Psychosocial risks arising from work, like workload, have a negative impact on the quality of work life, especially in terms of the deterioration in working conditions and negative consequences for employees’ health. The style of leadership exercised is key in coping with perceived psychosocial risks. The purpose of this study was to analyse the influence of transformational leadership and workload on psychosomatic disorders, and the moderating role of transformational leadership in the relationship between workload and psychosomatic disorders. The sample consisted of 408 Spanish employees working with people with intellectual disabilities. Workload and Psychosomatic disorders were measured by the UNIPSICO subscales, Transformational leadership was measured by a subscale adapted from the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (Bass & Avolio, 1989). Carrying out moderation analysis in PROCESS 3.4 results showed that both Workload and Transformational leadership had a significant influence on Psychosomatic disorders. In addition, Transformational leadership moderated the relationship between Workload and Psychosomatic disorders. Transformational leadership buffers the impact of workload on employees’ health and therefore in the need to carry out training programs for managers in organizations in order to exercise a healthy management.

Burnout was recently declared by WHO as an “occupational phenomenon” in the International Classification of Diseases 11th revision (ICD-11), recognizing burnout as a serious health issue. Earlier studies have shown that feelings of guilt appear to be involved in the burnout process. However, the exact nature of the relationships among burnout, guilt and psychosomatic disorders remains unclear. The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediator role of feelings of guilt in the relationship between burnout and psychosomatic disorders, and perform a cross-cultural validation of the multi-dimensional model by Gil-Monte in two samples of teachers (Portuguese vs. Spanish). The study sample was composed of 1,266 teachers, 1,062 from Spain, and 204 from Portugal. Burnout was measured by the Spanish Burnout Inventory. Hypotheses were tested together in a path model. The results obtained provide empirical evidence for the mediator role of guilt in the relationship between the Burnout syndrome and psychosomatic disorders in the sample of teachers from Spain and Portugal, and they contribute to the empirical validation of the model by Gil-Monte. The results indicate that guilt should be incorporated as a symptom of burnout in order to identify individuals affected by burnout and profiles or types of burnout to differentiate it from other pathologies like depression.

History taking, clinical examinations play a major role in confirming the diagnosis and predicting the prognosis of the illness. This is applicable in psychiatric as well as psychosomatic disorders. Sometimes organic diseases may simulate the presentation of psychiatric disorders and vice versa. Many types of examination techniques are ex- plained in Ayurveda which help directly or indirectly to elicit and diagnose psychiatry disorders. Astavibhrama, impairment in eight domains of mental faculties - thinking process (Mano vibhrama), intellect (Buddhi vibhrama), consciousness and orientation (Sanjnajnana vibhrama), memory (smriti vibhrama), desire or interest (Bhakti vibhrama), temperaments (sheela vibhrama), behaviour (chesta vibhrama), conduct (achara vibhrama); a concept adopted for the diagnosis of unmada (insanity). These eight domains can be generalised for eliciting the mental status of an individual. Keywords: Astavibhrama, Mental status examination, Psychiatric disorder

Background. COVID-19 outbreak resulted in an increased psychological and physical pressure on healthcare professionals worldwide. Doctors treating COVID-19 patients have turned out to be at higher risk of depression, anxiety, psychosomatic disorders. The data about the influence of the pandemic on psychological health of Russian doctors is still missing. Aims to evaluate a psychological status of Russian doctors during COVID-19 pandemic. Methods. This cross-sectional online-study was conducted among 133 doctors of different specialties aged 2570 (mean age 43.6 9.9), 112 (84.2%) of the them were females. We assessed the work conditions of the respondents during pandemic, the presence of psychosomatic disorders, depression and anxiety levels by HADS scale. Results. Almost two thirds (82; 61.7%) of the respondents reported an increased workload during the pandemic, 54.1% of them work more than 40 hours per week. The income has risen only in 25.6% of the doctors. Most of the respondents announced a manifestation of one or more psychosomatic disorders during the pandemic. The most frequent complaint was insomnia found in 72 (54.1%) of the doctors. Clinical anxiety was confirmed in 30 (22.6%), clinical depression in 15 (11.3%), moderate anxiety in 22 (16.5%), moderate depression in 31 (23.3%), both clinical anxiety and depression in 6% of the participants. Conclusions. During the pandemic Russian doctors continue to work under physical and psychological pressure and provide medical care even if they have clinical depression and anxiety that influences on patients and doctors wellbeing. Theres still a lack of psychological assistance to doctors and of other methods to prevent professional burn-out.

