A discussion on modern shoes is limited on account of the scarcity of sources provided by archaeological research. This gap is to a certain extent filled by museum collections and iconography. This is why it is so important to publish new finds as one can only initiate discussion on isolated artefacts of open-back shoes based on such publications. Such a pair was found in the southern crypt of the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Piaseczno. These are unique objects as it is possible to identify all their elements and to determine the quality of leather, which was rather thick. Their general state of preservation is good. The condition of the leather on the soles, heels, and uppers indicates that the shoes were intensively used when their owner was alive. There is no difference in cut between the left and the right shoe, however, deformations resulting from wearing allow to say which shoe was worn on which foot. The pair of shoes found in Piaseczno and described above represents a valuable contribution to the discussion on open-back shoes. When interpreting such finds, the basic difficulty is the determination of their function. In specific circumstances, functions of overshoes and home shoes could to a certain extent overlap. However, it seems that in the modern era separate pairs of shoes were made to serve these different purposes. Unfortunately, the only evidence that would allow to lean towards one of the options involves the categories of massiveness and size of the shoes, and the diversity of the materials used. The paper uses a number of names for open-back shoes (pattens, mules, chopines, slippers, pantables) to reflect the linguistic richness. There is no doubt that different designs used to have individual names, however, the scarcity of accounts makes it very difficult to reconstruct the linguistic reality of old.

High quality of the soldering process can be achieved with the right choice of the necessary soldering materials. Since wetting determines the further nature of the connection between the solder and the main soldering material, the contact angle  measurement  is the basis for quality control of soldering materials, provided that the basic requirements of the technological process. The determination of the contact angle value is carried out by the indirect method of the sessile drop, by measuring the basic parameters of the drop using infrared transducer. A smaller value of the contact angle corresponds to a better interaction of materials, and hence a better electrical contact

According to the literature, distresses mechanisms such as fatigue cracking and moisture induced damage are correlated to the nature and quality of adhesion between these two materials. Different mechanisms already exist to explain adhesion, but they can be summa- rized in three main groups: mechanical interlocking, physical adhesion and chemical interaction. Although discussions of isolated theo- ries and mechanisms help to clarify the understanding of adhesion, they can rarely be separated completely to each other. The physical and chemical characteristics of asphalt and aggregate will in fact determine the relevance of each of these mechanisms. This study presents the results of two procedures for adhesion measurement: (i) an indirect method based on the surface free energy components of asphalt binder and aggregate; and (ii) the determination of the enthalpy of immersion through the use of a microcalorimeter. The materials used, a gravel as aggregate and three different neat asphalts, were provided by the Strategic Highway Research Program's Material Reference Library. The results showed the capacity of the microcalorimeter in detecting possible chemical reactions together with physical adhesion. The presence of functional groups more strongly adsorbed by the aggregate surface justified the higher values of the heat of immersion. </em></p>

The heat and water vapour transmitting properties of fibrous materials are important factors that affect the clothing's comfort as well as the quality of special functional clothing that is worn in extreme environmental conditions. The paper introduces advanced system for the simulation of physiological processes that appear next to the human skin. Its use enables the measurement of heat and vapour transfer trough fibrous structures, as well as determination of vapour permeability and permeability index. The experiments reported here refer to the measurement of a number of fibrous materials used for the next-to-skin wear. For the measurement have been produced materials that differ either in their structure or raw material in order to observe the influences of different parameters to the transfer properties. The transfer trough fibrous materials is mainly affected by its structure that comprises of a repeat units with cellular geometry containing air pores, yarns that form basic structure and intersection points of two or more yarns. Therefore, the structure of materials is also investigated and described by means of fabric moduli. Dynamics of heat and vapour transfer is observed through the experimentally obtained data and the influence of a number of structural parameters is discussed. The statistical methods are used to qualify the effects of investigated variables on the heat and vapour resistance.

The purpose of this paper is to describe and understand how the thought of John Calvin who was a famous reformer figure from time to time. Calvin paid great attention to Christian education especially in the church. He arranged systematically the way, the content of the teaching, as well as the qualifications, self-image of the teachers both pastors and religious teachers who were all based on the Bible and to glorify God. The method used in this paper is a qualitative research method with a literature study study in which the researcher reviews, compares, formulates and analyzes Calvin's thoughts both in his life context, his thoughts through books, documents, journals and other relevant literature studies. From the findings it can be said that Calvin's educative theological thought is purely based on the Bible. For Calvin, the teaching of the Christian faith is determined by the Bible and interpretations that are right and right and can have a good influence on the church and society. Calvin is always thinking of the right way so that the quality of the faith of the congregation continues to develop well and can be implemented in a variety of social life. In the midst of challenges today the church is required not to be carried away by various kinds of ideas that do not emphasize the Bible as the basis of human life. As it was done, Calvin the priests, teachers of religion today are required with full responsibility to think deeply about ways to continue to nourish the true Christian faith based on the Scriptures so that the quality of their faith is well preserved and lives glorifying God.

