This paper focuses on how digital innovation develops in ecologies of distributed heterogeneous actors with contesting logics, diverse technologies, and various forms of orchestrations. Drawing on the insights from emerging theories of digital innovation augmented by an institutional logics perspective, we examine a case study of how residential internet infrastructure was shaped over 20 years by the interplay of self-organized residential communities, corporate internet service providers (ISPs), and a state ISP. Our analysis of this case leads to the identification of four types of interactions that shape the trajectories of digital infrastructure development beyond direct actor interplays and competitive or collaborative relationships. We label these interactions symbiotic generative, symbiotic mutualistic, parasitic complementary, and parasitic competitive and explain the processes and conditions of their development and their innovation outcomes. Drawing on these findings, we develop a model of symbiotic and parasitic interactions shaping digital infrastructure development and identify key characteristics of the ecologies where these emerge. The case study and the model that emerged aim to contribute to the growing field of research on complex and nonlinear paths of digital innovation development constituted by the dynamics of its distributed agency. The article concludes by highlighting avenues for future research.

The COVID-19 pandemic has placed unprecedented demands upon digital infrastructure as large portions of the population work, socialize and attend school online. National regulators worldwide have been struggling to maintain service for all citizens as the essential place of internet access in contemporary life becomes paramount. This article narrows the policy focus from the national to the municipal level. Using the case study of Calgary, Canada, the authors outline a unique and successful private–public partnership where local internet service providers have been able to adapt to the changing demands of the COVID era, supported by forward-thinking municipal policy. The authors draw upon local data sources, municipal reports and interviews with key public and private sector officials to explore how municipalities can best position themselves to provide resilient and sustainable digital service in the face of this global pandemic.

<span>This paper presents a design of 3D modeling of Multimode and Single Mode Fiber using SolidWorks. Fiber technology is essential that presents optical fiber is the fastest optical cable laid by Internet Service Providers in network communication. The current design of both fibers has less detail animation on technical specifications of light propagations and cladding. Thus, characterization difficulties occur between this two fiber optics cables. It also has less promotion in media publications such as 3D model design as guidance to users. This paper presents details on 3D modeling of multimode mode and single mode fiber specifications held in the industry market.  A 3D design with SolidWorks and comparison of both fiber characteristics are presented. Based on the 3D designed model, users are analyzed on their perspective and searching information which benefits telecommunication’s company. Technical calculations like core-cladding diameter ratio in microns are animated. The propagation of light in 3D single mode and multimode fiber is simulated using SolidWorks animator that presents it real fiber conditions. Result presents 10 most country searching used of both fiber cables and the difference in users search for both cables. A number of user’s search presents 3% more of multimode than single mode fiber search cases. This research is significant in presenting an animator of single and multimode fiber to users of network infrastructure development especially network developers and Telecommunications Company which can present it lively with animator transitions.</span>

As e-commerce is increasingly critical to organizational survival in the 21st century global marketplace, business organizations are challenged with selecting the best payment alternatives to meet both their requirements and the needs of their customers. This paper develops and validates a performance-based tool, the Electronic Payment Efficacy Quotient (EPEQ), designed to assist merchants in selecting the appropriate EPS and measuring effectiveness. The research aims at addressing the need for EPS research to aid merchant selection and use of EPS. The paper presents the case study of a single source Internet Service Provider (ISP), which was analyzed to determine merchant’s needs regarding EPS and develop measures. Historical data was then used to determine and test the validity of the most effective alternative measures. The paper concludes with recommendations for future research to assist in optimizing merchant use of EPS.

