Internet has changed the way how knowledge is spread. This paper describes the spread of Muslim feminist ideas in Indonesia. It answers the questions of what constitute feminist ideas, how Muslim feminist ideas spread before and after the Digital Era and what challenges and opportunities provided by the internet that hinder and help the spread of these ideas. Muslim feminism has spread in Indonesia since the early 1990s through the translation of the works of non-Indonesian Muslim feminists such as Fatima Mernissi, Riffat Hassan, Asghar Ali Engineer and Amina Wadud. Since 2010, the increasing use of internet among Indonesians has made the spread of Muslim feminist ideas faster. However, it is challenging that conservative groups also mobilized the internet to oppose Muslim feminist ideas. Another challenge is that not all Indonesian Muslims have easy access to the internet and therefore Indonesian Muslim feminists still have to adopt various offline media such as seminars or radio to spread their ideas. [Internet telah mengubah cara penyebaran pengetahuan. Artikel ini akan menjelaskan penyebaran ide-ide feminis Muslim di Indonesia. Artikel ini akan menjawab pertanyaan tentang apa yang dimaksud dengan ide-ide feminis Muslim, bagaimana ide-ide feminis Muslim tersebar sebelum dan sesudah Era Digital dan tantangan serta kesempatan apa yang diberikan oleh internet yang menghalangi dan membantu penyebaran ide-ide ini. Feminis Muslim telah tersebar di Indonesia sejak awal tahun 1990-an melalui penerjemahan karya-karya Muslim feminis yang bukan dari Indonesia seperti Fatima Mernissi, Riffat Hassan, Asghar Ali Engineer dan Amina Wadud. Sejak tahun 2010, meningkatnya penggunaan internet dikalangan orang Indonesia telah membuat penyebaran ide-ide Muslim feminis lebih cepat. Akan tetapi, terdapat tantangan yaitu bahwa kelompok konservatif pun menggunakan internet untuk menentang ide-ide feminis Muslim. Tantangan lainnya adalah bahwa tidak semua Muslim Indonesia memiliki akses yang mudah terhadap internet, oleh karena itu para feminis Muslim Indonesia masih juga harus menggunakan berbagai media di luar jaringan seperti seminar atau radio untuk menyebarkan ide-ide mereka.]

A living discourse needs to be communicated and disseminated. The Internet is a very powerful tool in this respect. Internet has been around for a while now, but how to utilize the Internet as a communication and dissemination tool, is still evolving (Tananbaum, 2007).NAROS is a planned service. The intention of NAROS is to utilize the possibilities of the Internet to improve the awareness and the accessibility of scholarly works on topics related to northern areas, thus hopefully paving the way for expanding the arctic discourses. NAROS will collect information on applicable documents through a standard way of automatically harvesting metadata, and utilize the fast growing trend of making scholarly works available through open archives and open access journals. Through the search service of NAROS, researchers, students, and others will have easy access to scholarly documents within the thematic scope of the northern areas.

McLuhan has enjoyed a resurgence in credibility through his rise with the Wired generation. This article identifies that McLuhan's major value is not so much contained in his aphorisms, but directly related to the way he was mediated and disseminated into the cultural consciousness. Thematically. McLuhan's mediation can be grouped around three valuable elements that are worth celebrating: his endeavour to operate at the level of the universal; his activity as a public intellectual: and his less obvious but currently important investment in the populace and popular culture. These components of the McLuhan persona/mediation have had a particular resonance with the changing divides of production/reception, the will to universalisation and the transformed ‘public sphere ‘ that the Internet has foregrounded.

Abstract This article presents and discusses the communicative behaviour in the continuity texts produced by public service television providers in Denmark in the digital era. Based on a case study of the two main channels, DR and TV 2, the article argues that, after previous trends towards convergence in the way the two providers communicate, the present developments exhibit a divergence. Three major differences are found in the efforts to (1) hold on to and ‘herd’ the viewers within the scope of products and platforms, (2) strengthen the provider–viewer relationship, and (3) stand out with a distinctive set of institutional values. The findings are interpreted as a consequence of the challenges and opportunities facing the providers in terms of funding and in terms of meeting public service obligations, in a situation of tension between a traditional linear model of broadcasting and an emerging non-linear model.

