In the world, during the past 10 years, when evaluating development of a particular area, there has been a tendency to take into consideration those inhabitants’ subjective appraisal and attitude to the living conditions who live in this area, more often these indicators are the general life satisfaction and feeling of happiness. Analysing Latvia’s inhabitants’ subjective attitude author concludes that inhabitants of Latvia are very pessimistic in assessing their lives in this country. As surveys indicate, the economic factors have an important influence on people’s subjective satisfaction. The problem of the research is that during the last two years, there has been a tendency to improvement of economic indicators in Latvia, and also in Lithuania and Estonia, but when comparing the closest neighbours, the Latvian inhabitants’ subjective satisfaction with life is decreasing, but in Lithuania and Estonia it is increasing together with improvement of the economic situation. As a result, the author came to a conclusion that together with changes of the GDP indicator value, development of people’s subjective appraisal greatly depends on such economic indicators as income inequality, unemployment, inflation and financial assets.

ABSTRACT: ASSERTIVENESS AND SUBJECTIVE WELL-BEING ON UNIVERSITY STUDENT IN THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC TIME This year, the global Covid-19 pandemic hit the world and affected various aspects of life, as well as in the world of education. The pandemic that is there is causing some psychological symptoms in the majority of people. The adaptation to this new situation affects students' subjective well-being. One of the factors related to subjective well being is assertiveness. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between assertiveness and subjective well-being among college students, especially in the global Covid-19 pandemic situation. This research was conducted on 49 students of The Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Widya Gama Mahakam University Samarinda. This study uses an instrument of assertiveness scale, the scale of Satisfaction with Life Scale, and the Scale of Positive and Negative Experience. The analysis was performed using Pearson's product moment correlation technique. The results showed that there was no relationship between assertiveness and subjective well-being in the students of the Teaching and Education Faculty, Widya Gama Mahakam University Samarinda. Keywords: Assertiveness, Subjective Well-Being, University Student Tahun ini, pandemi global Covid-19 melanda dunia dan mempengaruhi berbagai aspek kehidupan, begitu pula dalam dunia pendidikan. Pandemi yang ada menimbulkan beberapa gejala psikologis pada sebagian besar orang. Adaptasi terhadap situasi yang baru ini mempengaruhi kesejahteraan subjektif (subjective well-being) mahasiswa. Salah satu faktor yang berhubungan dengan subjective well-being  adalah asertivitas. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara asertivitas dan subjective well-being pada mahasiswa, khususnya pada situasi pandemi global Covid-19. Penelitian ini dilakukan terhadap 49 mahasiswa Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Widya Gama Mahakam Samarinda. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen skala asertivitas, skala Satisfaction with Life Scale, dan Scale of Positive and Negative Experience. Analisis dilakukan dengan teknik korelasi product moment dari Pearson. Hasil penelitian menujukkan bahwa tidak ada hubungan antara Asertivitas dan Subjective Well-Being pada Mahasiswa Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Widya Gama Mahakam Samarinda. Kata Kunci: Asertivitas, Subjective Well-Being, Mahasiswa

Organizational Justice has the potential to create major impact on organizations and employees alike. These include greater commitment, trust, enhanced job performance, more citizenship behaviors and less number of conflicts. It has been reported that employees seem to have a universal concern for Justice that transcends the self and that many are subject to biases at various point of time in their work life. Sometimes these biases lead to adverse outcomes including decreased level of subjective well-being. Subjective well-being is a broad category that includes life satisfaction, positive affect, and low negative affect, such as anger, sadness and fear. Thus to study the relationship between Organizational justice and subjective well-being, a sample of 88 employees working in Private Universities of NCR region were examined. For this purpose, the Organizational Justice scales consisting of Measure of Procedural & Interactional Justice and Distributive Justice Index scale by Moorman, Blakely & Niehoff (1998) and Subjective Wellbeing Scales inclusive of the Satisfaction with Life Scale(SWLS),Scale of Positive and Negative Experience(SPANE) and Flourishing Scale (FS) by Ed Diener (2004)were used. Results indicate significant relationship between the three types of Organizational justice and subjective well-being of employees.

