The impact of technologies in all areas is one of the main points that characterize the current society. In the educational context, recently, great efforts are being made to adapt the system to characteristics and needs of the students of the 21st century. Gamification in education consist on the use of structures, characteristics, dynamics and aesthetics of games for educational purposes, to increase students participation and motivation. The escape room is a gamified activity in which one or more teams must leave a place during a limited time solving a challenge whose goal is learning. This study pretends to analyze research trends through a bibliometric study of scientific production deposited in Scopus. 32 articles were obtained for the analysis. The results indicate an increase in scientific publications in last decade, and the main mean of dissemination are journals, specially in Social Sciences field. In addition, data shows the low impact and the absence of medium and large producers. Finally, the weight of Spain highlights and the implementation of escape rooms in the Higher Education stage stands out too.

In these last decades, digital systems and playful dynamics have penetrated the inclusive education field, in some cases to attend the diversity of the classroom as a whole and, in others, to study in a specific way the use of technologies in students with special needs. About this topic, on the following pages we study the trends of the research carried out through a bibliometric analysis of the scientific production in the Scopus database, which includes an amount of 59 articles, published between 1999 and 2019, are included. The results indicate an increase in the last years of the presence of scientific publications in journals in the field of Social Sciences. Furthermore, data show that the number of articles and the impact of these is scarce, that the predominant country in the publications is United States and that in the cooccurrence of the terms the agents involved in the process, technology and inclusive practices stand out as relevant issues, which implies the urgent need for digital teacher training.

AbstractThe current publication of scientific journals is transitioning from a print format format to an electronic format, which has a different management model than before. Publication of scientific journals is an important thing in the existence of universities. In the dissemination of science results of an education, research, and community service generated by college civitas (Students & Lecturers) can be done with the publication of scientific journals. The purpose of this study is to determine the strategy of management publication of scientific journals that publish many articles of students at higher education. The type of this research is qualitative descriptive research. The research data were collected by indepth interview the Director of Graduate, Head of journal publishing unit, and staff of journal publishing unit. This research was conducted at the Journal Publishing Unit of Postgraduate of Brawijaya University. The managers of scientific journal publications should be continue to improve scientific publishing services and the quality of published articles, so that the management of scientific publications can compete with other electronic journals. The development of electronic journals in Indonesia has grown rapidly, within three years of electronic journal publication in Indonesia has increased sharply, from 1500 journals in 2012 to 16280 journals in 2016. This is a challenge for managers of scientific publications in Brawijaya University. The strategy in developing the management of scientific journal publications of students is to hold training activities of scientific journal writing for students to be able to provide the availability of quality articles. Benchmarking activities and management training for journal editing teams to maintain quality management and scientific journal publications. In addition, it is necessary to improve the reputation of scientific journals by paying attention to the Impact Factor; Index Journal, Ranking Journal, h-index, Number of Cites, & Percentage of Rejection Rates in managed journals.

PurposeThis study assesses the effects of junior enterprises (JEs) on the entrepreneurial attitudes and intentions of engineering higher education students, compared to a group of social sciences students.Design/methodology/approachThis research analyses a sample of 132 students enrolled in engineering higher education courses in Portugal and Brazil, while 83 of the respondents being involved in a JE and 49 not. The authors compare this group to another group of 176 social sciences students from several higher education courses, while 93 being enrolled in JE and 83 not.FindingsThe results show that students enrolled in JEs show higher levels of entrepreneurial intention (EI), as well as their antecedents such as attitude towards the behaviour (ATB), perceived behavioural control (PBC) and social norms (SN) , and the impact of this extracurricular activity is higher on engineering students than on social sciences students. Also, country and gender differences were found in some variables.Research limitations/implicationsFurther studies are needed to confirm the results in a broader population and in other countries. Also, the study addressed attitudes and intentions but not actual behaviour due to the time lag problem. There is also the risk of self-reported bias on the answers due to social desirability bias, for example. Finally, because JEs have their own recruitment process, there is a possible “self-selection problem” of students who might have previously developed some of entrepreneurial attitudes and skills assessed by the questionnaire.Practical implicationsThe results have important implications for engineering higher education institutions. Despite many of them provide entrepreneurship training courses, they should also encourage students to join extracurricular activities or even create their own at their institution to complement their skills' development. Also, teachers should be encouraged to integrate these activities into their subjects, avoiding a major barrier to the participation in extracurricular activities which is the students' time constraints. Finally, participation in extracurricular activities can be promoted by institutions in many ways, such as allowing students to obtain academic credits or through supporting financially or logistically the organisations that promote these activities.Social implicationsThis study contributes to the discussion on how to promote the development of entrepreneurial competences in young people that soon will enter the labour market.Originality/valueThis study contributes to the discussions on the value of extracurricular activities, such as the enrolment in JEs, to the development of entrepreneurial attitudes and intention on the training of the next generation of engineers capable of facing future worlds' challenges.

