Phenomenology as a philosophy and a method of inquiry is not limited to an approach to knowing, it is rather an intellectual engagement in interpretations and meaning making that is used to understand the lived world of human beings at a conscious level. Historically, Husserl’ (1913/1962) perspective of phenomenology is a science of understanding human beings at a deeper level by gazing at the phenomenon. However, Heideggerian view of interpretive-hermeneutic phenomenology gives wider meaning to the lived experiences under study. Using this approach, a researcher uses bracketing as a taken for granted assumption in describing the natural way of appearance of phenomena to gain insights into lived experiences and interpret for meaning making. The data collection and analysis takes place side by side to illumine the specific experience to identify the phenomena that is perceived by the actors in a particular situation. The outcomes of a phenomenological study broadens the mind, improves the ways of thinking to see a phenomenon, and it enables to see ahead and define researchers’ posture through intentional study of lived experiences. However, the subjectivity and personal knowledge in perceiving and interpreting it from the research participant’s point of view has been central in phenomenological studies. To achieve such an objective, phenomenology could be used extensively in social sciences.

In this paper, we make a phenomenological study of the mass–radii relationship of hybrid stars from the point of view of the smooth crossover phase transition. We find a way to construct stiff hybrid equations of state (EOSs) with soft EOSs of both the quark matter and the hadronic matter. For the hadron phase, we adopt the EOS softened by introducing hyperons that are considered to exist in the core of a neutron star. For the quark phase, we introduce a quark EOS based on the Dyson–Schwinger equation (DSE) that is calculated in our previous work, and it is also a soft EOS. In contrast to the hybrid EOS based on Maxwell condition, we find that the resulting EOS is stiff and the maximum mass of the hybrid stars is still about two times of solar mass. This result indicates the rich possibilities of the crossover model.

This research is motivated by the role of women in the household environment, so this role is considered an obligation that must be done hereditary by women. It can be described that the role of women in life ranging from pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding children, maintaining the survival of children to adulthood is a nature that must be lived by a woman. This study examined the role of Papuan women in the Sentani tribe as a family booster and health resilience for the community from the cultural point of view of the Sentani tribe, Papua. This research uses qualitative research methods of phenomenology in May - October 2021. The data collection was conducted with interviews with 14 informants consisting of tribal chiefs, community leaders, fathers, mothers and young women sentani. The results showed sentani women began their role in the household by preparing all the needs of family members as an early education for young women about their obligations as women. Mothers have an important responsibility to keep young women in a pattern of association and behave with boys. Sentani women have a dual role, in addition to shouldering the responsibility of being a mother who gives birth and prepares all the needs of children and her husband, they also play a role to prepare foodstuffs such as gardening or looking for fish in the lake. This role is always attached and passed down to their daughters.

The objective of this research is to find out challenges faced by English teachers in the remote area based on school-based management point of view. The method used in this research was qualitative method with phenomenological approach. It was conducted at SMP Negeri1 Wawonii Tenggara, SMP Negeri 2 Wawonii Tenggara, and SMP Negeri 2 Wawonii Tenggara. The total subjects of this research consisted of 3 English teachers who were not native resident of the study location. The data were collected by in-depth interview, observation, and documentation study. The data were analyzed by using modification of Stevick-Colaizzi-Keen method in Creswell (1998). The data analysis indicated that challenges faced by English teachers based on two aspects of School-based management were as follows: (1) challenges faced by English teachers in remote area based on teachers’ role as a teacher/an educator, (2) challenges faced by English teachers in remote area based on teachers’ role in organizing school-based management. The result showed that there were some challenges that the teachers faced namely: inadequate school facilities, lack of parents’ motivation to their children, lack of students' competence, and overburdened with more duties and responsibilities. To overcome the teachers’ challenges were not only the teachers’ responsibility but also the components of school itself, including headmaster, administrator staff, society and students’ parents to realize their role in School-Based Management and work together with good coordination to get the purpose of implementing School-Based Management.

Purpose Information seeking for child-rearing is an increasingly popular topic in the medical and social science literature, though a theoretical framework in which to understand this phenomenon is still missing. The paper aims to discuss this issue. Design/methodology/approach The authors present results from a qualitative research in which data were obtained from 21 interviews and the personal experience of one of the authors. Participants were all mothers supportive of attachment parenting, a parenting style inspired by attachment theory which advocates making parenting decisions on a strong basis of information. They were recruited in several Spanish autonomous communities and interviewed between April and July 2015. Findings Results were analyzed using grounded theory and allowed to define five major themes: becoming a mother implies a new perception of oneself in which it is common to feel more in need for information; the need to search for information originates in situations of “conflict” or crisis, or as a consequence of conflicting information; information is judged and weighed on the basis of affect and perceptions; scientific and experiential knowledge are valued as complementary; and finally, information seeking appears as one activity of identity work. Originality/value Placing conflict, instead of uncertainty, at the beginning of the search process allows to emphasize the role of information seeking in mediating relationships and interactions at a societal level. From this point of view, the authors understand that LIS should pay more attention to information seeking as an important factor in social change.
