Four men, cutting at once, began to fell the big elm at 10 a.m., went to dinner at 12, and got through at 2:30 p.m. They used a block and tackle with five falls, fastened to the base of a buttonwood, and drawn by a horse, to pull it over the right way; so it fell without harm down the road. One said he pulled twenty turns. I measured it at 3 p.m., just after the top had been cut off. It was 15 feet to the first crotch. At 75 feet, the most upright and probably highest limb was cut off, and measured 27 inches in circumference. As near as I could tell from the twigs on the snow, and what the choppers said who had just removed the top, it was about 108 feet high. At 15 feet from the stump, it divided into two parts, about in equal size. One was decayed and broken in the fall, being undermost, the other (which also proved hollow) at its origin was 114/12 feet in circumference. (The whole tree directly beneath this crotch was 19 3/12 round.) … I could count pretty well 105 rings....

Cryogenic processes, especially “warm” significantly affect the reliability of the northern infrastructure. Thermoerosion is the process of destruction of the banks or ground massives constructed by the permafrost and ground ice, by thermal and mechanical influence of the running water. Tazovskiy peninsula, where the largest gas production facilities are located, is referred in Russia as “The kingdom of the thermoerosion”.

The geodetical level of the surface on Tazovskiy peninsula varies between 15–20 m. and 60–80 m., but the thermoerosion processes are very active. The area exposed to thermoerosion was 10–15% of the territory in the beginning of 1980th and actively enlarges.

The period of the maximum active layer thaw depth is August, when the precipitation amount is the highest, which coupled with the raising trend of the air temperature (0.8°C per decade) (IPCC, 2014) and growing temperature (up to 1.5-2o warmer) of the upper permafrost layers, results in the ground destruction. The appearance of the thermoerosion process we clarify by the highly blurred sediments at the surface: the upper Quaternary silty iced (up to 40–60%) sands or sandy loams. The other auspicious factor is polygonal ice systems formed by iced peatlands (2–3 m of depth) serving as the positions of the future thermoerosion cuts. Our investigations showed that in the raising probability of the erosion occurrence, weak root systems of the shrubs and grasses can not cope with the process.

The factor that significantly intensify the speed of the thermoerosion is active snow melting in May–beginning of June. Together with increasing snowiness of the winters it additionally activies the processes of gullies formation. The conducted field works during the snowmelt revealed lumpy collapsing of the big ground blocks near the lateral sides of the watercourses which was the main reason of erosion speed boost. The blocks remained frozen, the rate of the lateral erosion was 15–20 cm/per day, the widths was up to 1.5–2 m.

We started to observe dynamics of the thermoerosion in early 2000’s. The rate of the gullies growing on the right side of the r. Nyudya-Adlyurdyepoka was up to 10 m. per year. The length of the gully was 60 m. in 2006 and it was U-shaped. In 2016 the gully had length of 80 m.. The profile of the gully became V-shape everywhere, the gully was branched out and the steepness of the edges increased. More detailed characteristics of the other representative gullies development will be consider in this research.

Our study showed that construction and exploitation of the road systems between the deposit fields entailed the formation of linear overmoistured zones near the roads and formed new thermoerosion systems.

Satellite data showed that territory occupied by thermoerosion processes raised by 15–20 % in the last 40 years. It is due to climatic changes, the active exploitation of the technogenic systems on iced and easily blurred soils.

This work is supported by the RFBR project â„–18-05-60080 «Dangerous nival-glacial and cryogenic processes and their impact on infrastructure in the Arctic»

The article examines the judicial development of the Charter's equality provision. The author proposes a "middle-of-the-road" or contextual approach as the most preferable path for this development. He canvasses the approaches to either side of the "middle ground," those of the democrats and the civil libertarians. He argues that both of these more extreme positions should be discouraged in favour of the more "equivocal" contextual approach. After explaining how the contextual approach has arisen and been developed in recent Supreme Court cases, the author examines this methodology with respect to the interpretation of the Income Tax Act He then utilizes the methodology to resolve some difficult factual situations arising from application of the Income Tax Act.

