Historically, classroom observations have been conducted in educational establishments for different purposes such as evaluation of teachers, promotion, curriculum design, or professional development. In this study, the researchers aimed to improve the effectiveness of the classroom observation process in an English Language Center based in a College of Technology in the Sultanate of Oman. The study adopted a qualitative research methodology and semi-structured interviews as the data collection tool. In the first stage, observers and teachers were interviewed to understand the existing classroom observation process. Based on the initial data, a training program was developed with materials from international good practice projects. Finally, the changes were identified through the second set of interviews with the participants. The major results of this study suggest that the training program contributed positively to the perceived effectiveness of the classroom observation process, reduced anxiety related to this process, and led to more balanced participation from both the observers and the teachers. Moreover, the implementation of the pre-observation conferences started taking place and post-observation meetings included more constructive feedback. This study adds to the literature on the importance of classroom observation training with a practical training program. This practical approach can be adopted in similar contexts with some adaptation to meet the specific needs of educational institutions. The researchers suggest a qualitative research approach to accompany any such future training to measure the effects of the training program.

Colorectal cancer is a significant health burden. Several screening options exist that can detect colorectal cancer at an early stage, leading to a more favourable prognosis. However, despite years of knowledge on best practice, screening rates are still very low in Canada, particularly in Ontario. The present paper reports on efforts to increase the flexible sigmoidoscopy screening capacity in Ontario by training nurses to perform this traditionally physician-performed procedure. Drawing on American, British and local experience, a professional regulatory framework was established, and training curriculum and assessment criteria were developed. Training was initiated at Princess Margaret Hospital and Sunnybrook and Women’s College Health Sciences Centre in Toronto, Ontario. (During the study, Sunnybrook and Women’s College Health Sciences Centre was deamalgamated into two separate hospitals: Women’s College Hospital and Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.) Six registered nurses participated in didactic, simulator and practical training. These nurses performed a total of 77 procedures in patients, 23 of whom had polyps detected and biopsied. Eight patients were advised to undergo colonoscopy because they had one or more neoplastic polyps. To date, six of these eight patients have undergone colonoscopy, one patient has moved out of the province and another patient is awaiting the procedure. Classifying the six patients according to the most advanced polyp histology, one patient had a negative colonoscopy (no polyps found), one patient’s polyps were hyperplastic, one had a tubular adenoma, two had advanced neoplasia (tubulovillous adenomas) and one had adenocarcinoma. All these lesions were excised completely at colonoscopy. Overall, many difficulties were anticipated and addressed in the development of the training program; ultimately, the project was affected most directly by challenges in encouraging family physicians to refer patients to the program. As health human resource strategies continue to evolve, it is believed that lessons learned from experience make an important contribution to the knowledge of how nontraditional health services can be organized and delivered.

Theoretical and practical training program for complex cases in implantology, dento-alveolar surgery, OMF and complex oral rehabilitation. With Romania’s accession to the European Union, the opportunity arose to finance through non-reimbursable funds theoretical and practical training programs for teachers of Romanian dental faculties. Faculty of Dentistry, U.M.F. „Grigore T. Popa” Iași won, through POSDRU programs, a series of projects for obtaining European funds that allowed the initiation of training courses in the field of oral rehabilitation (prosthetics, implantology, dental-alveolar surgery, OMF surgery, oral rehabilitation complex). The courses included training and advanced training programs in the latest information and innovative technologies in the areas listed. Also, through these projects, the Faculty of Dentistry was equipped with a series of updated equipment and technologies.

At the present stage, the problem of training for related industries in the system of production, operation of products and provision of services is especially relevant. To a large extent, this is typical of medicine and related industries that are engaged in the production and operation of biotechnological devices and systems, electronic medical devices and the provision of rehabilitation services in health and social protection systems. Training of specialists in the field of prosthetics and orthoses for the manufacture of means for the rehabilitation of patients with musculoskeletal disorders. The aim of the work is to highlight the experience of the main stages of training of modern specialists for the prosthetic industry according to international standards. To do this, it is necessary to consider the main approaches to the formation of curricula, the organization of practical training and the scientific component of the training program for prosthetics and orthoses. From 2001 to 2012 according with cooperation program between KNURE and the Ukrainian Research Institute of Prosthetics 5 groups of bachelors and specialists with a total of 72 graduates underwent training under this program, 4 groups with a total of 65 graduates underwent retraining. In order to implement the project "Creation of prosthetic and orthopedic education in Ukraine", based on an international agreement between the Ukrainian Research Institute of Prosthetics, Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics and the School of Rehabilitation Sciences (NS) began in January 2018 a training program for teachers-trainers for prosthetics and orthoses according to the educational program "Orthopedic Technologies and Engineering", developed in accordance with the international standard ISPO category II. The main stages of cooperation, practical and scientific parts for master's training in the specialty "Orthopedic Technologies and Engineering" in the specialty 163 – "Biomedical Engineering" are considered. In accordance with the international standard ISPO, a program for training specialists in prosthetics and orthoses according to the scientific plan "Orthopedic Technologies and Engineering" has been created and started to operate. The perspective of the work is the development of modern educational content for the training of highly qualified specialists of different levels of education in "Orthopedic Technologies and Engineering" in accordance with modern world standards.

With the changes of domestic environmental policy, the curriculum provision of environmental engineering should be continuous improved. This paper analyzes the current teaching situation of environmental engineering and brings up rationalization proposals. According to the found problems of theory course, experimental course and practical training, it is very necessary to adjust the training program and curriculum system of environmental engineering. The specific measures are adding some new courses to teaching system, and changing the assessment methods. There are different characteristics among theory course, experimental course and different courses, so the teaching methods and assessment methods are different, too.