In 2016, Kompas initiated a new journalistic product, namely news writing, a type of longform journalism called Virtual Interactive Compass (VIK). This platform is designed in such a way as to present in-depth news writing and enriched with interactivity elements from the multimedia aspect. Millennials are one of the young generation who live in the digital era and online networks. The Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association (APJII) declared this generation as the most internet users as of October 2016. The purpose of this study is to find out what factors are becoming millennial interest in VIK through four aspects, namely modality, accessability, interactivity, navigability. This research is a descriptive qualitative research with case study method. Data collection techniques in this study used in-depth interviews, literature studies, and also online data search. The results of this study are changes in the form of in-depth news writing type preferred by the melenial generation, VIK longform journalism news presentation is considered informative and interesting with multimedia elements by millennials, and millennial generation is proven in daily use of gadgets, as well as finding information. Di Tahun 2016, Kompas menggagas sebuah produk jurnalistik baru yaitu penulisan berita jenis longform journalismyang diberi nama Virtual Interaktif Kompas (VIK). Platform ini dirancang sedemikian rupa untuk menyajikan tulisan berita yang mendalam dan diperkaya dengan unsur interaktivitas dari aspek multimedia. Kaum Milenial merupakan salah satu generasi muda yang hidup dalam era digital serta jaringan online. Asosiasi Penyelenggara Jasa Internet Indonesia (APJII) menyatakan generasi ini sebagai pengguna Internet terbanyak per Oktober 2016. Tujuan dari penelitian ini ingin mengetahui faktor apa yang menjadi ketertarikan generasi milenial pada VIK melalui empat aspek yaitu modality, accessabillity, interactivity, navigability. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan wawancara mendalam, studi pustaka, dan juga penelusuran data online. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah perubahan bentuk penulisan berita mendalam jenis longform disukai oleh generasi melenial, penyajian berita longform journalism VIK dinilai informatif serta menarik dengan unsur multimedia oleh milenial, dan generasi milenial terbukti dalam kesehariannya selalu menggunakan gadget, begitu juga dalam hal mencari informasi.

This chapter presents the implications of the research discussed in this book and outlines future research trends in the area of consumer adoption and usage of broadband. The findings of the studies detailed in this book generate a number of implications that may be relevant to policy makers, Internet service providers (ISPs), and other relevant stakeholders for increasing consumers’ adoption of broadband. The chapter begins by a discussion concerning the implications of this research for the government, followed by the implications for the Internet/broadband service providers and, ultimately, the implications for content providers and emerging electronic services. Finally, a discussion on the future trends in the area of broadband adoption and diffusion is provided.

(2006), CD piracy cost the industry &pound;165m in lost revenue in 2005 - nearly 10% of total sales.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">&nbsp; </span>The survey found that 37 million pirated CDs were sold in Britain in 2005.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">&nbsp; </span>The piracy of music in Britain has pinned the British Music Industry (BMI) and the music artists against the internet service providers, the government and the consumers.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">&nbsp; </span>The BMI is blaming the Internet Service Provider (ISP) firms for not policing illegal downloads of music and asked them to disconnect people who ignore requests to stop sharing music.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">&nbsp; </span>The ISP firms do not see their role as policing the piracy problem and do not agree with BMI.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">&nbsp; </span>The BMI is pressuring the government to legislate copyright offenses related to music downloads in Britain.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">&nbsp; </span>Also, the BMI wants the consumers engaged in copyright offense of music piracy to be prosecuted for criminal offense in addition to civil offenses.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">&nbsp; </span>The consumers disagree with the BMI.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">&nbsp; </span>The case study discusses the current actions of the BMI, ISPs and the British Government. </span></span></p>

Based on a survey conducted by the APJII (Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association) team in 2018 with a percentage of more than 64.8% using the internet. The highest percentage is at the age of 7-19 years, which is 91%, this shows that the number of internet users is getting higher every year. This study aims to help treat children who are addicted to the Internet and as advice or a reference for making decisions on how to deal with people who are addicted to the Internet. The method used was to collect data on the distribution of questionnaires or questions that were carried out directly on children aged 7-17 years in the blistering village. The results of external application testing with Likert scale calculations get a percentage result of 78.36% (very useful).

The rapid technological advances with a very strong internet penetration make the Indonesian people connect to communicate instantly. This has indirectly changed the pattern of human life, especially in the activities of shopping, communicating and working and transacting money in order to spend their income. Therefore with the activities carried out the hope of access to financial services that are affordable, fast and easy to personally connect with various activities. Someone in the internet world makes demands that need to be addressed by modern financial service providers.  Internet access has shown a significant increase. This is consistent with the publication of the Association of Internet Service Providers (APJII) in March 2015 stating an increase in internet users, namely from 71.9 million in 2013 to 88.1 million users at the end of 2014, or about 34.9% of the total population currently. This digital payment research shows that there is an increase in the quality of banking services in Indonesia. This is because the banking management has implemented it to reach all levels of Indonesian society, especially for millennials living in the FOR (frontier, outermost, and remote) areas.
