasing the competitiveness of an enterprise as a result of demonstrating the ability of an enterprise to meet generally accepted requirements for representatives of a certain sphere or industry; competitiveness depends on the availability of certified specialists with a certain level of qualifications working at the enterprise and qualitatively improve internal processes; continuous cyclical certification affects the competitiveness of the enterprise in the future. Prospects for further research are to conduct an experiment to confirm the facts of the impact of product certification and business processes on increasing the competitiveness of the enterprise. The authors also noted that certification should not be confused with attestation. Certification assumes a completely independent and principled assessment, carried out by employees of certification bodies who have no connection with the enterprise. Among other things, the authors came to the conclusion that one of the advantages of product certification is their personal interest in confirming their own professionalism, and, consequently, obtaining opportunities for future career growth. Also, one of the considered hypotheses proves that there is an evolution of the enterprise, as a result of periodic changes and additions to the existing norms and standards of certification.

Development of an effective logistics infrastructure for companies contributes to ensuring their effective work, directly affects financial performance and requires the establishment of a management and accounting system for logistics costs. Classifying and registering logistics costs becomes more important in this regard. At this stage of Ukrainian accounting practice, there are challenges for logistics costs accounting such as their identification and registration. Methodological basis of study among different logistics concepts (concept of general logistics costs, concept of reengineering business processes in logistics, concept of an integrated logistics strategy, concept of supply chain management) was total logistics costs concept or the concept of full value as well as process-oriented approach. In the work, the generalization and formalization of existing approaches to the logistics costs accounting was made. Feasibility of using a process-oriented approach among other approaches (absorption costing, direct costing target costing, kaizen costing, etc.) were substantiated. The algorithm of identification and registration of logistics costs for Ukrainian enterprises was proposed. It is based on such inclusion in the relevant economic process (supply, production, sales and administration of logistics processes) and the use of a new consolidated account 29 “Logistics costs”. This authors’ approach to solving the problem of identification and registration of logistics costs for accounting purposes allows to optimize and increase the informativeness of accounting logistics costs reflection in Ukrainian accounting practice.
