Online homework is a relatively new instruction and evaluation technique.  While it appears to be an effective tool, empirical studies of its efficacy suggests they have not been done.  This paper analyzes correlations among systematic class participation scores, online homework scores and test results from two sections of Effective People Management and two sections of Advanced Human Resource Management taught at a Middle Eastern University – University of Kurdistan Hewler in fall semester 2017.Collection of data were made in four classes of two modules with the outcomes and implications suggesting students were expected to attempt to work on each homework problem three times and were allowed as many attempts as they wished within time limits set by the instructor.  Homework problems were made available for extra credit immediately after a new chapter was introduced

AbstractResearch on impact in student achievement of online homework systems compared to traditional methods is ambivalent. Methodological issues in the study design, besides of technological diversity, can account for this uncertainty. Hypothesis This study aims to estimate the effect size of homework practice with exercises automatically provided by the ‘e-status’ platform, in students from five Engineering programs. Instead of comparing students using the platform with others not using it, we distributed the subject topics into two blocks, and created nine probability problems for each block. After that, the students were randomly assigned to one block and could solve the related exercises through e-status. Teachers and evaluators were masked to the assignation. Five weeks after the assignment, all students answered a written test with questions regarding all topics. The study outcome was the difference between both blocks’ scores obtained from the test. The two groups comprised 163 and 166 students. Of these, 103 and 107 respectively attended the test, while the remainder were imputed with 0. Those assigned to the first block obtained an average outcome of −1.85, while the average in the second block was −3.29 (95% confidence interval of difference, −2.46 to −0.43). During the period in which they had access to the platform before the test, the average total time spent solving problems was less than three hours. Our findings provide evidence that a small amount of active online work can positively impact on student performance.

This study aims to determine the effect of variable packaging and durability on consumer ethnocentrism in Batam, both partially and simultaneously. The background of this research is due to the rise of types of snack products made in Malaysia circulating in every type of retail in Batam, and very well-selling. This research will be analyzed quantitatively with a research tool using a questionnaire. The results of the questionnaire will be processed with the help of SPSS statistical software. As for what will be tested is the multiple regression test. Regression test results showed that the packaging had no effect on consumer ethnocentrism in Batam. While the durability variable shows a significant influence on consumer ethnocentrism. Simultaneously the F test shows that both packaging and durability affect ethnocentrism. While the determination coefficient test results indicate that the determination test output for the R Square value of 0.817 means that the magnitude of the contribution or contribution of the X1 and X2 variables of 82% to the Y variable and the rest of 18% is the influence of other variables not mentioned in this study.   Keywords: Packeging, Durability, Etnosentrisme, Snack

Part of the responsibility of a reading therapist is to report to the parents the results of specialized programs developed for their children. Whether the report is made in person or sent to the parents or teachers of the children, there can be confusion or misunderstanding when grade-level scores are used. Over a period of time, and after a review of numerous parent conferences and discussions with local school administrators and teachers, the following report was prepared by the Academic Achievement and Learning Group, Los Angeles, California, to better communicate with parents and school personnel who are concerned about students' work in remedial reading.

The untested assumption of linear relationship between stocks and bonds in previous empirical studies may lead to an invalid conclusion if the actual relationship is non-linear. The emphasis of this paper is on the effect of non-linearities on causal relationships between stocks and bonds in the cases of Malaysia and Singapore. Results from linearity tests indicate the existence of non-linearities in the dynamic relationship between stocks and bonds. Non-linear causality test results based on Taylor expansion suggest that non-linear causality flows from stocks to bonds and vice versa. The test further confirms that bonds with different maturity dates have different relationships with stocks.

Writing and reading have long been considered to be the two most important skills that pupils must master perfectly. For this reason, written competence has been the protagonist in education, while oral communication via listening and speaking has traditionally remained in the background. However, most criticisms of this prevalence have not been based on empirical studies but on simple verifications that are old and have not been applied to Spain. Given the lack of data and the importance of oral communication nowadays, the aim of this study is to determine the current weight of oral skills in primary education. For this purpose, 433 teachers answered an online questionnaire to determine the importance of each skill, the work dedicated to each, the activities to develop them, and the students’ perceptions. The results indicated that, although most teachers believe that the way in which oral competencies are taught has changed, these skills should have still greater importance. In fact, they consider that the content included in the school curriculum is insufficient. Teachers claim to devote similar percentages of time to writing and speaking, but not so much to listening. In addition, they consider that students experience greater satisfaction when carrying out activities related to oral skills. In conclusion, although the results are positive and some progress is being made in developing oral communication, there is still room for improvement to achieve full equivalence with the written word.