AIM: The mission is to assess possible psychosomatic disorders (in particular, stress as a nervous breakdown, an acute temporal phase of a specific disorder, which is manifested primarily by signs of depression and neurosis) in young patients who have had COVID-19, in the course of rehabilitation, to improve medical and psychological support after their discharge from the hospital. MATERIALS AND METHODS: 60 convalescents who have had COVID-19 and had practically been healthy before (men aged 19.87 1.64 years) were examined. The main clinical variants and manifestations of COVID-19 in our study were inapparent infection (II) in 19 cases (31.67%), acute respiratory viral infection (ARVI) in 21 cases (35.0%), pneumonia without respiratory failure (P) in 20 cases (33.33%). These are clinical variants and manifestations of mild-to-moderate of COVID-19 severity. The diagnosis of all clinical variants and manifestations of COVID-19, the patients examination, treatment and discharge from the hospital were carried out in accordance with regulatory documents. The patients were examined 68 month after discharge from the hospital. Psychometric examination of these individuals to separate their clinical manifestations of distress and somatization and manifestations of depression and anxiety was carried out according to the questionnaire The Four-Dimensional Symptom Questionnaire, 4DSQ), developed in 1996 by the Dutch specialists B. Terluin. This questionnaire was translation into Russian and adapted by A.B. Smulevich et al. [2014]. Voluntary informed consent was obtained from each of the patients before their participating the study. RESULTS: Indicators of distress, anxiety, somatization after all the clinical variants and manifestations of COVID-19 have a moderately increased level, which indicates a serious illness that has been suffered, in some cases with an unfavorable outcome. The strongly increased level of depression in our study is probably due to the presence of astheno-neurotic syndrome due to the previous COVID-19 disease. The data on the correlation between the scales of methods indicate the direction of possible psychoprophylactic work with convalescents. CONCLUSIONS: The results of the study showed that young patients without concomitant diseases who have had COVID-19, even with a mild and low-symptom course, may develop psychosomatic consequences such as distress, anxiety, somatization and some others. The reasons, duration, potential risk factors for their development require further study, however, timely developed preventive and therapeutic and diagnostic measures, taking into account the individual characteristics of the patient, can have a positive effect.

The review article examines the medical, psychological and social problems that older people face due to the pandemic. The article contains the analysis of the mortality rate in the older age group in different countries. It also demonstrates the negative impact of the pandemic stress on the formation of psychopathological disorders (anxiety, asthenia, panic, cognitive dysfunction). The authors carried out an analysis of psychological support methods for various psychopathological disorders among the elderly, based on both the results of their own clinical experience in the treatment and psychological correction of the disorders of older people experiencing the pandemic, and similar results of other researches in other countries. The results of the presented research during the pandemic suggest that the frequency of asthenia and psychosomatic disorders in patients was increased. The paper presents algorithms for the differential diagnosis and treatment of asthenia as part of the post-covid syndrome. The article contains an objective scientific and practical assessment of the experience of self-isolation for the elderly, as well as the analysis of the reasons for mental maladjustment and the formation of addictions. The algorithm and the results of psychological support, provided to older people by a psychosocial support organization, are demonstrated.

Purpose: The emergence of SARS CoV-2, has imposed high pressure on the healthcare system worldwide. As a consequence, frontline healthcare workers were impacted widely. The aim of this systematic review is to examine the impact of COVID-19 on mental status of FHW during pandemic. Methods: Databases such as PubMed, Scopus, google scholar were searched extensively from the date of inception till April 2021. All cross-sectional studies published in English assessing the mental condition and well-being of frontline caregivers during COVID-19 were included in the study. The quality assessment was done by Newcastle Ottawa scale. Results: Ten thousand eight hundred sixty-nine articles were found. After conscientious literature search, total 78 articles were included satisfying the objective of the review. The highest and lowest values for the rates of depression, anxiety and insomnia was found to be 99.51% & 6.07%, 85.7% & 73.6%, and 5.3% & 11.4%, respectively. Conclusion: It has been found that FHW were psychologically impacted by the pandemic. This could be due to lack of resources such as PPE, organizational support, inefficient relevant knowledge regarding the novel virus, its extremely indelible transmission rates, fear of contamination, stigmatization, and/or due to prevalence of ignorance by government and health policy makers.
