This paper presents the design and implementation of control strategy for both the speed and direction of a direct current (DC) motor using Android-based application in smart phone. The Raspberry Pi 3 with a motor driver controller has been used to implement the control action via Python-based user-defined programming. The Android application has been developed using Android Developer Tools (ADT) in Java platform. The Android apps work like a client and communicates with Raspberry Pi through wi-fi connectivity. Finally, a small graphical user interface (GUI) has been created in Python in order to interface and control the motor with buttons in GUI. The advantages of GUI are that it is attractive, user friendly, and even a layman can work with the application developed in GUI.

In the past few years, all over the world, crime against children has been on the rise, and parents always worry about their children whenever they are outside. For this reason, tracking and monitoring children have become a considerable necessity. This paper presents an outdoor IoT tracking system which consists of a child module and a parent module. The child module monitors the child location in real time and sends the information to a database in the cloud which forwards it to the parent module (represented as a mobile application). This information is shown in the application as a location on Google maps.  The mobile application is designed for this purpose in addition to a number of extra functions. A Raspberry Pi Zero Wireless is used with a GSM/GPS module on shield to provide mobile communication, internet and to determine location. Implementation results for the suggested system are provided which shows that when the child leaves a pre-set safe area, a warring message pops up on the parent’s mobile and a path from the current parent location to the child location is shown on a map.

One of the most difficult tasks faced by the visually impaired students is identification of people. The rise in the field of image processing and the development of algorithms such as the face detection algorithm, face recognition algorithm gives motivation to develop devices that can assist the visually impaired. In this research, we represent the design and implementation of a facial recognition system for the visually impaired by using image processing. The device developed consists of a programmed raspberry pi hardware. The data is fed into the device in the form of images. The images are preprocessed and then the input image captured is processed inside the raspberry pi module using KNN algorithm, The face is recognized and the name is fed into text to speech conversion module. The visually impaired student will easily recognize the person before him using the device. Experiment results show high face detection accuracy and promising face recognition accuracy in suitable conditions. The device is built in such a way to improve cognition, interaction and communication of visually impaired students in schools and colleges. This system eliminates the need of a bulk computer since it employs a handy device with high processing power and reduced costs.

Covid pandemic is spreading since end 2019 arround globe, this resulting several countries suffer economic crisis. Due people movement restriction and international border is closed, impact halting on export and import. Indonesia with 267,7 million people manage to overcome global crisis during 1998 and 2008 with encourage small and local industry. According data from BPS, SME support 60% GDP with Rp 7,7 Billion and provide 85 million employment. To sustain SME during customer shifting behavior, we propose small cluster server called as LETS. LETS is modular, and composed with several Raspberry Pi 4, also consume few energies compared with traditional server. Although Raspberry Pi 4 is small size with few limitations, with lightweight application (ansible, k3s, and nginx) it can provide web server service. LETS provide handling traffic up to 742 simultaneus requests, which sufficient of SME requirement.

In recent years Quadcopter has been used in many applications such as military, security & surveillance, service delivery, disaster rescue and much more due to its flexibility of flying. In this paper, Quadcopter will be used for mail delivery between many locations that is received from the end user. The Quadcopter will execute an autonomous flight using the concept of companion PC. Raspberry PI 3 (RPI3) will control the Quadcopter by command the controller of the drone (Pixhawk) by using DroneKit-Python API to send MAVLink messages to the Ardupilot. This concept is useful to perform an additional task to the autopilot and provide such a smart capability like image processing and path planning which cannot be done by the flight controller alone. Basically, the idea has been stimulated and the code has been tested by using the SITL Simulator with MAVProxy under Ubuntu environment. The result of controlling the Quadcopter using Python script was excellent and give a motivation to implement the same script on a real Quadcopter. The implementation on real Quadcopter was perfect as it has given the same behavior as the SITL drone in the simulation.