<div><p>The development of information technology (IT), particularly the internet, has benefited people throughout the world in many fields. Considering the advantages offered by the internet, the da’i (Islamic preachers) may utilize such product of IT advancement for disseminating Islamic messages and knowledge (dakwah). This literature review explores the challenges and opportunities of the internet utilization for such religious purpose, by extracting views and research findings from a range of publications, including books and journal articles from several databases. It found that the internet can be utilized as contemporary media for dakwah endeavor as it has many advantages in terms of efficiency, accessibility, scoping, and openness. Some recent global issues including Islamophobia, extremist activities including Islam-related terrorism, and gender equity are seen as challenges to the contemporary Islam. On one hand, these concerns may challenge the use of the internet for dakwah practice, but on the other hand, such issues has opened opportunities for da’i to remedy the situation through valid views described in many forms of dakwah in the internet, educating mad’u for better understanding of Islam. It is further recommended that da’i in Indonesia can consider the internet as media for da’wah. Further research is essential whether to explore the da’i’ interests and acceptance in the use of internet for dakwah as well as the social impacts of such approach.</p></div><strong>Keywords:</strong>

This article examines how Tarekat Qadiriyah wa Naqshabandiyah (TQN) utilizes online media to strengthen its existence. As an integral part of the Islamic revival in Indonesia, Sufi orders (tarekat) are facing remarkable challenges and opportunities in maintaining their existence in the digital era. Nevertheless, previous studies observed Sufi orders as a traditional community that would be exterminated by the pace of modernization and globalization. This article argues that Sufi orders may survive in the internet of things era, contrary to preceding discourses. Based on ethnography research, both online and offline, the authors found out that the vitality of the Sufi order can adapt, develop, and innovate using online media. TQN's use of online media through various platforms proves Sufi order’s adaptive efforts to the internet-based era. TQN’s online media provide informations on Islamic  and Sufism teachings, news, schedule of activities, and fundraising. Even though TQN members’ being active in cyber-Islamic environments, they resist online asceticism thus leverage the vertical-personal obedience, conservative authorities, and sacred rituals. These practices done by TQN members illuminate its identity as an authentic online sufism. Premises shown in this paper may enrich the scope of study within the relationship of Sufi orders and Islamic-cyber environment, especially in Indonesian context.

The research on television market and audience has been so far dominated by a telemetric system operating within a determined panel in the longitudinal manner. Nevertheless, the rise of digital era marked by the growing consumption of audiovisual content and TV in the Internet via VOD systems, subscription services, streaming etc. has changed the way the TV audience should be measured and tackled in order to deliver the significant data to advertisers. The digital services and therefore the online ads consumption are forcing the telemetric companies to re-design their methodology and measurement services. This thus requires not only new measurement methods and sample designs or research planning but also demonstrate new challenges and requirements starting from technical aspects and finishing on social and economic ones. Therefore, it is of great interests to find out how digital TV audience era is changing the way telemetric services are designed and conducted globally and at Polish market. The study attempts to find out how the TV audience measurement service is responding to the changes caused by digitalisation, which challenges and requirements have to be met in order to approach the issue of digitalisation of TV market in terms of the research planning and methodology. Finally, the present research pretend to determine and describe how the global market, and the Polish one in particular, perceives the services offered by Nielsen Audience Measurement. The research includes the series of individual semi-structured online individual interviews with managers and board of directors of the company as well as digital ads ratings department in Poland and headquarters in Switzerland. The results demonstrate the key changes, opportunities and challenges resulted from the digitalisation of TV consumption as perceived by management board, the company’s strategy towards digital convergence and the estimation of the needs of new markets and audiences on the course of the digital transformation.

