On YouTube, billions of videos are watched online and millions of short messages are posted each day. YouTube along with other social networking sites are used by individuals and extremist groups for spreading hatred among users. In this paper, we consider religion as the most targeted domain for spreading hate speech among people of different religions. We present a methodology for the detection of religion-based hate videos on YouTube. Messages posted on YouTube videos generally express the opinions of users’ related to that video. We provide a novel dataset for religious hate speech detection on Youtube comments. The proposed methodology applies data mining techniques on extracted comments from religious videos in order to filter religion-oriented messages and detect those videos which are used for spreading hate. The supervised learning algorithms: Support Vector Machine (SVM), Logistic Regression (LR), and k-Nearest Neighbor (k-NN) are used for baseline results.

Social networking has become one of the most popular communication tools to have evolved over the past decade, making it a powerful new information sharing resource in society. To date realising the potential of Social Networking Sites (SNSs) beyond their leisure uses has been severely restricted in a number of areas. This paper focuses on the application of SNSs in a learning environment and the impact this could have on academic practices. While undoubtedly, due to the very casual nature of social networking, there are serious concerns over how it could be integrated in a learning environment; the potential positive outcomes are many and varied. As a communication tool, its effectiveness is already manifesting in the millions who use these networks to communicate on a daily basis. So it is conceivable that educators should be able to create a learnscape - an environment for formal and informal learning - that adheres to educational guidelines, but also harnesses the social support system of these on-line communities. This paper examines the risks involved in the creation of this new learning ecology, and explores the challenges faced by both technology experts and teachers in delivering a truly innovative and effective new approach to education.

The rise of social networking sites (SNSs) is currently overwhelming. Individuals are now able to interact, connect, and share information, photos, and other media in various SNSs. Facebook is one of the largest and most populated SNS in the world that is accessible by anyone including university students. Hence, it is interesting to understand the habits of use of such application by students, how they interact on these sites, and the nature of their influence on the deployment of Facebook into formal learning and as course communication tool. Findings from this research revealed that majority of the respondents use Facebook approximately 30 minutes to 2 hours daily. They also use Facebook not only to share entertainment materials but also communicating with their classmates on course related topics. Similar to the findings from another study, the students communicated on Facebook using a one-to-many style however in a more passive manner as most of the instances, they are not the creator of the content but only as viewer. This study could be extended to study more in-depth habits of SNS use by postgraduate students.

Humans' growing desire to continuously interact with each other through the internet has both negative and positive consequences, especially if users tend to use it maliciously. The advent of social networking sites has broken the traditional barriers to communication. It is a cost-effective way of communicating using text-messages, video-messages, and voice-notes as it happens from a source (sender) to the audience (receivers). Anyone can participate if they have a mobile phone with internet facilities, and now, everyone is an online journalist and a reporter. Unfortunately, although social media platforms have numerous merits, these platforms still face critical challenges, especially in controlling and policing content post by users. The revolution in information technology and social networking platforms have provided a NEW NORMAL for online fraudsters and criminals. Fake news, hate speech, and political propaganda/rhetoric has created a confusing world, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic situation. Therefore, our paper presented some of the challenges and solutions to cybercrime.
