When implementing the technological process in the forest for logging operations, various factors influence, as well as taxation indicators such as (average diameter, height of the stand, reserve per hectare, availability of growth, completeness, etc.), natural climatic factors (Soil type carrying capacity of soils, depth of snow cover, etc.), degree of operator training, etc. One of the main tasks of rational justification of the technological process of cutting areas development is to find and combine controlled factors, at which performance indicators would be extreme. The most suitable variant of the technological development of the cutting area assumes what should be the intensity of logging, the layout of the cutting area, the number of loading points, and the productivity of harvesting machines. This task will be solved taking into account the influence of logging equipment and technology on the forest environment. The state of the stand left for growing after selective felling and its further development depends on the machine systems used in logging operations. The most important factor in the development of felling areas is the degree of intensity of felling. Since the quality of logging operations will depend on the method of cutting in the development of the cutting area (from the point of view of the impact on the natural environment, the soil cover, the left part of the stand, the adolescent).

Reducing the duration of construction works requires additional organizational measures, such as selecting construction methods that assure a shorter realization time, engaging additional resources, working overtime, or allowing construction works to be performed simultaneously in the same working units. The simultaneous work of crews may affect the quality of works and the efficiency of construction processes. This article presents a simulation model aimed at assessing the impact of the overlap period on the extension of the working time of the crews and the reduction of a repetitive project’s duration in random conditions. The purpose of simulation studies is to provide construction managers with guidelines when deciding on the dates of starting the sequential technological process lines realized by specialized working crews, for sustainable scheduling and organization of construction projects.

The concept of development has been interpreted in different ways from past to present. This concept was discussed previously on economic, social and cultural aspects; but now it has transformed into concepts like human capital, education, health, innovation, technological development and poverty. A country needs producing for development, and it is necessary to increase efficiency for obtaining profits from this production. At this point the inclination to R&D and innovation is increasing. Today, it is experiencing the transition of a new era. This process can be distinguished by technological change resulted from knowledge creation, innovation and R&D. In addition to the production factors, knowledge and technology have become indispensable where the importance is increasing. R&D and innovation are seen as factors which are increasing economic growth, prosperity and quality of life and which provide competitiveness and productivity growth between countries. In this study, R&D and innovation activities are evaluated and their importance are highlighted in the issue of development for emerging markets. The increasing R&D and innovation projects provided that resources are using more effectively and efficiently by contributing to the development of emerging markets. The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of R&D and innovation on development by considering sample emerging markets economies and to make the attention of the scientific community focus on these issues.

The task of improving the quality of agricultural tools by improving the technological processes of their functioning, taking into account the kinematic features of the combined impact of working elements of tools on the soil environment is important from a scientific and technical point of view. To form the required structure and density of the soil layer at the depth of sowing, a hammer perforated tillage roller (HPTR) has been developed. The study aim is to improve the quality of post-sowing compaction and structuring of the soil layer in the seed location zone based on the development of an innovative design of HPTR that combines different effects on the treated environment. The object of research is the kinematic mode of operation of the HPTR, equipped with cylindrical hammers installed at the ends of the rod, which, in turn, are radially and pivotally installed on the axis of the gunFeature of offered HPTR is the excitation of hammer vibrations, which changes the kinematic parameters of the tillage tool as a whole. Lagrange equations of the second kind are used to describe the process of HPTR operation, which is represented as a system of material objects with several degrees of freedom. The conducted studies revealed the periodic nature of changes in the strength of the impact of HPTR on the soil. The obtained equations allow us to determine the features of the HPTR movement at different masses of a hollow perforated cylinder and cylindrical hammers. This is of great importance for increasing the efficiency of soil bolster destruction and creating the soil structure recommended for winter crops sown in the Middle Volga region.

The presented study examines the comparative characteristics of industrial revolution targets, national goals, and strategic objectives for the development of the Russian economy; proposes methods for measuring and evaluating technological development; describes its impact on economic growth and shows the performance of enterprises.Aim. The study aims to determine the specific features of formation of economic and social development targets and the potential of new technologies, including breakthrough technologies, for shaping the technological development of the Russian economy; to propose methods for measuring and evaluating technological development and its impact on the growth and development of the national economy that would improve the quality of economic and managerial decision-making.Tasks. The authors clarify the interpretation of the concept of breakthrough technologies; identify distinctive features in the formation of industrial revolution targets and priority targets for the development of the Russian economy; substantiate methodological approaches to identifying parameters and indicators, methods for measuring and evaluating the level of technological development, its impact on the results of changes in economic growth and development of the national economy and its economic entities.Methods. The authors use the methods of scientific research, theoretical and comparative analysis, synthesis, generalization, general theory of economic growth, and elements of the economic efficiency theory.Results. The interpretation of breakthrough technologies as dominant new technologies that can ensure accelerated progressive development of the economy and minimize damage to the natural environment is clarified. The distinctive features of formation of industrial revolution targets and their relationship with the targets for the development of the Russian economy are identified. Evaluative features are substantiated; indicators for measuring and evaluating the transformation of the technological development of enterprises engaged in different activities and indicators for measuring and evaluating the impact of new technologies, including breakthrough technologies, on economic growth and development are proposed. The influence of the recommended measurement and evaluation methods on improving the quality of management decisions is shown.Conclusions. The study substantiates the need to improve methods for assessing the actual achieved (projected, planned) level of technological development as a necessary prerequisite for its qualitative analysis, evaluation, control, and monitoring required to make sound economic and managerial decisions. The proposed methods for measuring and evaluating technological development, measuring and evaluating the impact of new technologies, including breakthrough technologies, on the quality of economic growth, efficiency and competitiveness of the national economy (region, industry, activity, enterprises) improve the quality of managerial decision-making in achieving national goals for the development of the national economy.

