Public relations (PR) practitioners mainly assumes technical and managerial roles in organizations. However, this study reveals that in order to implement the Reduce, Reuse and Recycle (3R) activities, PR practitioners must possess close rapport with the teachers who will ultimately educate the target audiences. Occasionally, these dynamic relationships can derail PR practitioners from carrying out their actual role in promoting public relations. In-depth interviews were conducted at several designated schools to gain insights on how the relationships between PR practitioners and teachers can gauge the effectiveness such a campaign, besides identifying the major challenges in delivering relevant campaign messages. Results show that the relationship is an important element towards ensuring the PR practitioners’ success in developing the awareness campaign. These findings have implications in both the theory and practice of public relations, especially when considering the technician versus strategic manager’s role of public relations and the advancement of the field to support PR professionalism.

Significant research explores effectiveness of entrepreneurial curriculum, teaching innovations and programs, but less often studied is the role of entrepreneurship educators. The way that the educator sees his or her role relative to the students is of critical importance because this directly influences pedagogy choices, expectations for students and learning outcomes, as well as job satisfaction. While recent studies propose typologies characterizing pedagogical approaches of educators, few of these are based on the data from entrepreneurship educators. Framed within role identity theory, we conducted 13 in–depth interviews to examine how entrepreneurship educators perceive their role. Using the qualitative data analysis tool (NVivo), we analyzed how the relationship between their perceptions of their role and core value orientation is connected to teaching approaches. Results show that these educators view their roles as teacher-focused, network-focused, or student-focused and that these perspectives are associated with different perceptions of students’ role and learning objectives. Further, we find different levels of emphasis on roles and that personal core values are differentially linked to these roles. Implications and future research directions are discussed.

AbstractThe author critiques inductive approaches to pastoral theology that rely on the empirical methodology of the social and human sciences, and presents an alternative Christocentric praxis model of pastoral ministry. The result is an attempt to integrate pastoral theory and practice that shifts the perspective away from functionally-determined theologies of ministry to a relationally oriented and hermeneutically coherent model of orthopraxis in which theory and practice interact in a way that is intended to both deepen faith and transform lives. Some of the key themes that inform the discussion are the importance of theological method, the role of the community as the context for care, the relationship between practical ministry and systematic theology, and the notion of praxis in articulating the nature and scope of practical theology today.

PurposeThe purpose of this study is to demonstrate the importance and influence of paternity leave on individual level organizational outcomes. Drawing on signaling theory, the study examines the relationship between paid paternity leave entitlement (PPLE) and organizational attractiveness (OA) through a mediating path of anticipated organizational support (AOS). Furthermore, the study proposes that this mediated relationship would be conditional on traditional masculinity ideology (TMI) such that the relationship would be stronger for individuals who score low on TMI.Design/methodology/approachThe study analyzed a moderated mediation model using the data from a survey experiment. Data were collected from 264 professionals enrolled in an executive education course and will soon be looking for employment.FindingsThe findings supported the mediating role of AOS between PPLE and OA. As predicted, the positive impact of PPLE on AOS and OA is stronger for individuals scoring low on TMI.Originality/valueThis study takes a multidisciplinary approach to understand the underlying mechanisms that impact decisions related to employers. It is one of the few studies that study paternity leave in the Indian context and makes important contributions to theory and practice.

This article explores the role of social media promotions in the marketing of luxury, from the perspectives of both representatives of global brands and the local influencers contracted to promote them online. It provides insights into role of social media in marketing luxury in ‘new’ markets (African cities) and the complexities attendant to the relationship between brand representatives and influencers. It reports on in-depth interviews with brand representatives and social media influencers working in the luxury sector in large anglophone African cities. Empirical findings show the role of social media in how luxury is promoted by those working in the industry. Three key complexities to do with value, trust and authenticity were evident in how global brand representatives and local influencers discussed social media. In terms of value, influencers emphasize strategies for monetizing visibility, while brand managers emphasize the need to get their money’s worth. Regarding trust, influencers express caution about brands trying to exploit them, while brands express scepticism about the extent of influencer’s abilities. On the topic of authenticity, influencers emphasize how the integrity of their personal brands is paramount, while brand representatives are mostly concerned with how genuine the social media posts seem. The article provides original empirical details about the relationships between brand managers and social media influencers, as well as to the nuances of social media luxury marketing in African cities. It contributes to critical theories of branding practice in media economies of the global south.

