BUSINESS MODEL COMPLEMENTARITY AND THE FACTORS THAT DETERMINE IT IN TOURISM BUSINESS FORMATIONS: THE THEORETICAL ASPECT

In order to reveal the complementarity of business models, the factors that determine it in incoming tourism, and to prepare the conceptual model, the following discussion questions should be answered (the research problem is formulated by presenting questions in theoretical context): what is a business model and its structure?; what is business model complementarity?; what traits and identification characteristics are characteristic of it?; what factors determine business model complementarity in incoming tourism? The aim of the research – theoretically substantiate the traits and characteristics of business model complementarity and the factors that determine it in incoming tourism by preparing a conceptual model. Research methods: systematic analysis of scientific literature, comparative analysis. The key results of the research: the concepts and structures of a business model, complementarity and business model complementarity are defined by systematising conceptual insights, interorganizational relations and complementarity; according to the systemic point of view that explains the result of the interaction between an incoming tourism company business model and its structural elements, the conceptual model of business model complementarity and the factors that determine it in incoming tourism, are presented.

The COVID-19 pandemic has profoundly impacted the Brazilian service sector. With the health crisis, challenges and changes in the business models of car dealerships are also intensified. Creativity is discussed by several conceptual approaches. From the point of view of neuroscience, it is a response to the human need of solving problems. It is within this premise that the present work aims to enhance value proposition for a business model centered on automobile e-commerce. This purpose unfolds in an exploratory research on approaches, methodologies, and tools of creativity, as well as the application of Cristiano Alves' Creative Framework in this business model. The analysis of the results signals improvements in solutions for car e-commerce. With this, it is concluded that collective creativity is efficient in the discovery of potentially innovative ideas.

The purpose of the article is to propose a recommendation on the formation of a business model effective in modern conditions. Methods of system and factor analysis, economic and mathematical modeling, grouping, study and synthesis of information and assessment were applied. The essence and content of modern business models were analyzed from the point of view of achieving the commercial success of the organization, including using the example of Tinkoff JSC. It was concluded that the success of the organization at the current stage of business development depends on the development and implementation of new products and processes in the production and management of the organization. In the field of management, this idea is manifested in different forms of organizing business processes, for example, in business groups, business models.

It is absolutely not an accidental phenomenon that the development of Internet overlaps with boom of business model research. The emergence of the Internet has greatly promoted the development and study of business models. This paper focuses on exploration of O2O business model innovation by analyzing the main types, evolution and driving factors of Chinese Internet business model, taking Ctrip as the example. From the social prospective, O2O business model improves value and feeling of the customer experience as well as the operational efficiency of the enterprise value chain and utilization efficiency of social resources. This paper has also put forward what Ctrip can enlighten the development of tourism enterprises.

On their way towards assuring growth and long-term sustainability, many modern small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) from the European Union have set building a stronger brand as one of their primary goals. To achieve this, an integrated framework for managing the continuous enhancement of their brand equity level by adopting digital marketing tools and techniques (DMTTs), has increasingly become a necessity for most of the modern SMEs. However, even if such an approach provides plenty of benefits, such as better audience targeting and reduction of traditional marketing expenses, implementing these complex processes in their business models poses a series of challenges like choosing the best selection of DMTTs. For this reason, a conceptual model is proposed in the first part of the paper, with the aim to highlight a framework that will help underline the links between DMTTs and other key elements that can provide an increase in brand equity of SMEs, thus contributing to growth and enhancing the sustainability level. Following the proposed model, research aimed at two main directions has been conducted in the second part. The first direction was to analyze the degree in which modern SMEs from the European Union located in Romania dedicate themselves toward embracing sustainability goals and principles. The second one represents an analysis using also the SPSS software solution on the most used selections of DMTTs mentioned in the presented conceptual model. The results obtained provide a starting point for those modern SMEs that choose to follow the path of sustainability by creating and enhancing their brand equity through DMTTs.

The business model concept emerged in theory and practice without a consensus on the understanding of the concept, but it has become a well accepted and useful construct in fields such as strategy, organization, information systems and technology. This paper aims to provide an overview of the research on the use of business models focusing on outstanding works in this field, extracting main converging findings unburdened of extant lists of specific citations. Following the overview, a comparison of the seven respective conceptual frameworks of the business model research is presented. Finally, after determining grounds, the business model concept is linked to related complex concept – enterprise architecture.

Presently 44 Norwegian journals receive support from the Councils Publications committee. Through the Nordic Publications Board (NOP-HS) RCN also contributes to the publication of 41 Nordic scholarly journals. This presentation will focus on the challenges facing new and existing business models for scholarly journals from the Research council’s point of view, including comments on the new business model proposed by Gunnar Sivertsen.

The purpose of this paper is threefold. Firstly, it provides business model researchers with a structured analysis of the research that is required to enable business model theories to be developed. A schema for analyzing existing research and for discerning the research required to move towards business model theory building is proposed. The importance of conceptual research along with deductive and inductive empirical research is emphasized. Secondly, the extant business model literature is analyzed according to the research schema to highlight current gaps in the research and the progress being made towards theorization. Thirdly, opportunities for future research are identified and thematically categorized to encourage progressive cycles of conceptual-deductive-inductive research and ultimately, theorizing. The need for business model theory building, both in relation to the business model concept per se and concerning the relationships between business models and other phenomena, is the basis of this article.

Purpose Business models and the business model concept have become a fixture of scholarly and managerial attention. With a focus on how actors create, capture and disseminate value, business model research holds the promise to inform the tourism sector’s search for ways to innovate and change outdated business practices. Yet, the concept has inspired little research tackling the contingencies of the tourism context. The purpose of this paper is to address this gap in this review and research agenda on business models in tourism. Design/methodology/approach In this paper, the authors review and synthesize contributions from publications in EBSCO, Emerald Insight, ProQuest and Science Direct databases, that make explicit use of the business model concept in tourism (anytime up to September 2016). We conceptualize the identified articles as a coherent body of knowledge on business models in tourism with the objective of identifying common themes that characterize existing contributions. Findings From the review of 28 qualified articles, the authors identify four emergent themes: sector-specific configurations, the role of different value types, design themes for consistency and regulatory contingencies. These themes inform three domains in which the authors present avenues for tourism-specific studies on business models, as well as their management and innovation that the authors position in relation to the general business model literature. Originality/value This review details how researchers across disciplines conceptualize the business model. Together with the identified directions for further research, this literature review thus establishes a common conceptual basis and stock of knowledge for the study of business models in tourism research.

The Industrial Internet of Things is recently a widely discussed phenomenon. However, business level effects of this phenomenon are by now underresearched. We tackle this research gap by presenting an in-depth analysis of business model changes manufacturing firms employ to adequately react to this technological development. Against the background of a multiple-case study we identify and characterise three archetypes of business models manufacturing firm implement in order to benefit from opportunities provided by the Industrial Internet of Things. Furthermore, we present insights on how firms innovate their extant business model in this context. Thereby, our study considerably contributes to business model research and additionally bolsters up a strategic firm level perspective on the Industrial Internet of Things.
