When playing an instrument, the performance effect is closely related to the actual psychological state of the performer. The performer not only needs to have better professional skills, but also needs to have strong psychological quality, so that the performer can achieve the best state when performing an instrument. Therefore, in the process of oboe teaching, teachers need to pay attention to the use of performance psychology, improve the psychological quality of students’ performance, maintain a good state, and fully integrate performance skills and personal emotions.

AbstractPain is common but often underrecognized after stroke. Poststroke pain (PSP) hinders recovery, impairs quality of life, and is associated with the psychological state of patients with stroke. The most common subtypes of PSP include central PSP, complex regional pain syndrome, shoulder pain, spasticity-related pain, and headache. The pathophysiologies of these PSP subtypes are not yet clearly understood, and PSP is refractory to conventional treatment in many patients. However, recent studies have proposed potential pathophysiologies of PSP subtypes, which may help prioritize therapies that target specific mechanisms.

Background. Being diagnosed with cancer is a dramatically stressful condition for a human. Radiation therapy (RT), which is an essential of combination antineoplastic treatment, can cause physical and emotional state changes. Realizing these changes is an additional stress factor that results in impaired life quality of a cancer patient as well refusal to undergo further treatment. At present, there is no distinct system of providing psychological aid for cancer patients in Ukraine. Purpose. To carry out analysis and generalization of research literature data in terms of providing psychological aid for cancer patients at RT stage and to present own findings of psychological study enrolling 55 female patients diagnosed with endometrial cancer at RT stage at SO «Grigoriev Institute for Medical Radiology and Oncology» within the period from 2015 to 2018. Materials and methods. The literature review involved available contributions obtained via literature search in domestic (Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine) and foreign databases (Scopus, Web of Science Core Collection, PubMed, BMC, ScienceDirect, Wiley Online Library, RNB). Fifty-five patients with endometrial cancer of stage I–II (T1b-c N0 M0 – T2a -b N0 M0) underwent clinical and laboratory examination. The diagnosis of adenocarcinoma was confirmed by means of a histologic study. All patients underwent panhysterectomy and postsurgery course of distant gamma-therapy on “РОКУС-АМ” device by split fractionation. Fifteen patients were provided with psychological correction at RT stage. In order to assess life quality, SF-36 (Health Status Survey) was used. An assessment of the severity of psychosomatic disorders in patients with endometrial cancer was made by means of EORTC QLQ-C30 survey. Results. The paper analyzes psychological aid provided to oncology patients at radiation therapy stage in Ukraine and overseas. A Commission of Inquiry on Canadian University Education recently reported that approximately 42% of full-time undergraduate students who entered Canadian universities in 1985 failed to obtain a degree within five years. While this statistic is startling, perhaps, of greater concern is the apparent lack of interest shown by most Canadian universities in the subject of undergraduate student attrition. As an initial step toward addressing the issue of Canadian university attrition, a conceptual model of undergraduate student withdrawal is proposed. The model is based on the assumption that students are characterized by a wide range of personal and academic variables. Such characteristics interact or co-exist with institutional variables such as campus integration. This interaction results in the quality of student academic performance and the nature of student psychological condition. Poor quality of student academic performance results in institution-initiated undergraduate withdrawal; a variety of psychological variables (e.g., satisfaction, stress) result in student-initiated undergraduate withdrawal. The bases of this model were findings obtained from questioning 498 undergraduate students who had withdrawn from a large Western Canadian university. Personal student characteristics, institutional factors and societal variables frequently emerged as students' attributions of university withdrawal. Student academic performance was validated as the causal factor for institutional-based undergraduate withdrawal and student psychological state appeared critically related to student-based undergraduate withdrawal. From these findings, preadmission counseling, academic and personal student support and an increased commitment to accommodating students are recommended.