This study aims to elaborate the role of job satisfaction in committing employees with organization. This study tested the effect of both components of job satisfaction (intrinsic and extrinsic) of on organizational commitment in banking sector of Pakistan. Data was gathered from employees working in banks of Pakistan. The study has uses descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) to identify sample characteristics and inferential statistics (multiple linear regression) to find out the relationship between variables. Results showed the significant and positive effect of both components of job satisfaction on organizational commitment. This paper departs from the issue of the hidden curriculum that occurred during the last 10 years. Hidden curriculum is the practice of school education that contributes to education. Previous studies discuss the role of the state, the role of the school and the teacher's role in the practice of hidden curriculum separately.While in this paper, the researchers wanted to demonstrate the practice of hidden curriculum in a comprehensive manner by using thought Henry Giroux. This research is a case study with a qualitative approach. This research was conducted in 2019 by conducting in-depth interviews, observation and documents. The findings in this study (1) there is a contestation of values ​​due to differences in ideology trustees and teachers that are implemented in the practice of hidden curriculum, (2) The practice of hidden curriculum is done by the board of trustees behind the development of a formal curriculum, and carried out by the teacher to maintain the old identity through daily practices, (3) impacted on the delay on student achievement, because it is generally the practice of hidden curriculum support the practice of the formal curriculum, but the opposite what happened.. advice in this study is need to agree and trust between the board of trustees and school teachers in order to get maximum achievement.

Student respect for teachers is one of the important aspects of the student-teacherrelationship, which is considered an important component of the school climate.Given the significant role of the school climate in predicting students’ violenceagainst teachers, the aim of this study was to examine the relationship betweenperceptions of students’ respect for teachers and students’ violence against teachers.The research was conducted with two survey questionnaires intended for samplesof students and teachers, and 451 students and 102 high school teachers in the Cityof Zagreb participated in the research. The perception of respect for teachers anddifferent forms of violence was examined by assessing participants’ agreement ona six-point Likert-type scale (1 – strongly agree, 6 – strongly disagree). The resultsindicate that students and teachers, on average, feel that students respect teachers toa greater extent, and that they perceive different forms of violence against teachersto a lesser extent. The correlation analysis found a statistically significant negativeassociation between respect for teachers and various forms of student violenceagainst teachers. It can be concluded that respect for teachers plays an importantrole in explaining the occurrence of students’ violence against teachers.Keywords: respect; school climate; students; teachers; violence against teachers.-Poštovanje učenika prema nastavnicima jedan je od bitnih aspekata odnosa izmeđuučenika i nastavnika koji se smatra važnom komponentom školske klime. S obziromna značajnu ulogu školske klime u predviđanju nasilja učenika nad nastavnicima,cilj ovoga istraživanja bio je ispitati povezanost percepcije poštovanja učenika premanastavnicima i nasilja učenika nad nastavnicima. Istraživanje je provedenodvama anketnim upitnicima namijenjenima uzorcima učenika i nastavnika, au istraživanju je sudjelovao 451 učenik te 102 nastavnika srednjih škola u GraduZagrebu. Percepcija poštivanja nastavnika i različitih oblika nasilja ispitana jeprocjenom slaganja sudionika na skali Likertova tipa od šest stupnjeva (1-izrazitose slažem, 6-izrazito se ne slažem). Rezultati ukazuju na to da učenici i nastavniciu prosjeku više smatraju da učenici poštuju nastavnike te da u manjoj mjeripercipiraju različite oblike nasilja nad nastavnicima. Korelacijskom analizomutvrđena je statistički značajna negativna povezanost između poštovanjanastavnika i različitih oblika nasilja učenika nad nastavnicima. Može se zaključitida poštovanje nastavnika ima važnu ulogu u objašnjenju pojave nasilja učenika nadnastavnicima.Ključne riječi: nasilje nad nastavnicima; nastavnici; poštovanje; školska klima;učenici.

