The problem of nature protection for the Vinnytsia region, most of the territory of which is experiencing almost uncontrolled intensive economic activity, is very relevant. Natural conditions and resources of Vinnytsia region are diverse and unique, the issue of their rational use is still insufficiently studied. Preservation of modern nature, increase of its riches, is impossible without research of available resources in the territory. Diagnosing minerals, the presence of rare plants, all available resources will help us to better understand the current situation and predict the future state of nature in the region, the possibility of its reconstruction not only by preserving but also creating new environmental facilities. Modern development of human activity is often harmful to the environment due to the growth of urban planning, industrial production, traffic. Therefore, there is pollution of water, air, soil, which negatively affects the health of the population, poses a threat to the environment, exacerbates environmental problems. Environmental pollution by industrial waste has a negative impact on the quality of natural resources, reducing their productivity or making them unusable, which reduces the economic potential of the region and the enterprise. The influence of the ecological factor on the production potential is manifested in the action of environmental pollution on the economic resources of the enterprise, reducing the efficiency of their reproduction and use. Such an impact is observed mainly at the stage of use and during the reproduction and development of production potential. The economic resources of the enterprise are exposed to the polluted environment in the form of industrial waste. As a result, the number of functioning resources decreases, their qualitative characteristics change. Reducing the number of resources and their quality indicators leads to a shortage of resources over time and to a change (decrease) in overall productivity. Thus, the real fund of time of equipment use decreases, labor productivity, equipment capacity, return of material and raw materials decreases (Lukyanikhin 2018).

The ecological state of Kyiv and Kyiv region is considered in the article. This helped to strengthen the innovation direction in improving the environmental situation. At the present stage of development it becomes necessary to expand environmental priorities in the areas of innovation policy: investing in innovation in environmental rehabilitation and the revival of natural potential; development of innovative ecological entrepreneurship, creation of eco-socio-technological parks; continuous improvement of environmental management systems; formation of ecological and innovative potential of regions and corresponding innovation infrastructures. The article identifies the main objects that have a significant negative impact on citizens living in Kyiv and Kyiv region. It is determined that road transport harms humanity by 85% more than other objects of study. The ratings of Ukraine on the index of environmental efficiency and the main indicators of the impact of air pollution on the health of citizens of Ukraine and the city of Kyiv have been studied. As shown, Kyiv ranked fourth in Europe in the number of deaths due to poor ecology. On the basis of the researched material innovative measures for improvement of nature protection activity of the country were offered. Studies of the impact of air emissions became the basis for proposals to change the technical and economic re-equipment of motor transport enterprises. An innovative proposal to reduce material costs in trucking companies, namely fuel costs, through the introduction of combined fuel consumption systems (methane / diesel), which will reduce fuel costs by up to 40-45%, as compressed methane (CNG) by almost 60 % cheaper than diesel and reduction of negative emissions into the environment. The application of the proposed environmental actions is proved. The above proposal is the most up-to-date, as the analysis of the market of enterprises in the field of "Transportation of goods by road" showed that this innovative environmental action has great potential for development, both economically and environmentally.

Abstract At present, there is a huge amount of industrial waste accumulated in Russia, polluting the environment and covering large areas. The greatest impact on the environment comes from open-pit or quarry mining. Mining activities result in huge quantities of rock being brought to the surface and hence produce significant amounts of waste is generated, which has a negative impact on the natural environment. This is also typical for the Republic of Buryatia, where one of the main environmental problems is the formation of waste from both operating and shutdown mining enterprises. In this article we have analysed consequences of mining on natural environment using examples of operating and shut-down mining enterprises in Buryatia. We also gave typical examples of mining enterprises that have the strongest impact on the ecological condition of the territory.