The chapter explores a methodological approach where creativity is encouraged through the production of multimodal iPad-mediated narrative texts in the English as a foreign language classroom (EFL) in secondary education. The study, which is based on creativity of human language, evaluates the multimodal productions of a group of students of secondary education (Year 7) in Spain, who work with iPads (1:1 context) within a cooperative learning approach, and analyzes this learning experience from the students' point of view. The results show the impact multimodality has on the own students and on their way of working with the foreign language. The quality of their productions, not only regarding language but also as an act of creation, and the way they appropriate the different semiotic modes multimodality offers will also be examined. Finally, the authors suggest some guidelines to encourage multimodal production and creativity in the EFL secondary classroom and show examples which would help teachers and researchers to develop new didactic proposals at this stage.

What is the impact of crime on the average individual in this country? What is the impact of the fear of crime on the quality of life in the United States? These questions are addressed in this article not from the point of view of an expert, or of an official in the criminal justice system, or of a victim of crime, but from that of an average person whose experience has included no direct encounter with crime of any kind. Those who have been victims of crime and those affected even indirectly by criminal behavior will react, naturally, with predictable concern; crime also has discernible effects on the attitudes and behavior of people generally, and this impact in turn has a corrosive effect on the quality of life in America.

Abstract Climate change and consequent variations in temperature pose a significant challenge for sustaining wheat production systems globally. In this study, the potential impact of rising temperature on wheat yield in the north Indian plains, India's major wheat growing region, was analyzed using panel data from the year 1981 to 2009. This study deviates from the majority of the previous studies by including non-climatic factors in estimating the impact of climate change. Two temperature measures were used for fitting the function, viz., Growing Season Temperature (GST) and Terminal Stage Temperature (TST), to find out the differential impact of increased temperature at various growth stages. Analysis revealed that there was a significant rise in both GST as well as TST during the study period. The magnitude of the annual increment in TST was twice that of GST. Wheat yield growth in the region was driven primarily by increased input resources such as fertilizer application and technological development like improved varieties and management practices. Most importantly, the study found that the extent of yield reduction was more significant for an increase in temperature at terminal crop growth stages. The yield reduction due to unit increase in TST was estimated to be 2.26 % while rise in GST by 1◦C resulted in yield reduction of 2.03%.

Skin diseases have become one of the most relevant problem due to their global prevalence and intensive growth nowadays. Significantly increased the interest in studying of the life quality of patients with acute and chronic dermatological diseases. The life quality of the patient is the most objective characteristic of the impact of the disease on the patient's condition and various areas of his activity. Emotional or social disorders caused by the disease often do not allow the patient to feel full and healthy person even if clinical recovery. The peculiarities of patients' perception of somatic disease significantly affect both on its course and on the effectiveness of therapeutic measures. Skin diseases form an aspect of life quality that can be dangerous for the prognosis. Dermatological diseases can lead to significant limitations in the physical, emotional and social aspects of patients' lives and can interfere with success in learning and at work, as well as in personal life. In dermatology to assess the quality of life of patients are used: general medical scales, special dermatological scales, dermatological scales for certain nosologies. Purpose — to analyze literary datas on the research methods of life quality in children with dermatological diseases. Conclusions. Determining and evaluating indicators of life quality in patients is a valuable and reliable indicator of the general condition, that allows to monitor the effectiveness of treatment depending on the patient's condition and creates an objective picture of the disease. Assessment of quality of life in patients with dermatological diseases makes it possible to understand the essence of the clinical problem, to determine the most rational method of treatment, as well as to assess its expected results by parameters that are at the intersection between the scientific approach and the patient's point of view. This paper uses the Zon and Muysken (2001) model to investigate the effect of increasing the retirement age on health care production, human capital accumulation, and economic growth. All three sectors are interrelated, since the overall level of health affects both workers and the accumulation of human capital, while a higher level of human capital is related to better quality of health. And, finally, health and human capital affect the output of the economy. From the economic growth point of view the results seem to be positive. Increasing labor availability raises productivity in the health sector, which ultimately improves labor productivity, resulting in increased capital accumulation and economic growth. On the other hand, it is estimated a reduction in the propensity to consume and a smaller portion of the labor force allocated in the health sector.
