With man’s appearance on the earth everything of his existence, functioning and development was provided by a targeted impact on the environment. Expressing this impact the process of setting and achieving goals is now defined as a universal management of the widest range of objects, most notably human society. Naturally, this process became a matter of practical observation, applied research, theory building, causing over time, formation of management science. The initiator, founder and organizer of the first in our country scientific school of management theory and of the Department, got in the beginning, the name “Scientific fundamentals of production management” of the Moscow Engineering Economic Institute, became doctor of economic Sciences, Professor Kozlova Olympiada Vasil’evna. She united and directed the research and teaching activities of scientists and practitioners to the design, development and application of holistic management theory. Today it has become one of the fundamental principles of presentation and development of contemporary management science.

In this chapter, the authors offer advice to business faculty at Catholic colleges and universities about how a robust and realistic conception of the human person can inform their teaching. This research can support faculty of mission-driven schools of business as they seek to operationalize the implications of the religious affiliation of their institutions. The authors begin by sketching the evolution of management theory over the last century and how theory has changed to represent a fuller and more accurate account of the nature of persons in organizations. They show how the consistent prescriptions of more than a century of Catholic social thought (CST) parallel those now offered by management scholarship. The authors note, however, that though the content of the advice coming from these respective traditions of thought has converged, the grounds of that advice continue to differ in important ways. They conclude by recommending that business faculty embrace and adopt the conception of the person now largely shared between CST and contemporary management theory.

AbstractThis chapter studies how the management theory of digital animation studios like Pixar Animation has been influenced by the paradigms that premise their unpredictable algorithmic animations. This epistemic frame leads Pixar to represent creativity as the unpredictable product of carefully controlled conditions and parameters. This collapse of technology, animation, and management science helps to sculpt Pixar’s own corporate image as both an animation studio and a technology company. These findings nuance existing accounts of post-Fordist labor in creative industries.

This work presents the general aspects concerning the accessibility and usability of the learning tools existent for smart materials development using eco-design in the context of the circular economy. These learning tools will be used in part and some of them developed in the framework of the Erasmus+ project DigiTEX and will cover also the aspects of digital learning technologies capable to accelerate innovation in the field of healthcare and protective systems based on electroconductive materials. In DigiTEX Erasmus+ project will be developed solution-based software technologies, database development and creative methods for coaching the innovative ideas from design, development and production management in the context of circular economy and sustainable development with reduced environmental impact. This paper is structured in 5 sections such as introduction, smart materials overview, eco-design for smart materials, circular economy approach and conclusions.

Among the possible fields in human society in which robotics can be applied, the possibility of a robotic guard has been imagined since long time. Human guards usually perform a range of tasks in which a robot can provide help. Security personnel not only perform security tasks and patrolling services, but also have to interact with people, providing additional information about the area they safeguard. In this paper, we present the design, development and preliminary tests of RobotMan, an anthropomorphic robot commissioned by a security company that should serve in security roles, such as patrolling large indoor areas and acting as a telepresence platform for the human guards, and guidance roles such as welcoming visitors and providing information. In the preliminary experiment, the new robot and a human guard were employed the roles of security and guidance in a manufacturing center. The results of the experiment collected from 96 participants highlighted differences in participants’ behavior when interacting with the robot rather than the human and a different perception of likeability and authority of the robot depending on subtle differences in its appearance and behavior. These results provide useful indication for the employment of robot guards in a real world situation.

Contemporary management theory is not a single theory. By its very nature, management is a complex process and a multidisciplinary field of study. Contemporary management is a synthesis of the classical, behavioural, quantitative and modern management movements. One of the keys to successful management is the ability to understand and apply modern management principles and techniques effectively. Studying fundamental concepts provides a foundation that effective managers of the future need in terms of understanding techniques, organizational cultures and theories. Awareness and willingness of management to incorporate a variety of management theories and tools as the organization constantly changes are keys to gaining and maintaining competitive advantage over others.

ABSTRACTThe change of function of KPLT FT UNY Building Hall in the last five years is quite high. In the beginning, the KPLT Building Hall was only to support ospek, yudisium and faculty work meeting. Functions that require the fulfilment of vertical transportation (lift) that is the ceremony dies and syawalan big family of the faculty. The elevator is necessary because the occupation hall is not just people, but also catering equipment for parties. The purpose of this research 1) to determine the capacity of the building elevators KPLT, 2) determine the layout of elevators KPLT building, and 3) the form of the building facade lift KPLT FT UNY. The type of this research is design development, which refers to 4 D Thiagarajan. The results of the study can be shown 1) the elevator capacity for the building KPLT FT UNY is a passenger lift for 10 people, with two doors opening to the side, 2) The location of the FN UNY building elevator UNY in accordance with visibility, accessibility and freeway structure is on the front side east hall, 3) The appropriate elevator support structure for FT UNY building is steel structure because it is an additional construction, while for scopes using GRC, ACP or plastic composite material. Keywords: Accessibility, Elevator layout, KPLT building.ABSTRAKPerubahan fungsi Aula Gedung KPLT FT UNY dalam lima tahun terakhir cukup tinggi.

Systematizing the basic organizational statements, modern science is the base of structure and interaction in any of the studied area. In turn, submitted by the form, disclosed by the content and classified and determined organization becomes a necessary basis for the construction of any science, and each discipline. General organizational beginning of the formation and development of a system of knowledge, and the action, justify and represent a wide variety of scientific schools, based on mutual understanding of their organization. Formation of the organizational direction of the scientific school of management theory defines the scope of the fundamental notions of order, shape, structure, procedures and methods of construction, design and reflection of all existing and submitted to processes and systems.
