AbstractOver the last few decades, the excess exploitation of our planet and degradation of environment have gone up at an alarming rate. Environmental problems, especially air and water pollution, which takes a huge number of years to recover, have become the major concern affecting the progress of human society. The overwhelming threats have driven global research and innovation in the development of advanced technology and devices toward a cleaner environment. In this context, the generation of functional one-dimensional (1-D) nanomaterials has become an area of intense interest from both academia and industry due to their unique advantages for environmental applications. Electrospinning is recognized as the most powerful technique for producing 1-D composite nanofibers via facile incorporation of active ingredients in the solutions for electrospinning or by some posttreatment process. In this review, we give an overview on the latest research progress in the fabrication and utilization of functional polymer/ceramic/carbon nanofibers generated by electrospinning for air and water purification, as well as their applications as sensors for pollutant monitoring and control. We also present the perspectives and challenges of the current electrospinning technique for environmental applications.

Subsoiling has been acknowledged worldwide to break compacted hardpan, improve soil permeability and water storage capacity, and promote topsoil deepening and root growth. However, there exist certain factors which limit the wide in-field application of subsoiling machines. Of these factors, the main two are poor subsoiling quality and high energy consumption, especially the undesired tillage depth obtained in the field with cover crops. Based on the analysis of global adoption and benefits of subsoiling technology, and application status of subsoiling machines, this article reviewed the research methods, technical characteristics, and developing trends in five key aspects, including subsoiling shovel design, anti-drag technologies, technologies of tillage depth detection and control, and research on soil mechanical interaction. Combined with the research progress and application requirements of subsoiling machines across the globe, current problems and technical difficulties were analyzed and summarized. Aiming to solve these problems, improve subsoiling quality, and reduce energy consumption, this article proposed future directions for the development of subsoiling machines, including optimizing the soil model in computer simulation, strengthening research on the subsoiling mechanism and comprehensive effect, developing new tillage depth monitoring and control systems, and improving wear-resisting properties of subsoiling shovels.

In recent years, due to the hard competitiveness through globalization most manufacturing companies have focused on manufacturing higher value added products with low production costs. So, it is inevitable to apply the advanced technology to carry out it in effective and efficient way. Monitoring and control of machining processes are becoming increasingly important for keeping a consistent quality of machined parts. The paper presents in-process sensing and control techniques with applying information science for the next generation of quality control that eliminates the need for expensive post-process inspection. In this research, a machining process of machine tool is considered in terms of a quality oriented control. The self-optimizing control is proposed for enabling intelligent process monitoring and control which can detect the cutting conditions and status of machining operations. To prove the proposed self-optimizing control system, self-monitoring and self-adjusting, the machining process related to the tool condition such as tool wear was considered in this paper. The most crucial and determining factor to successful maximization of the manufacturing processes in any typical metal cutting process is tool wear. The evolutionary algorithm was developed to diagnose the tool wear. If the amount of tool wear is out of the allowed limit, the new cutting parameters should be generated and adjusted autonomously according to affecting the quality of the machined part through the tool wear.

Personal computers (PCs) are a powerful resource in the EM Laboratory, both as a means of automating the monitoring and control of microscopes, and as a tool for quantifying the interpretation of data. Not only is a PC more versatile than a piece of dedicated data logging equipment, but it is also substantially cheaper. In this tutorial the practical principles of using a PC for these types of activities will be discussed. The PC can form the basis of a system to measure, display, record and store the many parameters which characterize the operational conditions of the EM. In this mode it is operating as a data logger. The necessary first step is to find a suitable source from which to measure each of the items of interest. It is usually possible to do this without having to make permanent corrections or modifications to the EM.

A modern dairy farm is a complex biotechnical “man-machine-animal” system, where purposeful human activity concentrates mainly on the control of the “machine” and “animal” subsystems, thus making the whole system ergatic. Increasing the interaction effi ciency of machine subsystems with biological objects (animals) requires an in-depth study of the properties and characteristics of the latter, their behavior, adaptive and refl ex mechanisms that ensure the mutual adaptation of machine and biological subsystems. The paper considers general functionality of the “animal” subsystem, which includes lists of monitored parameters (functions) in pre-weaning, pre-lactation and lactation periods. In a similar way, functionals of the subsystems of the general musculoskeletal development of the animal’s body, respiratory and digestive organs, comfort of the habitat, development and control of the reproductive organs of lactating cows were obtained accompanied with a list of controlled functions and parameters. To carry out a set of research activities in this fi eld, FSAC VIM is planning to carry out a complex project that will increase the levels of automation, digitalization and intellectualization of animal husbandry, provide for comfortable environment, optimal rediced-impact service modes for animals and their extended productive longevity, increased quality of milk and autonomous functioning of individual local biotechnical subsystems.

Place of monitoring and control of risks of financial stability of the state in the system of ensuring financial security of the state was substantiated. Methods of identifying threats to Ukraine's financial security through the current and strategic analysis of financial system development indicators were considered. Tendencies of economic development of Ukraine in the context of revealing sources of threats to financial stability of the state were analyzed. Dynamic analysis of the actual values of the financial security indicators of Ukraine as a whole and its separate components had been carried out. Threats to Ukraine's financial security were identified based on comparative and trend analysis. Reasons for the critical state of debt, banking and monetary security in the financial structure and the preconditions for the emergence of systemic threats had been investigated. Systematization of risks and threats to Ukraine's financial security by its components had been carried out. Influence of systemic threats in the financial sphere on the economic security of the state was generalized. International experience of monitoring financial stability of the state was analyzed. Additional risks to the national financial system are associated with the globalization and digitization of the state financial system that are not taken into account by valid methodological recommendations for calculating the level of economic security of Ukraine were highlighted.