                                                                        Abstrak Budaya memainkan peran yang sangat penting dalam politik karena menjadi cerminan masyarakat dalam menentukan sikap dan pilihan politik atau membentuk karakteristik masyarakat dalam berpolitik. Contoh dari hubungan antara budaya dan politik bisa tergambarkan pada isu kekerabatan  pada pilkada Manggarai Barat 2020 yang dibahas dalam penelitian ini. Fenomena kekerabatan yang dimaksud adalah adanya kecenderungan dari masyarakat Manggarai Barat pada umumnya untuk memilih pemimpin yang seasal atau karena faktor kekerabatan dan kekeluargaan atau dikenal sebagai budaya lonto leok yang masih kuat mempengaruhi kehidupan masyarakat termasuk politik. Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma interpretif dengan metode penelitian Fenomenologi. Adapun pengumpulan data penelitian dilakukan dengan data primer yaitu melakukan wawancara mendalam dan dokumentasi serta data sekunder berupa studi kepustakaan. Wawancara dilakukan kepada para informan yang melakukan lonto leok menjelang Pilkada Mabar Tahun 2020 dan juga pada pilkada-pilkada sebelumnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa makna kekerabatan dalam budaya lonto leok pada proses pilkada di Manggarai Barat adalah kebersamaan dan ketergantungan. Sementara peran budaya lonto leok dalam proses politik adalah pada saat pengambilan keputusan dan menumbuhkan ikatan kekerabatan.   Kata kunci: Budaya, Politik, Kekerabatan, Lonto Leok, fenomenologi, makna kekerabatan                                                                   Abstract   Culture plays a very important role in politics because it reflects the everyday life of society in determining political attitudes and choices or shaping the characteristics of society in politics. One of them many examples about the relationship between culture and politics can be illustrated in the issue of kinship in the 2020 West Manggarai regional election discussed in this study. The kinship phenomenon in question is the tendency of the West Manggarai community in general to choose leaders who are in the same kinship and it is known as the lonto leok culture which still strongly influences people's life, including politics. This study uses an interpretive paradigm with phenomenological research methods. The research data collection was carried out with primary data, namely conducting in-depth interviews and documentation and secondary data in the form of literature study. Interviews were conducted with informants who conducted lonto leok ahead of the 2020 Mabar Pilkada and also in the previous pilkada. The results showed that the meaning of kinship in the lonto leok culture in the election process in West Manggarai was togetherness and dependence. Meanwhile, the role of lonto leok culture in the political process is at the time of making decisions and fostering kinship ties.   Keywords: Culture, Politics, Kinship, Lonto Leok, phenomenology, meaning of kinship

While some researchers argue that strategic planning assists new product development and can be viewed as a framework for innovation, others believe that it restricts creativity and innovation. Despite a literary appreciation that strategic planning is linked to innovation, the nature of this relationship remains ambiguous. In this study, we argue that this relationship is context dependent and contingent on other organizational factors. Data for this study were collected by administering standardized survey questionnaires to entrepreneurs or other senior executives of small and medium businesses in India. Quantitative analysis of data obtained from 162 small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the manufacturing sector reveals a positive relationship between strategic planning and innovation. This study also establishes a significant positive moderating role of commitment to learning on the relationship between strategic planning and innovation. Implications for theory and practice are discussed.

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) face more serious challenges to their survival than do larger firms. To succeed, SMEs must establish and maintain credibility in the marketplace to attract the resources required for survival. Most co-opt legitimacy by mimicking the cues that signal credibility to convince potential stakeholders that something stands behind their promises. This research examines the role of information and communications technology (ICT) in legitimacy-building from the perspective of both SME founders and customers. In-depth, semi-structured interviews were conducted in a variety of industries to determine whether the ICT-related legitimacy schema from the customers’ perspective differs substantially from that of firm founders. Results indicate that customers compare the ICT information provided in SME’s sales pitches to pre-existing ICT expectations about the nature of desirable sales transactions. We describe the relationship between violations of ICT expectations, legitimacy, and purchase decisions. Implications for theory and practice are discussed.
