The goal of this study is to develop a GeoGebra-assisted worksheet to enhance students' understanding of calculus. Many studies report that students have difficulty understanding calculus. GeoGebra provides an alternative method to overcome the difficulties associated with calculus. The Plomp development model consists of three phases: specifically, preliminary analysis, prototype development and an assessment was used in this study. The subjects of this study were 37 students. The results of this study are valid in terms of content, presentation, linguistics and graphics and practical in terms of implementation, time, ease of use and effective in terms of its potential impact on students' mathematical understanding. The GeoGebra-assisted worksheet can help students rediscover the given concept, while the use of visualization of the calculus concept can significantly enhance students’ mathematical understanding. Likewise, GeoGebra-assisted worksheets can be used to enhance students’ understanding of calculus. Teachers are suggested using GeoGebra in order to build students’ understanding on calculus subject.

A 2-RPU&2-SPS spatial parallel mechanism (SPM) is researched. Firstly, the number and property of degrees of freedom (DOF) of the SPM are analyzed by screw theory. There are two rotational and two translational movements (2R2T) of the mechanism that can be achieved. Secondly, the position analyses are researched. For the inverse position analysis, the explicit expression can be obtained from the independent motion parameters of the given mechanism, and the forward position problem is solved by calculating a set of nonlinear equation systems. Then we obtained the workspace of the mechanism based on the analytic formulae of the inverse displacement. Finally, by establishing the Jacobian matrix of the mechanism, the singularity of the mechanism is obtained, and the kinematics transmission performance of the mechanism is studied by using the index of the output efficiency of the limb output of the mechanism. This work will provide the theoretical basis for prototype development and application of the mechanism.

Number Theory, a branch of Pure Mathematics, is crucial in cryptographic algorithms. Many cryptographic systems depend heavily on some topics of Number Theory. One of these topics is the linear congruence. In cryptography, the concept of linear congruence is used to directly underpin public key cryptosystems during the process of ciphering and deciphering codes. Thus, linear congruence plays a very important role in cryptography. This paper aims to develop an alternative method and generalized solutions for solving linear congruence ax ≡ b (mod n). This study utilized expository-developmental research method. As a result, the alternative method considered two cases: (1) when (a,n) = 1 and  (2) when (a,n) > 1. The basic idea of the method is to convert the given congruence ax ≡ b (mod n) to ax = b + kn for some k, reduce modulus n by interchanging a and n, simplify the new congruence and perform the process recursively until obtaining a congruence that is trivial to solve. The advantage of this method over the existing approaches is that it can solve congruence even for large modulus n with much more efficiency. Generalized solution of linear congruence ax ≡ b (mod n) considering both cases was obtained in this study.

Purpose Material extrusion (MEX) is a class of additive manufacturing (AM) process based on MEX principle. In the viewpoint of Industry 4.0 and sustainable manufacturing, AM technologies are gaining importance than conventional manufacturing route (subtractive manufacturing). Because of the ease of use and lesser operation skills, MEX had wide popularity in industry for product and prototype development. This study aims to analyze energy consumption of MEX-based AM process and its influencing factors. Design/methodology/approach A group of factors were identified pertaining to MEX-based AM process. In this viewpoint, this study presents the configuration of a structural model using interpretive structural modeling (ISM) to depict dominant factors in MEX-based AM process. A total of 18 influencing factors are identified and ranked using ISM methodology for MEX process. The Impact Matrix Cross-reference Multiplication Applied to a Classification analysis was done to categorize influencing factors into four groups for MEX-based AM process. Findings The derivation of structural model would enable AM practitioners to systematically analyze the factors and to derive key factors which enable comprehensive energy modeling and energy assessment studies. Also, it facilitates the development of energy efficient AM system. Originality/value The development of structural model for analysis of factors influencing energy consumption of MEX-based AM is the original contribution of the authors.

Applications of percents are often taught by solving proportions that require variables and some familiarity with algebra. Such formal approaches to teaching percent have not been successful for many junior high and high school students (Wiebe 1986). This article present an alternative method that focuses on the basic concept of percent, that of “parts per hundred.” A 10 × 10 grid, which is a common model for visualizing percents, is extended in the following examples to solve various types of percent problems. This model offers a means of representing the given information as well as suggesting different approaches for finding a solution.

After analyzing the functional requirements, a development model of the pager component based on characteristics of Facelets composite component is proposed. In the model, an auxiliary object and a managed bean are introduced to support the rendering of the pager component and the data table component respectively. Inheritance relationships between the managed bean and the auxiliary object reflect inner relationships between the pager component and the data table component, which can improve independence of the pager component and reduce the difficulty to develop. Finally, the implementation technology and the usage of the pager component are presented. Its effectiveness, applicability and ease of use are demonstrated by practical applications.

AbstractSixteen borate glass compositions comprising K2O and SrO were screened, using a design of mixtures approach, to model compositional effects on dissolution, CT imageability, and MRI relaxivity (R2). Based on the characteristics of each network, together with dose determination and toxicological risk, the composition identified as BKSA16 was selected as a preferred composition for pre-clinical evaluations related to geniculate artery embolization (GAE). Accordingly, BKSA16 particles were subjected to a flame spheroidization process and recharacterized, including the evaluation of residual mass at 72 h in physiologically representative media along with clinical determinations of suspension time (ease of use). For both the irregular particles and microspheres residual mass was present at 72 h in physiologically representative media. Additionally, both the microspheres and irregular particles achieved suspension times deemed to be acceptable for clinical use. The collective data confirms that BKSA16 microspheres have a range of beneficial features (specifically both degradable and imageable) suited to GAE.