Nowadays, cyberbullying has become a problem of social harassment in numerous educational centres worldwide. New communication technologies have provided the perfect support for the development of this type of harassment in peer relationships, in addition to being linked to broad social and economic circumstances. In this study, the global trends of the socioeconomic implications of cyberbullying in the educational context have been analysed, from 2004 to 2019. Thus, a bibliometric analysis has been applied to 1128 articles, obtaining results of the evolution of scientific activity in this period. The articles are mainly associated with the thematic areas of Social Sciences, Psychology, Medicine and Computer Science. Seven main thematic axes have been detected, highlighting those related to the psychological aspect, adolescence, and the school environment. Likewise, the link of the main authors, institutions, and countries to these lines of research has been detected. The evidence has shown the interest and relevance of this topic at the international level. Future research lines propose different analyses about how certain socioeconomic factors influence this psychological harassment inside and outside the classroom.

AbstractThe article discusses some of the problems involved in using traditional metrics of impact of scientific production when applied to social sciences and, above all, to sociology. Combining scientometric techniques with the sociological approach, we analyzed some of the variables that make it possible to problematize the universal use of these metrics, drawing attention to the specificities of the areas of knowledge and the different national scientific contexts. In a comparative perspective, the article suggests that 1) articles from the same national context tend to have a close citation profile (“citation cultures”); 2) themes related to national issues are not an exclusive pattern of Brazilian sociology.

Purpose. The aim of the work is to indicate the impact of publications from the “Folia Turistica” journal on the development of knowledge on marketing in tourism in Poland. Method. The article analyses citability (as of 20 Oct. 2018) of articles published in the journal, addressing marketing issues. However, the article cannot be treated as a typical bibliometric study, because the most important conclusions were derived by deduction. Findings. From among the very numerous articles published in the “Folia Turistica” issues, those devoted to the problem of marketing in tourism, or at least aspects related to it, are not very numerous. The contribution of this journal to the development of knowledge on marketing in tourism does not result from a large number of publications, but mainly from the publication of several items whose frequency of quoting makes them considered as very important publications (from those published in Poland) in the development of understanding the essence marketing in tourism. Research and conclusions limitations. In the bibliometric research, the Google Scholar database was used, which although indexes the largest number of Polish scientific journals, is still very incomplete. Practical implications. The text is an analysis of scientific publications and contains only a few guidelines for practitioners. Such a suggestion may be an indication of particularly scientifically influential texts on marketing in tourism, which may be of interest to economic practitioners. Originality. So far, this type of analysis has not been conducted in Poland, not only in the case of “Folia Turistica”, but also for other scientific journals related to research in the tourism industry. Type of work. The article is of review nature.

This paper critiques the traditional evaluation model for management faculty which has an over-emphasis on publications. This model leads to irrelevant of intellectual contributions and minimal impact on management practice. We propose a new evaluation model for management scholars that improves the quality of intellectual contributions and the impact on management practice.
