This article presents a proposal for a guide to best practices to support Information Technology [IT] areas in the planning and implementation of the transition of their infrastructure and technology services to IPv6 protocol. For this purpose an analysis of references was done to identify the problem, comprehend the state of the art; the current state of advance in the migration to IPv6 and its implementation worldwide; the state of the art of technology in the regions where it is a key factor and the process that these regions have developed to explore and implement the transition from IPv4 to IPv6, and as an analysis of the manner in which their governments assumed this transition; the identification of how the processes of the model of best practices for IT, ITIL v.3 can support the transition; and the existing mechanisms of technological transition from IPv4 to IPv6 according to two scenarios: with and without IPv4 and IPv6 coexisting.

This chapter presents the state of the art in research on the practice of information technology (IT) governance. The authors have chosen to present this state of the art by means of a frame of reference inspired by the four “worlds” framework that was initially introduced to characterize IT engineering problems. This framework, complemented by facets, provides a structure for characterizing governance approaches that facilitate their comparison. Each facet corresponds to an essential characteristic of IS governance. A facet is associated with a set of values that allow a finer comparison of approaches with each other. This chapter will provide a comprehensive understanding of the current state of IT governance standards and best practices.

The history of lexicography in Iran dates back to more than 2,000 years ago, to the time of the compilation of bilingual and monolingual lexicons for the Middle Persian language. After a review of the long and rich tradition of Persian lexicography, the chapter gives an account of the state of the art in the modern era by describing recent advances and developments in this field. During the last three or four decades, in line with the advancements in western countries, Iranian lexicography evolved from its traditional state into a modern professional and academic activity trying to improve the form and content of dictionaries by implementing the following factors: the latest achievements in theoretical and applied linguistics related to lexicography; and the computer techniques and information technology and corpus-based approach to lexicography.

Environmental DNA (eDNA) and other molecular based approaches are revolutionizing the field of biomonitoring. These approaches undergo rapid modifications, and it is crucial to develop the best practices by sharing the newest information and knowledge. Scientific background Well-functioning and intact natural ecosystems are essential for human well-being, provide a variety of ecosystem services and contain a high diversity of organisms. However, human activities such as eutrophication, pollution, land-use or invasive species, are threatening the state and functioning of ecosystems from local to global scale (e.g. Benateau et al. 2019; Reid et al. 2018; Vörösmarty et al. 2010). New molecular techniques in the field and in the laboratory have enabled sampling and identification of much of terrestrial, marine and freshwater biodiversity. These include environmental DNA (eDNA, e.g. Valentini et al. 2016) and bulk-sample DNA metabarcoding approaches (e.g. Elbrecht et al. 2017) and targeted RNA-based methods (e.g. Mäki and Tiirola 2018). The eDNA technique uses DNA that is released from organisms into their environment, from which a signal of organisms’ presence in the system can be obtained. For example, in aquatic ecosystems, eDNA is typically extracted from sediment or filtered water samples (e.g. Deiner et al. 2016), and this approach is distinguished from bulk DNA metabarcoding, where organisms are directly identified from e.g. complete biological monitoring samples (e.g. Elbrecht et al. 2017). Despite the demonstrated potential of environmental and bulk-sample DNA metabarcoding approaches in recent years, there are still significant bottlenecks to their routine use that need to be addressed (e.g. Pawlowski et al. 2020). Methods and implementati on The project is divided into three work packages: WP1 Gathering existing knowledge, identifying knowledge gaps and proposing best practices, WP2 Roadmap to implementation and WP3 eDNA monitoring pilot. Abstract This paper analyses the state of the art for nanotechnology in Barcelona, focussing on the scientific and economic challenges arising from nanotechnologies and the creative and innovative framework in Barcelona that could be used to meet them. Nanotechnology is an endless source of innovation and creativity at the intersection of medicine, biotechnology, engineering, physical sciences and information technology, and it is opening up new directions in R + D, knowledge management and technology transfer. Given the huge economic investment and cutting-edge research in the field of nanotechnology, a creatively managed and cooperation-based university industry is more in demand than ever before.

The meat industry needs a skilled workforce to meet the challenges of the 1990's. The need is particularly acute in computing and information technology (IT) because people with the necessary skills are becoming notoriously difficult to find, even for the most technologically advanced and high-salaried industries. The expected fall by 20% in the number of young people in the national labour force between now and 1995 will exacerbate these difficulties, as will the poor perception that potential employees have of the meat industry.

Developments in the information technology make pos sible the use of computer searching of normal text, to locate the articles of interest to match a professional pro file. These profiles are computer equivalents of an indi vidual's description of his work assignment, and are stored in the computer to be compared with new or current data being processed in normal text by the computer. The data is the author's/publisher's abstract of the article in the orig inal form. The computer reads the data and compares it with over 2500 profiles. When a match occurs, the abstract is selectively printed out and sent to the individual. This is an operational system used in the IBM Technical Informa tion Retrieval Center to keep IBMers aware of the state-of- the-art in their specialty. Feedback statistics are included to indicate the high response and satisfaction criteria of the users.
