This work presents the results of a postgraduate thesis on communication, particularly the use of language. Messenger is one of the most popular ways for communicating by signs and symbols. This study was carried out on junior high school students in state education. This research explores the possible impact on junior high school students’ written work due to their use of Messenger. To address this question, the referential communication model with the qualitative approach was used in order to carry out a comparative study. Data were gathered from 16 junior high school students between 15 and 17 years of age who were paired into two groups for each part of the investigation. The research showed that it was possible to categorize the students into three groups: those who constantly use Internet, those who do not constantly use Internet and the rest who do not use it. The end results reveal that there is little relationship between the use of signs and symbols on Messenger and the quality of written work presented by junior high school students.

Number of students as road accident victims due to human factors has been significantly increased every year. This research aims to examine the implementation management of traffic ethics education policy among high school students. This study employed mixed method, a combination of quantitative and qualitative research method. The population and sample are SMA students who ride motorcycles for their daily mobility. The sampling technique used is Multi-stage proportionate random sampling. By using Isaac and Michael formula, a minimum sample of 291 respondents was obtained. Data were collected through questionnaire, interviews, observation, focus group discussion (FGD) and documentation, while analysis was carried out in descriptive quantitative method. The research result showed that the traffic ethics education policies have been implemented well in Yogyakarta by applying well communication, disposition and bureaucratic. However, the lack of resources such as the absent of national curriculum on traffic ethics education (TEE), lack of safety road trainings for teachers and lack of families support, have limited the effectiveness of TEE in building students attitudes on using road and maintaining safety riding.

Introduction: The occurrence of SCD in young adults is devastating to a community. It is estimated that over 1,000 of these deaths occur annually in the USA. Experience in Italy utilizing ECG screening has demonstrated an 89% reduction in SCD in young athletes. Reports in the literature suggest a high % of abnormal findings in athletes. Concern is therefore raised that ECG screening will lead to a large number of abnormal ECGs which may lead to widespread testing and anxiety for the students. Methods: We have developed an efficient screening process to perform ECG testing on high school students utilizing community volunteers. Six high schools in the Chicago suburban region cooperated in an ECG screening program. Screening was performed during regular school hours. A total of 9,125 students were tested. A total of 138 of ECGs were abnormal (2%). The ECG abnormalities detected are outlined in Fig. 1. Many of the ECG abnormalities are likely to represent clinically important findings for these young adults. Conclusion: ECG screening of high school student results in an acceptable % of abnormal findings. The types of abnormalities detected are often of clinical significance. Number of Abnormal ECGs