This study aimed to elucidate how career adaptability (CA) affects subjective well-being by focusing on the psychological adjustment of middle-aged and older workers. Two web-based surveys were conducted at 1-year and 3-month intervals with 3540 workers aged 40 to 64 years, including those eligible for both position-retirement and reemployment. Factor analysis of CA in the first wave extracted two factors “control and confidence” and “concern and curiosity”. Multiple regression analysis, adjusted for important covariates, was conducted with the overall CA and the two factors of CA as the independent variables, and scores of the Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) as the dependent variable. For satisfaction with life, only concern and curiosity had a significant positive association, while control and confidence had no significant association. Analysis by employment stage indicated that only concern and curiosity had a significant positive association with satisfaction with life, while control and confidence had no significant association with any employment stage. The results suggest that the effect of CA on satisfaction with life remains the same, even among those who are position-retired or reemployed at the end of their vocational lives, which is a transition period in their lives.

Abstract Objectives The current study investigated the hypothesis that the relationship between flow states and well-being is mediated by nondual experiences. Past empirical and theoretical work suggests flow states share similarities with nondual experiences. The current study expanded upon previous work by examining the relationships between flow, nondual experiences, emotion, and well-being. Methods Students enrolled in various artistic classes (N = 104) were surveyed once a week for four weeks. Participants reported on their experiences of flow, nonduality, emotion, and psychological and subjective well-being. Results Higher scores on measures of both flow (b = 7.03, SE = 0.82, p < .001) and nondual experiences (b = 0.17, SE = 0.02, p < .001) predicted increased positive emotion immediately after class. Nondual experiences partially mediated this relationship, such that when accounting for nondual experiences, the relationship between flow and positive emotion was significantly decreased (b = 4.30, SE = 0.45, p < .001). Longitudinally, nondual experience also mediated the relationship between flow and satisfaction with life (Sobel t = 1.94, SE = 1.06, p = .05). However, while flow predicted increased psychological well-being (b = 0.32, SE = 0.14, p = .02) after the four weeks, nondual experience did not (b = −0.003, SE = 0.002, p = .13). Conclusions These findings suggest that flow states may facilitate some features of nonduality and share similarities with meditative states. Additionally, the link between flow and well-being may be explained by its similarities to meditative states, and that creative activities could be useful in fostering well-being.

Social media with a variety of platforms provides special communities with their own uniqueness and allows users to share lots of content. The members involves creates a new social community with various phenomena, both positive and negative. Counselors in the millennium era are required to have the insight andknowledge that is qualified to deal with the well being conditions of individuals from activities in social media. Counselors are also required to have specific skills in providing handling with the condition of well being individuals related to the impact of activities on social media.

ABSTRACT: RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN FORGIVENESS AND SUBJECTIVE WELL BEING AMONG ORPHANAGE ADOLESCENTSThis study aims to determine the relationship between forgiveness and subjective well-being in adolescents who are in the orphanage, through the three components contained in it, i.e. life satisfaction, positive affect and negative affect. The subjects of this study were 58 adolescents in the Budi Mulya Muhammadiyah Sukarame orphanage. Data collection method using three scales, those are Heartland Forgiveness Scale (HFS), Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) and Possitive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS). The data analysis technique used is the product moment correlation. The results of the analysis of this study explain that there is a positive relationship between forgiveness and subjective well-being through the three components in SWB. Sexual Harassment at workplace (SHW) is a global phenomenon. However, there has been no prior research on the association of SHW and subjective well-being (SWB) of working women in Pakistan. The SWB is an umbrella term that encompasses concepts such as satisfaction with life (SWL) and subjective happiness (SbH). The 200 working women from the public and private sector organizations in Pakistan were recruited randomly. The Sexual Harassment Experience Questionnaire, The Satisfaction with Life Scale, and Subjective Happiness Scale were administered as the main measures. The study met all the ethical considerations. The data was analyzed by the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences and expressed as baseline characteristics, correlation analysis and t tests. There was statistically significant negative relationship of SHW with SWL and SbH in working women. The young age, high school or less education, single marital status, and working in private sector organization were significantly associated with the increased and decreased experience of SHW and SWB respectively. The study recommended the adoption of anti SHW laws by the working sector and the periodic screening of working women for SWB so as to reduce the phenomenon of SHW and enhance the SWL and SbH in working women.

In this paper a paradox is revealed in the politics of well-being over the means and ends of happiness. That paradox, in brief, is that although happiness is argued to be the ultimate end of all governmentality, in order to serve as that end, it first needs to be translated into a means for bolstering the economy, for only that way can a teleology of happiness gain a foothold in a world which prioritizes economic growth as an end in itself. To show this the paper gives a history of subjective well-being (SWB) research, and contrasts it with the politics of happiness in the UK, where SWB has in the past decade been translated into a discourse around the psychological wealth of the nation via the concepts of mental capital (MC) and mental well-being (MWB).