Seeing the Development and growth of one ot the transportation in Indonesia, namely land transportation, it turns out thatit has significantly increased significantly, including the users of motorized vehicles, especially two-wheeled motorbikes (motorbikes). According to Article 28 E paragraph 3 of the 1945 Constitution, everyone has the right to freedom of association, assembly and expression. So that on that basis some people who have the same hobby and passion about motorbikes establish the Motorcycle Club Community Association in Indonesia. Talking about the Motorcycle Club Community reminds us of a bunch of people who like to act arrogant and anarchic on the road when touring. The existence of Lady Bikers is very interesting to discuss, because with their appearance it makes the Negative Stigma (Arrogance and Anarchy) about the Motorcycle Club Community in the eyes of the cloud community become a little dissolved and is expected to be able to color and give a soft / feminine side in the Motorcycle Club Community which generally consists of Men. On the other hand, the presence of Lady Bikers can lead to Decency Crimes on the Street.

In a modern, civilized, democratic and political state like India, it is the law of the laws – the Constitution of India – which has conferred freedom on us and the right to live with human dignity and conscience. The constitution's widespread and deeply pervasive network of laws leaves hardly any human activity outside its net which is not governed by some law or the other. Birth, death and marriage have to be registered. There are laws on how to move or drive on the road, how to travel, where to smoke or not to smoke, what to eat and what not to eat, where to go and where to refrain from going and so on. The air that we breathe, the water that we drink, the food that we eat, and the house in which we live are all governed by law. From a little child purchasing an eraser or a pencil, to an adult travelling by air within or outside the country – all are subject to the law. Law determines the boundaries of human behavior which determines the limits of transgression as well as compliance. Everyone is supposed to know the law and the ignorance of law does not excuse anyone. So pervasive, complex and fast changing are the laws that a car bumper reads “Do it today, tomorrow it may be illegal,” such is the pace of today's growth and evolution of the law.

There was a settlement on the south-Pannonian road Siscia – Cibalae (modern-day Sisak and Vinkovci) that was in the Roman travel documents from the 2 centuries (Claudii Ptolemaei Geographia, Itinerarium Antonini, Tabul a Peutingeriana, Ravennatis anonymi Cosmographia) recorded under various names: Κέρτισσα, Cirtisa, Cirtisia, Certis, Certisia. On a fragmentary marble inscription from the 2nd – 7th nd half of the 4th - early 5 centuries, the form Certissia was inscribed. The find spot unfortunately remains unknown, but the closest candidate is the site of Štrbinci near Đakovo in NE Croatia. The inscription reads: [--- a]ccede ad Certissia[m ---]/[---] memor cupias [---]/[---] est caput v[iarum ---] ili v[iae? ---] / ----- A possible translation goes: … come to Certissia and, remembering, make a wish … here is a caput viarum or caput viae. th A mention of the administrative status of Certissia, which would support an official caput viarum there (the point from which distances were measured) is missing from the written documents. On the other hand, the Antoine Itinerary supplies an invaluable piece of information, that namely, it was exactly in Certissia that a road branched off from the main route Emona – Sirmium (modern-day Ljubljana / Slovenia and Sremska Mitrovica / Serbia) towards Dalmatia and its capital Salonae (modern-day Solin on the eastern Adriatic coast). This means that Certissia was at least a crossroads, if not exactly a caput viarum. It was exactly on the basis of this fact that I ventured the restoration caput v(iarum) or caput v(iae) in my previous discussions of the abovementioned inscription. It was extensively discussed in an early Christian context (Migotti 2012). On the contrary, in this paper the stress is put on the nature of the inscription and the arguments in favour of the restoration caput viarum. This was provoked by the fact that, while the presumption of the public inscription, as well as the reading, restoration and interpretation of the Certissia inscription, were accepted in Croatian archaeology, they were rejected in some foreign scholarly circles, who decided that the inscription was in fact en epitaph, and the restoration caput viarum incorrect. However, the idea of an epitaph should be refused on a couple of grounds. The first one is the lack of convincing parallels even among early Christian epitaphs conveying itinerary data. Secondly, the Certissia inscription starts with the praise to the town, addressed to the passer-by, with no mention of the deceased in the first part of the inscription, while such mention should figure most oddly in the reminder of the text. Accordingly, the inscription should have been public, most probably related to a building of an unknown kind. Furthermore, at least two arguments corroborate the possibility of the restitution caput viarum, the first being the administrative status of Certissia. Although capita viarum were in most cases larger towns of some importance, this was not a sine qua non, as in Late Antiquity even smaller civitates, such as Certissia must have been, could have assumed such role. Another argument is the fact that one of the roads that led from Salonae towards the inner of the province of Dalmatia ended in Servitium (modern-day Gradiška, Bosnia and Herzegovina) on the right bank of the River Sava. It has been supposed that this road, before reaching the Sava, split in two directions: westwards to Servitium and eastwards to Urbate (unidentified place in Bosnia and Herzegovina, possibly Srbac). The latter place was the point at which the road from Certissia to the River Sava ended. Therefore, while Salonae was a caput viarum for the routes within the province of Dalmatia, Certissia could have performed such role for a Pannonian extension of one of Dolabella’s Dalmatian roads.