The aim: About 10% of socially active women of reproductive age suffer from endometriosis, is determined by the frequent occurrence of menstrual and reproductive functions disorders, and pelvic pain syndrome in patients. The difficulties of therapeutic treatment of chronic pain syndrome in external genital endometriosis (EGE) are associated with polymorphism of pain mechanisms, and delayed diagnosis and treatment. The aim of the study is to improve the effectiveness of the treatment of external genital endometriosis. Material and methods: We examined 60 female patients of reproductive age, 40 – with histologically verified diagnosis of external genital endometriosis and 20 healthy women. We used the following methods of examination: general clinical, instrumental, endoscopic, morphological, the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) to quantify pain, the Beck Depression Scale and the SF-36 questionnaire. Results: Before the treatment of patients with EGE, VAS scale scores indicated pain in 100% of patients, the indicators of depression and level of anxiety go beyond the normative. The results of the pre-treatment questionnaire indicated lower quality of life scores on the scales of physical and mental health components. As a result of treatment there was significant decrease in the manifestations of pain, depression and anxiety, with women receiving complex therapy (hormone therapy got antidepressants and non-drug correction methods). Сonclusions: Chronic pelvic pain syndrome associated with EGE and accompanied by an unfavorable psychological state, depressive states, anxiety symptoms, and psychosomatic disorders. New approaches to the treatment of clinical manifestations of EGE are needed, taking into account patients’ psycho-emotional status and the life quality analysis. We pathogenetically justified the use of drugs that affect the psychosomatic status of patients with EGE and showed that they could significantly improve the quality of life.

The article identifies the current state and the main rural problems that cover many levels due to the complexity and systematization. The way to solve rural problems is connected not only with the rights and interests of farmers, but also with the coordinated progress and development of the whole economy and society. Thanks to the widespread development of high-quality vocational education in rural areas, this can not only increase cultural literacy, skills and incomes of farmers, but also contribute to overall social and economic growth. Vocational education can help farmers improve their professional skills and find effective ways to solve existing problems by improving their own skills and quality. The main problems of sustainable development in rural vocational education at the policy level, management problems in vocational schools at the operational level, farmers' ideology does not meet the needs of modern social and economic development, low overall quality of rural population, unreasonable human resources structure and serious outflow population in rural areas. Reasoned solutions and countermeasures are proposed by studying the main problems of rural vocational education development, namely: to solve the problem of sustainable development of rural vocational education, the government must carefully plan the structure of rural vocational education, increase capital investment, actively implement funding for one student, guarantee the well-being of teachers, seek to narrow the gap between urban and rural education and reflect the fairness of education; organize smart teaching methods to improve the learning effect, strengthen the teaching staff, through "dual qualifications", i.e. have the knowledge and technology; to solve the ideological problems of students and parents is the use of the media for the ideological promotion of "precious skills and glorious work" throughout society. Effectively and qualitatively improve the economic development of rural areas is possible through the modernization of rural areas and the interest of farmers in scientific knowledge and technical skills, increase professional skills to improve the quality of production and labor efficiency.

Chondrosarcoma of the larynx is a rare tumor of the upper respiratory tract that originates from cartilaginous tissue. The cricoid cartilage is the most frequent site of onset at the larynx. The diagnosis is not always easy, given the tumor's slow growth rate, the aspecificity of the symptoms, and the low degree of malignancy with which most cases present and which often causes it to be mistaken for a chondroma. A case is presented of a 61-year-old woman with a chondrosarcoma of the larynx, grade 2, originating from the cricoid cartilage and measuring about 3 cm in diameter. The patient underwent extirpation of the tumor together with the cricoid cartilage, with a successive thyrotracheal anastomosis because she refused a total laryngectomy, which would have been the indicated intervention on the basis of the extent and grade of the neoplasm. At 6 years from surgery, the patient is in a good state of health with good laryngeal function and without recurrence of the disease. This fact confirms that the surgical approach to chondrosarcoma of the larynx can in most cases be conservative, reserving demolitive surgery for the more aggressive forms, for tumors of greater extent, and for recurrences. In fact, good laryngeal function and therefore a good quality of life can be maintained even for long periods of time.
