AbstractThe current publication of scientific journals is transitioning from a print format format to an electronic format, which has a different management model than before. Publication of scientific journals is an important thing in the existence of universities. In the dissemination of science results of an education, research, and community service generated by college civitas (Students & Lecturers) can be done with the publication of scientific journals. The purpose of this study is to determine the strategy of management publication of scientific journals that publish many articles of students at higher education. The type of this research is qualitative descriptive research. The research data were collected by indepth interview the Director of Graduate, Head of journal publishing unit, and staff of journal publishing unit. This research was conducted at the Journal Publishing Unit of Postgraduate of Brawijaya University. The managers of scientific journal publications should be continue to improve scientific publishing services and the quality of published articles, so that the management of scientific publications can compete with other electronic journals. The development of electronic journals in Indonesia has grown rapidly, within three years of electronic journal publication in Indonesia has increased sharply, from 1500 journals in 2012 to 16280 journals in 2016. This is a challenge for managers of scientific publications in Brawijaya University. The strategy in developing the management of scientific journal publications of students is to hold training activities of scientific journal writing for students to be able to provide the availability of quality articles. Benchmarking activities and management training for journal editing teams to maintain quality management and scientific journal publications. In addition, it is necessary to improve the reputation of scientific journals by paying attention to the Impact Factor; Index Journal, Ranking Journal, h-index, Number of Cites, & Percentage of Rejection Rates in managed journals.

AbstractSince the early 1990s, methods for the acquisition of three-dimensional (3-D) data and computer-assisted techniques for the visualization of such data have grown increasingly popular among biologists, paleontologists, and paleoanthropologists. However, thus far no standardized repository for complex virtual models based on 3-D digital data of specimens has emerged, whereas the need for researchers to provide access to 3-D models of specimens as well as the pressure imposed on authors by scientific journals to make original 3-D morphological data publicly available have increased. MorphoMuseuM (M3) aims to fill this gap. M3 is both a peer-reviewed scientific journal (M3 Journal) and a virtual specimen repository (M3 Repository). All scientific articles and their associated 3-D models deposited in M3 go through a formal review process. Each published model is given a DOI and a unique identifier code, which should be cited by researchers using this model in their scientific publications. In this paper, we describe the place of M3 among other online repositories for 3-D data, and explain how the growing community of biologists working with 3-D data can benefit from using M3.

Purpose. The aim of the work is to indicate the impact of publications from the “Folia Turistica” journal on the development of knowledge on marketing in tourism in Poland. Method. The article analyses citability (as of 20 Oct. 2018) of articles published in the journal, addressing marketing issues. However, the article cannot be treated as a typical bibliometric study, because the most important conclusions were derived by deduction. Findings. From among the very numerous articles published in the “Folia Turistica” issues, those devoted to the problem of marketing in tourism, or at least aspects related to it, are not very numerous. The contribution of this journal to the development of knowledge on marketing in tourism does not result from a large number of publications, but mainly from the publication of several items whose frequency of quoting makes them considered as very important publications (from those published in Poland) in the development of understanding the essence marketing in tourism. Research and conclusions limitations. In the bibliometric research, the Google Scholar database was used, which although indexes the largest number of Polish scientific journals, is still very incomplete. Practical implications. The text is an analysis of scientific publications and contains only a few guidelines for practitioners. Such a suggestion may be an indication of particularly scientifically influential texts on marketing in tourism, which may be of interest to economic practitioners. Originality. So far, this type of analysis has not been conducted in Poland, not only in the case of “Folia Turistica”, but also for other scientific journals related to research in the tourism industry. Type of work. The article is of review nature.

The impact of technologies in all areas is one of the main points that characterize the current society. In the educational context, recently, great efforts are being made to adapt the system to characteristics and needs of the students of the 21st century. Gamification in education consist on the use of structures, characteristics, dynamics and aesthetics of games for educational purposes, to increase students participation and motivation. The escape room is a gamified activity in which one or more teams must leave a place during a limited time solving a challenge whose goal is learning. This study pretends to analyze research trends through a bibliometric study of scientific production deposited in Scopus. 32 articles were obtained for the analysis. The results indicate an increase in scientific publications in last decade, and the main mean of dissemination are journals, specially in Social Sciences field. In addition, data shows the low impact and the absence of medium and large producers. Finally, the weight of Spain highlights and the implementation of escape rooms in the Higher Education stage stands out too.

