This article seeks to examine the dialectic of Sufism orientation and Kalam with a special focus on the intersection between these two realms during the 1st and 2nd centuries of Hijri. This study emphasizes three aspects: the background and chronology of the intersection, the issues arose in it, and the characteristics of this intersection. The study reveals that political and sociological along with intellectual and academic factors became the background of the intersection between Sufism and Kalam in the 1st and 2nd century of Hijri. The main issues developed in this intersection dealt mainly with faith (īmān), infidelity (kufr), the problems of human deeds (af‘āl al-‘ibād), and the relationship of the essence (dhāt) and the divine attributes (ṣifāt) of Allah. There have been three characteristics of the intersection that can be mapped. Firstly, the interrelation of doctrine and political attitudes. This means that there is a strong correlation, even integration, between the doctrine of a sect (firqah) and political attitudes. Secondly, thematic theological interconnection. This means that there are common issues that are discussed in matters of theology. Thirdly, rational debate is based on rational approaches. This means that the conflict of thoughts occurred is essentially a dialogue because it is not on a different study line, but in the same area using a rational approach.

“Education,” notes Philip Converse, “is everywhere the universal solvent.” Whatever the ill of the body politic, many believe that greater education improves the condition. Much scholarship explores the impact of education on political attitudes and behaviors, but scholars have not examined the relationship of education to support for political compromise. This is especially topical, as compromise between parties seems harder than ever to achieve, yet compromise is necessary for democratic governance. We examine whether higher levels of education lead to support for compromise and find that education does matter, but the relationship is conditional. For liberals and moderates, more education promotes greater support for compromise. For conservatives, those with more education are not more likely to support compromise than those with less education. We argue that for conservatives, education matters for compromise support, but it also leads to better understanding of bedrock ideological principles that inhibit approval of compromise.

The commercial revolution in Technology has reconfigured communication modes into computer mediated communications (CMC). Research studies have been discussing the positive aspects of computer mediated communications socially. However, few studies have discussed the ‘dark side’ in the commercial revolution of technology. As a result of this gap identification, the aim of this study is to see the relationship of CMC with special focus on the emails, chat, groups and Instant text messages with escalation of conflict within the organizations specifically in context of a developing country where historically, the CMC is an emerging field and talk of this decade. This study is experimental in nature and finds positive relationship between escalation of organizational conflict and CMC. Results also show that likeness or dis-likeness, personality dimensions, moods, situation and time of receiving the messages through CMCs also has an impact on escalation of conflict in Organizations

The paper presents biographical data on Nićifor Perić, Metropolitan of Raška-Prizren and Skenderija. It analyzes his role of a religious leader, who also had jurisdiction in the marital and partly hereditary law. A special focus is put on his work concerning the establishment of important church institutions and funds. The paper explains his relationship towards education and one part focuses on the issue of the monastery of Visoki Dečani, especially when the foundation of the Committee for debt settlement and stay of Russian monks there is concerned. The paper also explains the nature of the Metropolitan’s misunderstandings both with the Ottoman authorities and the authorities of the Kingdom of Serbia, because he did not yield in his firm attitude concerning the preservation of church privileges, including the authority over schools. Another focus is on the relationship of the Great Church (Ecumenical Patriarchate) with Metropolitan Nićifor and the events that took place during his rule in the Raška-Prizren and Skenderija Metropolitanate.

The objective of the paper is to present various forms of constitutionalism, with a special focus on constitutionalism understood as a form of reflection of political community. The paper adopts the perspective of reflexivity theory in order to reconstruct the basic alternatives in that regard, and also to reveal their potential advant ges and weaknesses. As it is demonstrated, it is precisely philosophical and sociological conceptions of reflexivity that are particularly suitable for understanding the specificities of constitutionalism – indeed, the latter, as a discourse about the foundations of the political and legal existence of a given community, inevitably assumes the form of reflection. The special focus within the paper is devoted to two key distinctions within the sphere of reflexivity theory, which impact the manner in which constitutional reflection is performed. The first of the distinctions concerns the relationship of reflection to tradition, while the second is done according to the criterion of the logical structure of reflexive cognizance. It is argued here that the dominant version of modern constitutionalism prescribes that constitutional reflexion be perceived as a closed process with the objective of emancipation from tradition. An alternative to this mainstream approach can be proposed in the form of capturing constitutionalism as reflexion with its foundation in tradition, at the same time dialogically mediated in other forms of social and political discourse.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the relationship of sex and age with Modic and Pfirrmann classifications and verify the relationship between the two classifications in the group of patients studied. METHODS: 300 magnetic resonance scans (MRI) of the lumbar segment of the patients were evaluated; each lumbar segment (L1-L2, L2-L3, L3-L4, L4-L5 and L5-S1) was assessed according to Modic and Pfirrmann classifications. RESULTS: The type III of Pfirrmann was the most prevalent, whereas Modic was absent on most levels analyzed. The Modic signal was present mainly in the lower levels (L4-L5 and L5-S1) and in females. CONCLUSION: There is a strong correlation between the changes of the endplate and intervertebral discs, evidenced by changes in MRI. The relationship between Pfirrmann and Modic classifications is statistically higher the greater the disc degeneration.