This article analyzes the environmental aspects of sustainable regional and macroeconomic development, as well as the impact of environmental factors and national environmental projects. The essence of the concept of sustainable development of economic entities in a broad sense is to ensure stable growth of indicators in the environmental, social and economic spheres in the long term. Based on the analysis of the list of indicators of sustainable development, the increasing role of the environmental component is shown. We have identified particularly acute environmental problems that hinder effective sustainable development both at the micro-level (of the organization) and at the macro-level in the whole country and the global community. Based on the calculation of the nature protection, socio-ecological and industrial-ecological indices, the consolidated environmental rating and the place of the Kirov region is determined in it. The analysis of the results of research and the opinions of the World Economic Forum experts on the problems of global threats showed the timeliness and relevance of the national project “Ecology” being implemented in Russia, as well as measures of environmental support and planned environmental projects in the Kirov region. The implementation of the planned measures will activate the catalysts of sustainable development and reduce the risks of negative impact on the environment.

China’s “industrial restructuring” has expanded the proportion of the tertiary industry in the economy and promoted the development of local tourism. The ongoing “industrial structure upgrading” is intended to make the industry bigger and stronger, which will promote the growth of local tourism. As a tourist resort, nature reserves have been attracting a large number of tourists and have great development potential and economic value. Under this situation, various management agencies of nature reserves have successively carried out tourism activities and carried out tourism development and construction. However, there is no doubt that both tourism activities and development will have an impact on the ecological system of nature reserves. The existing legal system of nature reserves in China emphasizes the prohibition of behaviors that directly destroy the ecological environment and ignores the impact of human tourism activities. The continuous increase in the number of tourism in our country, brought on nature reserves of rich tourist income at the same time, a large number of facts show that tourism has become a source of environmental pollution, so it is necessary for tourism environmental pollution the main way to do a summary and its particularity, summing up the basic law of tourism affect the environment, thus provide the basis for strengthening the environmental protection from the point of view of tourism management. The emergence and development of tourism culture is inseparable from the influence of the environment, and tourism culture also affects the environment. The negative effects and negative effects of tourism culture development on the environment are becoming more and more evident, which has aroused people’s general concern. In recent years, the negative impact of tourism and cultural activities on the environment has been paid much attention to by many scholars at home and abroad. This paper discusses the impact of tourism activities on nature reserves, and discusses the causes of this problem, so as to analyze the strategies to ensure the harmony and order of nature reserves in tourism activities.

Abstract. Introduction. Researchers and banking practitioners pay considerable attention to the analysis of the impact of inflation on the banking sector. The statement of the scientists as to the nature of inflation, corresponding to the modern development of the economic processes, is an approach to the origin of inflation based on the imbalance in money supply and demand. Purpose. During 2014-2017, the political and economic crises in Ukraine led to imbalances in the main macroeconomic proportions, which negatively affected the development of the banking system and, as a result, caused rising of the inflation rate, cash outflow, increasing dollarization and declining purchasing power. Inflation processes had a negative impact on the banks’ performance, namely, the rise in inflation reduced lending and interest income and increased interest expenses, what, therefore, reduced banks’ net interest income. Results. While assessing the impact of inflation on the banks’ performance, it was determined that 2019 was a year of the banks’ performance record. According to the statistics, when the inflation rate fell to record low of 4.05%, BSU’s profit in 2019 reached a historic high: solvent banks received UAH 58.36 billion of net profit, which is 2.7 times higher than the previous year historical record. Thus, the implementation of the NBU’s stimulating monetary policy contributes to the achievement of the projected social and economic goals of the society and is an essential factor in ensuring the stability of the banking system, creating the appropriate basis: price stability and low inflation in the long run. Conclusions. According to the results of the analysis, it is possible to state that in 2020 and in the coming years, due to the qualitative monetary policy of the NBU and a decrease in inflation, there is a reason to expect an increase in net profit of the banking system in Ukraine. This positive trend will renew the banking sector in Ukraine, which will lead to its profitability and efficiency. Keywords: inflation, inflation component, inflation targeting, monetary policy, banks’ performance, lending.