ABSTRACTSince its beginning, archaeology stands between the natural sciences and the social sciences and humanities. This shared position and the search for a greater understanding of its specific study objects, created the need among archaeology experts to resort to various methods (and technologies) originated from other disciplines. Similarly to other sciences, archaeology is an area permeable to experimentation and application of theoretical and practical exogenous concepts. This lead to the development of several specializations that unite archeology and other areas, such as Zooarchaeology. As happened throughout its history, academics are facing a time of change in the way the acquisition of knowledge is processed. The Digital Era of globalization is related to the shifting of paradigms and the growing need for unceasing adaptation; archeology is also affected by this reality. After a brief introduction to the humanities "digital paradigm" we review some of the main uses of the Internet as a support to research development in archeology, their main obstacles and tendencies.RESUMODesde a sua génese, a Arqueologia encontra-se entre as ciências naturais e as ciências sociais e humanísticas. Esta posição partilhada e a procura de uma maior compreensão dos seus objetos de estudo específicos, criou nos profissionais de Arqueologia uma necessidade de recorrerem a várias metodologias (e tecnologias) originárias de outras disciplinas. De forma similar a outras ciências, a Arqueologia é uma área permeável à experimentação e aplicação de conceitos teórico-práticos exógenos que levou, inclusive, à formação de diversas especialidades que unem a Arqueologia e outras áreas, como a Zooarqueologia. Como aconteceu ao longo da sua história, o meio académico está perante um momento de mudança na forma como se processa a aquisição de conhecimento. O fato de estarmos na Era Digital da globalização faz com que a adaptação do meio académico a esta realidade seja mais continuada, não sendo a Arqueologia alheia a esta transformação. Após uma breve introdução ao novo "paradigma digital" das humanidades, revemos alguns dos principais usos de tecnologias relacionadas com o uso da Internet no apoio à investigação em Arqueologia (e.g., bases de dados enriquecidas), e descrevemos algumas questões relacionadas com o uso de novas ferramentas e técnicas, seus principais obstáculos e tendências.

The internet is one of the technologies that is inevitable in today's digital era. One effect of the internet is also having an impact on the business world, among others, with the development of e-commerce and the decreasing number of offline retailers. therefore the use of internet / e-commerce as an alternative sale must be made by all entrepreneurs including traditional snack entrepreneurs. This research aims to be able to help SMEs to introduce products through sales through the internet and its derivatives. In addition, this service also aims to introduce traditional snack products with better marketing strategies, including by using more eye catching packaging and selling so that they can be easily accepted by millennials. This research has carried out several activities including operational training in marketing training on the importance of attractive brands and packaging, as well as online marketing. This service has helped provide assistance in making stickers, cardboard boxes and jars as a diversification of product packaging for UKM Kembang Goyang “Bu Ninik”, Sragen. This dedication also initiates the use of gift boxes as a respondent to the beautiful appearance of souvenirs. In UKM Kumari Crispi, this research carried out by initiating product innovations with various flavors that are of interest to millennialsand providing shelter assistance for Kumari Crispy souvenir shops to support online businesses that will be run. All of training and accompaniment hope can improve the business performance of the target SMEs by increasing the demand for their products.

The paper focuses on the phenomenon of social networks and their role in the process of knowledge diffusion. Social networks define the structure of a population of individuals. Diverse and dynamic environments lead to evolution of social networks as informing media. The Internet revolution affected especially the way people communicate and it naturally produced a new infrastructure for maintaining social networks. Different topologies of social networks are considered as different paths of knowledge diffusion. The paper addresses the challenges and opportunities this new infrastructure provides. It also argues for needs of “social network literacy” for successful and fruitful use of technology in solving the knowledge acquiring problem.

One of the most important changes in our era is the ones promoted by the digital technology, which has meant a challenge in the promotion of human rights. Not only do we talk about the vulnerability to privacy, but also the possible biases of algorithms and other risks that represent potential violations to human rights. International organizations, such as the United Nations, have taken this issue in their hands, although the lack of development of norms regarding digital technology and human rights. The main objective of this paper is to analyze the way the non-conventional and conventional mechanisms of the United Nations Human Rights System have treated this issue. Through a document review, some actions and interpretations made by these will be analyzed, in order to determine some opportunities and challenges in the way the United Nations has approached to this issue.