Gayo coffee scattered in the mountains and being in two districts of the central highlands and Central Aceh district has become the center of world attention. Gayo Arabica coffee has a unique manifold and the added value created by the mountainous nature Gayo. This factor makes Gayo Arabica coffee has the added value that is not replaceable by other similar commodities. The success of the stakeholders Gayo coffee obtain certification which is organic, fairtrade, coffee practice and Geographic indication that can be a proof of the worldwide recognition of the quality and added value of this coffee. The average price of the last on the coffee harvest season in March 2012 ranged between Rp 100.000,- until Rp 110.000,- in each Kg grean bean on exporter level. Determination of clusters of farmers the right so that the quality and price of supplies could be predicted well by the cooperative as exporters are very important. These routes and ketelusuran origin coffee blend in one location with other location mebuat coffee quality decreases. Mapping the supply of unclear origin uniformity of the quality of the coffee making is difficult to determine. This effect on selling prices decreased overall coffee farmers to the detriment of farmers with good quality coffee. The good name of the cooperative from the viewpoint of importers deteriorate as evidenced by a decrease in the purchase price of the importer in the contract. The sampling process quality coffee supply also becomes difficult because unhomogenity supply region. Supply region is crucial to the quality of the coffee due influenced the position and height of the land. Thus, this research is expected to help formulate clusters of farmers so that the quality and price of coffee could be improved both in terms of farmers and exporters. The last hope of course the welfare of farmers and other stakeholders could be better. Keywords: Data Mining, Optimization, Gayo Arabica Coffee, Supply Chain

In the church dedicated to Holy Virgin Odigitria in the Patriarchate of Pec, the foundation of Archepiscope Danilo II, among several images of Virgin Mary the greatest attention of the researchers was attracted by Holy Virgin the Milkprofferer (Nurturer). Mother of God was painted on the southern wall of the narthex, sitting in the throne with the child Christ suckling in her lap. On the left and right side two angels are represented, showing their respect. To the right, three young women or girls approach, greeting her with their arms outstretched. The fresco was painted about 1330. Close links between the theological ideas expressed in the Akathist service (praise to Holy Virgin Odigitria) and the fresco of Holy Virgin the Milkprofferer are evident. Those ideas found their expression also in the fresco of Holy Virgin the Milkprofferer in the monastery Matejci near Kumanovo, painted a quarter of a century later.

Tycho Brahe, noted Danish astronomer and founder of modern astronomy died in Prague in 1691, at the age of 54, and was buried in the Church of the Virgin Mary before Týn. In 2010, at the request of Danish authorities, his remains were exhumed and an investigation into the cause of his death was undertaken, with an aim to addressing speculations of him having been poisoned. This report contains detailed information on the process of the exhumation and results of the subsequent investigation. An anthropological analysis confirmed the authenticity of the remains, that they are actually those of Tycho Brahe, and confirmed the results of an earlier exhumation, done in 1901. Physical chemistry analysis was unable to confirm a lethal or sub-lethal dose of heavy metal poison (Hg). A detailed paleopathological analysis of the skeleton confirmed that Brahe suffered from DISH (diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis), which attends Type II diabetes, high blood pressure and obesity (the metabolic syndrome). From period documents describing Tycho Brahe’s lifestyle and his last days, it seems likely that he died of complications resulting from these conditions, today described as diseases of affluence, also referred to as “Western disease”.

Abstract- A given space requires a specific design for it to function in the best possible way. Many aspects need to be taken into consideration, and the same principle applies to an auditorium. Its space requires proper handling of the right acoustics to optimize the activities to be held there, among others space employed for the purpose of staging theatrical performances and concerts. Ideally speaking, these activities must prioritize the use of natural (purely acoustic) sound without resorting to an electric amplifier. Therefore, an appropriate acoustic design of the space to be used is of the utmost necessity. Each of these spaces has its own criteria to optimize the activities that are held there. To examine the acoustic quality of a given space, there are several prerequisites that must be fulfilled, starting from the form and materials used, the sound’s volume level, sound distribution, reverberation time, acoustic flaws or shortcomings and noise reduction or sound control. Using the explorative method and post-performance evaluation, this research study investigates the capability of the Arts Building called Gedung Kesenian in Jakarta to accommodate two different activities, both from the angle of the specific activity and the prerequisites for the space used. Gedung Kesenian Jakarta has attempted to surmount the problem of echo/reverb that is different for the theatrical and musical performances. However, the too widely diverging values have prompted the need for adding portable elements that are passive in nature in order to maximize the sound reflection, evenness of sound distribution, reverb time as well as dealing with the problem of the echoing sound area, referred to as “shadow sound”.Keywords: acoustic suitability, acoustics of theater space, acoustics of concert space, reverberation time

The objective of this study was to apply a method for estimating the mixing extent of C4 sugar in juice (apple) based on the fingerprinting of carbon stable isotope (δ13C). The values of δ13C in sugar separated from fresh apples, pure apple juices as well as sugar produced from C4 plants (plants conduct C4 cycle photo-synthesis, in this case, it was sugar canes) were analysed on an isotope ratio mass spectrometer equipped with an elemental analyzer (EA IRMS). The results showed that the δ13C in sugar separated from fresh apples was in the range of -27.00 to -24.00‰ with an average of -25.47‰ (n=6) vs. VPDB standard (Vienna Pee Dee Belemnite). Meanwhile, the δ13C in sugar cane products ranged from -13.00 to -11.00‰, with an average of -12,47‰ vs. VPDB. Based on the isotope signature of carbon (δ13C) and the two end-members mixing model, the extent of mixing C4 sugar in apple juice available on the market could be estimated precisely. It was found one out of 9 apple juice samples available in the Hanoi markets to have a high content of C4 sugar mixed in the product, it was up to 96% instead of 5% as proclaimed on the label. The developed method seems to be of high accuracy so it was advisable to wider its application in the evaluation of the quality of juices available at the markets in Vietnam to ensure the right of the consumers.