The rapid economic development of China and the industrial shift from its eastern to western provinces have resulted in significant negative impacts on the environment. Recently, tourism has emerged as an alternative for economic and environmental development, but it is a double-edged sword. Without the required measures to protect environment, the opportunity cost of tourism is environmental degradation. The western part of China holds a significant advantage for the development of travel and tourism (T&T), due to One Belt One Road (OBOR), unique ancient culture and spectacular variety of natural scenic spots. This region is among the less explored and less developed, but important, parts of China. Taking this point into consideration, this paper aims to examine the impact of tourism on the environmental pollution of five provinces located in the heart of OBOR over the period of 1991–2016. To explore this link, we used the fully modified ordinary least squares (FMOLS) approach and Gregory-Hansen test for robustness check. We applied the Zivot-Andrews unit root test to deal with structural breaks in data. Our results confirm a negative impact of tourism on environment for Ningxia, Qinghai, Gansu, and Shanxi. However, tourism improves the environmental quality of Xinjiang. The negative impact of energy consumption and GDP growth is significant than tourism. Our findings suggest that the relationship varies for different provinces in the same region depending on the specific provincial features and government policies. Furthermore, tourism development has great potential to improve the economic and environmental sustainability in these provinces.

Plastic waste is a serious problem for the survival of all creatures on Earth. Recycling is one solution to reduce the negative impact of environmental pollution caused by plastic waste. A lot of plastic waste that pollutes the Earth comes from plastic bottle waste (PET). There had been many studies that discussed the use of plastic bottle waste (PET); however, this research used the plastic bottle waste (PET) as a geocell for subgrade reinforcement. To this date, the use of plastic bottle waste as geocell is still rare. The main purpose of this study was to determine the effect of adding geocell of plastic bottle waste on the subgrade using a capping layer that had a low bearing capacity. This research was expected to reduce the impact of environmental pollution due to plastic bottle waste, and be an alternative solution for additional reinforcement in the capping layer. Therefore, it could increase the ultimate bearing capacity and reduce the thickness of the cover layer on subgrades that had a CBR value below 5%. The results of the analysis using the Plaxis program showed that the geocell from plastic bottle waste could be used to save the use of capping layer materials by up to 65%.

Abstract A study of the dispersed composition of dust for various types of repair in warehouses has been carried out. The data on the concentration of dust emissions inside the premises were obtained. The dependence of the dust concentration on the distance from the place of work, the size of the emitted particles, the area of the room and the time spent on the work is built. An assessment is given of the impact of reconstruction work in warehouses on environmental pollution by dust emissions. The concentration and ratio of PM2.5 to PM10 particles were calculated to determine dustiness and negative impact on the environment.

This paper is the first of its kind to measure the income level of a country’s tourist arrival and empirically examine its impact on economic growth and environmental pollution in a sample of eight Mediterranean countries. The paper undertakes annual data from 1995 to 2014 and employs quantile regression models, autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) estimations, and a heterogeneity causality test. The empirical results show that the income level of a country’s tourist arrival, across all quantiles, plays an important role in promoting economic development. However, the role of the income level of a country’s tourist arrival on environmental pollution varies with the changes in quantiles. More specifically, income level of a country’s tourist arrival has a positive impact on environmental pollution for the lower quantiles, while it has a negative impact for higher quantiles. The findings from panel ARDL models confirm that the income level of a country’s tourist arrival has positive and negative impacts on economic growth and emissions, respectively. Given these results, these findings provide information to take the necessary actions to ensure sustainable tourism development, i.e., the expansion of the tourism industry without harming the environment in the Mediterranean countries.

The motives, mechanisms, and the impact of the East India Company’s rule over India (from the mid-eighteenth to mid-nineteenth century) are analyzed. The key motive behind East India Company operations in India was the extraction of economic resources. The central mechanism of establishing rule was coercion used to defeat resistance by the traditional Indian elite. As for the impact, the evidence is overwhelming that the activities of the East India Company in India benefited Britain at India’s expense. The British gained from the East India Company via the transfer of Indian resources for private and public uses. The East India Company also helped establish a colonial pattern of trade during the first half of the nineteenth century. The negative impact on India was transmitted especially via the misuse of Indian savings—savings that may have been invested more productively within India—and via the destruction of indigenous manufacturing.
