Introduction. Cloud computing is a new model of computing based on network technology where computer-related technologies are provided as services that are permanently available for use. This technology saves faculty members’ time, and increases their interaction and communication with colleagues and students. Moreover, cloud computing solutions help faculty members finish and follow up all the required courses, in addition to allowing the faculty members to store and retrieve information comprehensively and immediately. As a result, using cloud computing provides practical, interactive solutions to deal with the academic tasks which a faculty member needs to perform his/her current academic work.Aim. The current study aimed to uncover the reality of using cloud computing to develop the teaching competencies.Methodology and research methods. The study relied on applying the survey method based on a descriptive approach using two types of questionnaire as the main tools for data collection. The sample of the study includes 48 faculty members and 103 students from the College of Education at Jouf University.Results and scientific novelty. The results showed that self-assessment of using cloud computing to develop self-learning teaching competencies among faculty members is of a high level, while the teaching competencies for the application of cloud computing in self-directed learning among faculty members are of an average level according to their students. The results also demonstrated no significant relationship between these two main types of assessment.Practical significance. The current study is significant in light of the fact that it facilitates to understand the impact of utilising cloud computing to accomplish proficient and educational abilities for faculty members at Jouf University.

Modes of teaching and learning have had to rapidly shift amid the COVID-19 pandemic. As an emergency response, students from Philippine public schools were provided learning modules based on a minimized list of essential learning competencies in Biology. Using a cross-sectional survey method, we investigated students’ perceptions of the Biology self-learning modules (BSLM) that were designed in print and digitized formats according to a constructivist learning approach. Senior high school STEM students from grades 11 (n = 117) and 12 (n = 104) participated in a survey using a 3-point Likert-scale questionnaire uploaded online through Google Forms. The survey results indicate that majority of the students perceived the modules positively, suggesting that aspects of the modules that were salient to students corresponded to essential elements of constructivist pedagogies. However, during interviews, students reported several difficulties in learning with BSLM as it was constrained by, to name a few, the use of unfamiliar words, lack of access to supporting resources, slow internet connection, and time constraints. To address these problems, teachers reported that they gave deadline extensions, complemented modules with other channels of support, and used online and offline platforms for reaching out to students to answer their queries and plan out their schedule for the week. The findings across the data sources point to the complex demands of emergency distance education that teachers, as curriculum designers and enactors, need to bear in mind in order to craft productive pedagogies, constructivist or otherwise, during this unprecedented time.

Objectives: To study the effect of emotional intelligence on the job performance of high school principals in the municipality of Shendi, River Nile State, Sudan. Methods: This study was conducted using Dalip Singh's model of emotional intelligence in the managerial environment. The levels of emotional intelligence of managers have been studied in terms of the three components of the model (emotional sensitivity, emotional maturity, and emotional competence) and their impact on managers' ability to lead (work teams, relationship management, and the ability to motivate workers morally), as well as their ability to manage and resolve conflict. Methods: The researcher adopted the descriptive and analytical approach that relies on collecting data on the phenomenon and its interpretation using the SPSS statistical program for data analysis (2018-2020). questionnaire was used to obtain the opinions of the study sample consisting of (20) secondary education managers, using the comprehensive survey method. Findings: The most important finding, emotional sensitivity comes in the first place in terms of influencing job performance effectiveness (leadership, relationship management, ability to motivate, as well as conflict management and resolution); Moreover, 91% of the respondents considered to have a very high level of emotional sensitivity. Improvements/ Applications: The study concluded that managers have the ability to manage the current environment, work in harmony with others and achieve interest in them: the reason for this is that they have this advantage. Value: This is one of the first studies to be conducted in this region to analyze the impact of emotional intelligence on education managers.

The present study aimed to investigate Indonesian second language (L2) learners’ level of resilience and the relationship between their resilience and their self-directed learning (SDL) in an online learning setting at the time of the Covid-19 pandemic. The present study used a survey method by distributing Google Form questionnaires. The participants were 187 university student participants taking English for Academic Purposes (EAP) classes online in their respective departments. It was conducted to fill the void in resilience literature in the Indonesian L2 context and to find out the Indonesian learners’ resilience in the online learning setting as well as to know whether learners’ resilience was associated with their SDL, a critical element to succeed in online learning. The study found that learners possessed a high level of resilience. Learners were found to have a high level of realistic optimism and self-discipline, prominent characteristics of resilience. However, they reported a slightly lower level of capability in handling multiple tasks at the same time. The study further found that learners’ resilience was significantly, moderately, and positively correlated with their SDL. Based on the findings, possible contributions and implications are stated alongside the limitations of the study and possible directions for future research.