The main objective of this study is the substantiation of experiment as one of the key features of the world music in Ukraine. Based on the creative works of the brightest world music representatives in Ukraine, «Dakha Brakha» band, the experiment is regarded as a kind of creative setting. Methodology and scientific approaches. The methodology was based on the music practice theory by T. Cherednychenko. The author distinguishes four binary oppositions, which can describe the musical practice. According to one of these oppositions («observance of the canon or violation of the canon»), the musical practices, to which the Ukrainian musicology usually classifies the world music («folk music» and «minstrel music»), are compared with the creative work of «Dakha Brakha» band. Study findings. A lack of the setting to experiment in the musical practices of the «folk music» and «minstrel music» separates the world music musical practice from them. Therefore, the world music is a separate type of musical practice in which the experiment is crucial. The study analyzed several scientific articles of Ukrainian musicologists on the world music; examined the history of the Ukrainian «Dakha Brakha» band; presented a list of the folk songs used in the fifth album «The Road» by «Dakha Brakha» band; and showed the degree of the source transformation by musicians based on the example of the «Monk» song. The study findings can be used to form a comprehensive understanding of the world music musical practice. The further studies may be related to clarification of the other parameters of the world music musical practice, and to determination of the experiment role in creative works of the other world music representatives, both Ukrainian and foreign. The practical study value is the ability to use its key provisions in the course of modern music in higher artistic schools of Ukraine. Originality / value. So far, the Ukrainian musicology did not consider the experiment role as the key one in the world music.

Transit stations are generally well known as nodes of spaces where percentage of people walking are relatively high. The issue is do more planning is actually given to create walkability. Creating walking led transit stations involves planning of walking distance, providing facilities like pathways, toilets, seating and lighting. On the other hand, creating walking led transit station for women uncover a new epitome. Walking becomes one of the most important forms of mobility for women in developing countries nowadays. Encouraging women to use public transportation is not just about another effort to promote the use of public transportation but also another great endeavour to reduce numbers of traffic on the road. This also means, creating an effort to control accidents rate, reducing carbon emission, improving health and eventually, developing the quality of life. Hence, in this paper, we sought first to find out the factors that motivate women to walk at transit stations in Malaysia. A questionnaire survey with 562 female user of Light Railway Transit (LRT) was conducted at LRT stations along Kelana Jaya Line. Both built and non-built environment characteristics, particularly distance, safety and facilities were found as factors that are consistently associated with women walkability. With these findings, the paper highlights the criteria which are needed to create and make betterment of transit stations not just for women but also for walkability in general.

Oral hygiene is defined as the practice of keeping the mouth clean and healthy, by brushing and flossing to prevent the occurrence of any gum diseases like periodontitis or gingivitis. The main aim of oral health hygiene is to prevent the buildup of plaque, which is defined as a sticky film of bacteria and food formed on the teeth. The coastal guard is an official who is employed to watch the sea near a coast for ships that are in danger or involved with illegal activities. Coastal guards have high possibilities of being affected by mesothelioma or lung cancer due to asbestos exposure. So, a questionnaire consisting of 20 questions was created and circulated among a hundred participants who were coastal guards, through Google forms. The responses were recorded and tabulated in the form of bar graphs. Out of a hundred participants, 52.4% were not aware of the fact that coastal guards have high chances of developing lung cancer and Mesothelioma. 53.7% were aware of the other oral manifestations of lung cancer other than bleeding gums. Majority of the coastal guards feel that they are given enough information about dental hygiene protocols. Hence, to conclude, oral hygiene habits have to be elaborated using various tools in the right manner to ensure better health of teeth and gums.

Buying and selling is a way to transfer land rights according to the provisions in Article 37 paragraph (1) of Government Regulation Number 24 of 1997 concerning Land Registration which must include the deed of the Land Deed Making Official to register the right of land rights (behind the name) to the Land Office to create legal certainty and minimize the risks that occur in the future. However, in everyday life there is still a lot of buying and selling land that is not based on the laws and regulations that apply, namely only by using receipts and trust in each other. This is certainly very detrimental to both parties in the transfer of rights (behind the name), especially if the other party is not known to exist like the Case in Decision Number 42 / Pdt.G / 2010 / PN.Mtp