Research and development are central to national and civilizational achievements. Research and development in any country is measured by the results of research, such as scientific publications. Scientific publications become the main criterion for evaluating teachers, as well as research and teaching staff of higher education institutions and research institutions. Knowledge is the most important resource in universities. Useful knowledge can improve the performance of employees in the organization. The exchange of knowledge or information exchange between employees is important for scientists and practitioners. Acquisition of knowledge, exchange of knowledge and use of knowledge are three types of knowledge management. Higher education in Ukraine seeks to strengthen research as a key component of the development of the nation and its universities. In recent years, higher education in Ukraine has initiated many projects to improve research on the productivity of research and teaching staff in Ukrainian universities. Ukrainian higher education seeks to automate all research activities to increase the effectiveness of research. This article discusses the impact of knowledge use. Joint use to improve the scientific publications of scientists and teachers of Ukrainian universities. In addition, this study identifies factors that lead to an increase in the level of knowledge exchange in Ukrainian universities. The author conducted an online interview with 350 representatives of the scientific and pedagogical staff of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, studied scientific articles and websites of academic institutions to determine important indicators for measuring the productivity of scientific research. The results show that computer- mediated communication and the nature of knowledge are the main factors that positively affect the exchange of knowledge in Ukrainian universities. The author also concluded that scientific publications are a key indicator for measuring research performance. In addition, the exchange of academic knowledge and indirect communication significantly increases the productivity of research in Ukrainian universities.

Background The standard method of sharing information in academia is the scientific journal. Yet health advocacy requires alternative methods to reach key stakeholders to drive change. The purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of social media and public narrative for advocacy in matters of firearm-related injury and death. Study design The movement This Is Our Lane was evaluated through the #ThisIsOurLane and #ThisIsMyLane hashtags. Sources were assessed from November 2018 through March 2019. Analyses specifically examined message volume, time course, global engagement, and content across Twitter, scientific literature, and mass media. Twitter data were analyzed via Symplur Signals. Scientific literature reviews were performed using PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science, and Google Scholar. Mass media was compiled using Access World News/Newsbank, Newspaper Source, and Google. Results A total of 507,813 tweets were shared using #ThisIsOurLane, #ThisIsMyLane, or both (co-occurrence 21–39%). Fifteen scientific items and n = 358 mass media publications were published during the study period; the latter included articles, blogs, television interviews, petitions, press releases, and audio interviews/podcasts. Peak messaging appeared first on Twitter on November 10th, followed by mass media on November 12th and 20th, and scientific publications during December. Conclusions Social media enables clinicians to quickly disseminate information about a complex public health issue like firearms to the mainstream media, scientific community, and general public alike. Humanized data resonates with people and has the ability to transcend the barriers of language, culture, and geography. Showing society the reality of caring for firearm-related injuries through healthcare worker stories via digital media appears to be effective in shaping the public agenda and influencing real-world events.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to analyse the degree of accessibility of a set of electronic journals that are hosted on widely used online scientific journal publishing platforms and whose content quality has already been certified. Two studies were performed, in which the accessibility of the selected platforms was studied in 2011 and 2016. Design/methodology/approach The research was performed on publishing platforms than hosted more than 20 journals about human behaviour and factors that may influence it. The evaluation was carried out following the methodology described by the Web Accessibility Initiative in their Website Accessibility Conformance Evaluation Methodology. Findings The results show that, in spite of an improvement in accessibility, all the analysed electronic consultation platforms contain errors that could hinder their users’ access to their content. The incidence of errors found varies considerably among platforms. As the user interface of each platform analysed is common to all the online scientific electronic journals it hosts, the results obtained are valid for all other journals hosted on a given platform. Research limitations/implications Obtained results were valid in the date and time the websites were analysed. Changes made on the websites since then make that the results of an accessibility analysis would be different. Practical implications Analysed platforms would require taking steps to ensure their accessibility. Social implications Users with disabilities cannot use these platforms appropriately due to the accessibility problems found. The lack of web accessibility also has implications regarding visibility of published articles and common users. Originality/value This work offers a systematic analysis that includes manual accessibility evaluation, which has not been performed in scientific article publishing platforms to the extent presented in this paper. Articles found in the literature perform automatic analyses, which lack the depth of a manual one. Besides, when manual accessibility analysis is performed, usually the home page of a platform or journal alone is considered.

Abstract. Activities cite literature is an integral part of the activities of writing scientific papers. In the writing of a work in scientific journals either in the form of research results or other study results quoting the opinions of other authors contained in the same journal or different journals but still in a clump of the same science often coloring a writing. In citation analysis activities a scientific journal is known to exist several terms such as a speed index that is a measure to find out how quickly a group of documents or articles from a journal is cited in the same year and an impact factor that is a measure for the influence of an article in a journal in a given period. This study aims to examine the index of velocity and impact factors of articles published in the electronic journals (OJS) socio-humanities of Padjadjaran University. The method used in this research is quantitative descriptive method with research type of citation analysis. The period of the journal published human socio-humanities are jurnal period published 2012-2015 with the number of articles published 128 as many scientific articles. Based on the results of this study note that the index of the density and impact factors of the human socio journal of Universitas Padjadjaran is still low. This is apparent with the lack of articles published in the humanitarian socio journal of Padjadjaran University cited or dikutif by other authors in other imitation journals as well as scientific journals of the socio-humanities of UNPAD itself.