It has been observed and believed that that employee engagement and organizational culture are directly or indirectly linked with organizational performance. Engagement of employees is well aware of the business context, and works with colleagues to improve the performance within the job for the benefit of the organization. Organizational culture is the core competency for an organization. It will impact effectiveness or performance of the individuals, the groups and the whole organization. The purpose of the present study is to find out the level of faculty engagement and perception about the prevailing organizational culture and its relationship with each other. For this purpose 221 faculty members working in various NCAAA accredited University of Saudi Arabia with more than 2 years of working experience were taken as subject using survey method and purposive random sampling techniques were used to collect the data. It has been found that faculty members were revealing high level of employee engagement and moderate level of organizational culture which leads the University to achieve world class NCAAA accreditation. The results were also discussed on the basis of certain demographic variables like gender, level of education etc. and the results were discussed and suggestions were made accordingly.

Abstract Objectives This study aimed to evaluate the impact of flipped learning in faculty development program (FDP) dedicated for developing key-feature questions (KFQs), and to compare examinees’ success and their opinions for the KFQs in a board exam. Methods The study group consisted of two cohorts – Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes Society Board members (n=11) and Pediatric Endocrinology Subspecialty 2019 Board Examination examinees (n=22). We used flipped learning approach to develop KFQs. This entailed writing KFQs while learning took place online. The discussion and refinement of the questions for the exam were done during the face-to-face meeting. At the end, feedback was taken from both cohorts. Results The faculty members developed 14 KFQs during the flipped learning process. They found the training useful (Md=9, IQR=1), and expressed high satisfaction (Md=9, IQR=1) for flipped learning approach. According to the faculty members, peer review was an important step in the flipped learning instructions for revising and improving the KFQs. Conclusions A successful intervention of flipped learning approach has been tested in a FDP dedicated for KFQ writing. During flipped learning, the board (faculty) members were more engaged, motivated for self-learning and collaboration, and encouraged for robust face-to-face discussions.

AbstractAim. The study was to assess the level of stress and the health locus of control in parents of hospitalized newborns.Material and methods. The study covered a group of 150 parents of 126 newborns who were hospitalized in the Neonatal Pathology Ward at the University Children’s Hospital in Lublin. The diagnostic survey method was applied with the use of an original questionnaire as well as some standardized tools: Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10) and Multidimensional Health Locus of Control Scale (MHLC – version B).Results. In more than a half of the subjects (54.0%), a high level of stress was observed. Every fourth (26.1%) parent was characterized by an average level of stress and nearly every fifth (19.3%) by a low level of stress. The highest indicator was characterized by the domain of the internal health control locus. Every fifth parent represented an undifferentiated type - weak or magnifying the impact of others (22.0% and 20.0% respectively). The smallest group of parents (5.3%) belonged to the externally-oriented, strong type. Conclusions. The parents of hospitalized newborns are characterized mainly by high and average levels of stress and low level of severity of health control location within each of its domains. The highest indicator of internal locus control and the influence of others are characterized by parents with low and average levels of stress. The dominant type of locus of health control that characterizes parents is the undifferentiated type – weak and magnifying the impact of others.

The research aims to design a mobile learning environment based on cloud computing applications to enhance the designing and publishing e-content skills of the faculty members of Northern Borders University, Saudi Arabia. The researcher used the semi- experimental approach to measure the impact of the mobile learning environment on the cognitive and performance aspects of the faculties. Two research tools were used in the study: an electronic achievement test to measure the cognitive aspect and an observation sheet to measure the performance aspects of designing and publishing e- content skills of faculty members (N=53). A training programme on mobile learning environment based on cloud computing was conducted to enhance the faculty members’ e-content designing skills. There was a statistically significant difference between the average scores of the members in their pre-and post-study assessment of the cognitive and performance aspects of designing and publishing e-content skills. Following the training programme, the faculty’s achievement scores increased to 84% from 42% in the pre-test; their performance to apply the learned skills in various activities improved to 91% from 43%. Based on the results of the study, it can be recommended that the mobile learning environment based on cloud computing applications is quite helpful in developing the skills of using technology by the faculty members.

This article presents the study about the impact and utilization of electronic information resources among the faculty members of Engineering Colleges in Erode District, Tamil Nadu. Survey method questionnaire tool were used together the data for this study. Out of 670 questionnaires were distributed, 452(67.5%) faculty members are responded. E-resources support teaching, learning and research activities of the present user community especially the faculty members. Generally the availability of e-resources is good for Engineering Colleges. Majority of the respondents use the e-resources for educational and research purpose. In this study we found from the analysis that most of the users are not get more training programs and enough facility for the use of e-resources.

Spiritual intelligence (SI) can be defined as the ability to behave with compassion and wisdom while maintaining inner and outer peace regardless of the circumstances. Mental health (MH), in simple words, includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. In this paper, the investigator has tried to find the impact of SI on pre-service teachers’ MH. The survey method and correlation design of research were used in the study. A simple random sampling method was used to collect the data from 100 pre-service teachers of Delhi/NCR. An integrated SI scale was used to find out the SI level of the pre-service teachers. A self-made questionnaire and focused group discussion were used to determine the respondents’ MH in the study. The Pearson correlation coefficient was used to determine the relationship between pre-service teachers’ SI and MH. The results showed a high level of a positive correlation between SI and MH. The respondents also mentioned stress, anxiety, and fear related to family and work-related issues.
