Facilitated Communication method aims at forming the skill of voluntary communication and is often used as one of the ways to communicate and interact with the development of writing in nonverbal children. The author’s experience of 10 years of applying of Facilitated Communication with the use of computer in classes with non-speaking children with ASD and other disorders gives grounds to draw conclusions about the usefulness of the method for the development of a self-contained writing. Examples of working with children and youth in the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization «Our Sunny World» using the Facilitated Communication method are given. Practical recommendations for working with children, which are often easier to master the skill of computer typing than more labor-intensive writing on paper are also provided. Present article is addressed to teachers and to parents of non-speaking children.

Tito Mukhopadhyay is a profoundly autistic man whose mother, Soma Mukhopadhyay, since he was 11 years old in 2000, to the present, has presented him on the television programs BBC, CNN, PBS, Closer To Truth, and Good Morning America, and via other forms of media and literature, as being able to write-communicate and type-communicate not only normally, but at an advanced level, and on his own accord – that is, from an independent content of his mind – with the assistance of the Facilitated Communication method that she treats him with, which she refers to as the “Rapid Prompting Method”. In this article, I provide the intricate visual, auditory, and behavioral observations of the interactions of Tito Mukhopadhyay and Soma Mukhopadhyay that were overlooked, since 2000, by innumerable millions of people, including the large array of scientists and physicians who studied them. I concurrently adduce various novel concepts in order to characterize my observations. My observational analyses, and concurrent conceptualization, demonstrate the presence of what I refer to as “Factitious Heroism By Proxy”, and Factitious Heroism. I demonstrate that Soma Mukhopadhyay engages in a multitude of variations of novel, highly surreptitious, multifaceted Facilitated Communication fraud with Tito, which I refer to as “Factious Heroism By Proxy”, which is a novel conception, and novel diagnostic category, that I have formulated. “Factious Heroism” is discussed by Dr. Marc Feldman. Soma concurrently engages in Factitious Heroism with regard to how she publicly presents herself.

This is a qualitative study that examines the facilitated communication method within the context of general communication. “Reading” another person, or understanding the intent and meaning of an individual's communication, is a complex process that encompasses verbal and nonverbal messages. Various strategies employed by both the facilitated communication user and communication partner to interpret and clarify messages are examined in depth.

Studies of migration industries have demonstrated the critical role that border-spanning businesses play in international mobility. To date, most research has focused on meso-level entrepreneurial initiatives that operate in a legal gray area under a state that provides an environment for their growth or decline. Extending this work, the present article advances a taxonomy of the ways states partner with migration industries based on the nature of their relationship (formal or informal) and the type of actor involved (for-profit or non-profit). The analysis focuses on low-paid temporary migrant work programs — schemes that require substantial state involvement to function — and examines cases from the East Asian democracies with strong economies that have become net importers of migrants: Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea. The conclusion, incorporating cases beyond Asia, explicates the properties and limits of each arrangement based on the degree of formality and importance of profit.

Many non-profits face barriers developing systems to collect and analyze data that can leverage the type of information that their funders and stakeholders require. Constraints such as limited evaluation expertise, time, and money make this virtually impossible to achieve without a viable solution. In an increasingly competitive environment, it is imperative that non-profits find innovative ways to track and measure their work within their evaluative capabilities. There are different ways in which evaluators can help even the most constrained non-profit organizations capture their reach and make the most of their existing data. This article proposes a three-step framework for the development of a data-collection and -analysis system through the use of spreadsheets. Not only is this proposed system feasible within the constraints of the non-profit sector, but it is also valuable for the sustainability of their services over time.

There is growing evidence that in the UK demands for non-profit and voluntary sector organisations to comply with funders’ target driven priorities are often in tension with organisations’ social goals. The implications of this for employees are not yet sufficiently understood. The present article builds on Bateson et al.’s theory of double-bind to develop a socially contextualised model to understand employees’ experiences of workplace contradictions in the sector. Drawing from data provided by 49 individuals working in three case study organisations, our conceptualisation of a ‘non-profit double-bind’ provides a new and novel way of understanding how social meta-communicative processes serve to embed or reframe contradictions within intense employment relationships.

Cyril is one of the most prominent persons of young Christian Church and also most important witnesses of Christian initiation in this Church. He's an author of Catechesis - one of most valuable treasures and most current writings of Christian antiquity as far as message is concerned. The Catechesis clearly introduce the way of Christian initiation, the way of initiation into subsequent truths of beliefs, which I will attempt to discover and present. They also deliver necessary (independent from time and places) sensibility of spirit and Christian rules. In present article I will try to answer the questions: whether nowadays this first, initial forms of initiation, about which we inquire from described here Catechesis, are able to influence as considerably, as they did 2000 years ago? Can they similarly affect the manners of modern children and youth?
