Nursing records and their implications for the quality of careAbstract: To evaluate nurses' records in the electronic and conventional patient charts, with a view to improving the quality of care. Descriptive study, case study type. Semi-structured interviews were carried out with 8 nurses from the coronary artery disease ward and the analysis of the records in the two types of patient records. In the 25 revised records, the number of 51 records was verified, being 37 of the electronic records and 14 of the conventional medical records, average of 31 days of hospitalization. There was a lack of achievement of the insufficient number of nursing professionals in the sector compared to the complexity of the patients attended. The number of nursing staff and their workload stands out as an obstacle. Consequently, there is a need for quantitative and qualitative adjustments in the work process related to the execution of this and other tasks so that they can be properly conducted.Descriptors: Nursing Care, Eletronic Health Records, Workload. Registros de enfermería y sus implicaciones para la calidad de la atenciónResumen: Evaluar el registro de los enfermeros en los prontuarios del paciente electrónico y convencional, con objetivo la mejora de la calidad del cuidado. This paper is a case study of the data quality program implemented for Galaxy, a large health care data warehouse owned by UnitedHealth Group and operated by Ingenix. The paper presents an overview of the program’s goals and components. It focuses on the program’s metrics and includes examples of the practical application of statistical process control (SPC) for measuring and reporting on data quality. These measurements pertain directly to the quality of the data and have implications for the wider question of information quality. The paper provides examples of specific measures, the benefits gained in applying them in a data warehouse setting, and lessons learned in the process of implementing and evolving the program.

PPP projects have brought a big change in Indian Infrastructure Industry. There was not only a dramatic turnaround in the time taken for completion of projects but also a big change in quality of the projects. This change was because of involvement of a private player in the project. Though projects in the range of 500 crores, 1000 crores or even more than that was earlier handled by government departments but they always lacked with timely delivery and quality of projects. This was because of lack of planning and even because of lack of modern day tracking of projects. Now this gap was merged with the entry of a private player. There are glaring examples that this model has been a big success, be it RGIA of Hyderabad or modernization of Delhi and Mumbai airports, each of these projects has been a big success. It’s not only airport projects that has become successful even there are a lot of projects in road sector, port sector which have been completed in this model. The major issue with big infrastructure projects has been financing of these projects. Since in a PPP model private player also takes up the responsibility of financing the project with adequate support from government overall funding of the project becomes easier. But the problem does not seem to end over here because the private player which takes the responsibility of financing the project during initial stage also bears the risk of revenue generation which might be a big concern during operational phase. If the actual revenue falls short of projected revenue than the ROI will have a severe impact. In order to counteract these problems associated with various PPP models several risk mitigation strategies are adopted to safeguard both the parties in a better way. Though India has taken a huge step forward by awarding several projects in this PPP model still there is a long way to go in terms understanding the pros and cons of PPP model and how well it can be adopted in Indian scenario.

Abstract The lack of data for many indicators and the existence of significant gaps in the availability and comparability of data is a problem of global interest, felt by all authorities and agencies specialized in data collection, analysis and use. Their objective is to provide data and indicators of good quality, which will help to correctly inform the political decision-makers and to solve the inequalities in the field of health. Thus, this paper aims to provide clear and coherent solutions to a number of problems identified in data management in general, and in data in the medical sector in particular. Also, the added value of this paper consists in a case study, which presents an x-ray of the current situation of data quality through the existing metadata for each of the analyzed sources. The research methodology used in the paper includes both a thorough analysis of the literature that identifies the main data problems and provides related solutions, as well as a comparative analysis on the quality of health data, using metadata from three sources and distinct levels of aggregation: National (Romania), European and Global.
