Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) Department of Southeast University (SEU) considers student opinion as an essential component for the continuous quality improvement process of the program offered by the department. Because, students are the most important stakeholder of the department. To get their opinion and feedback about the department, a survey form was designed identifying six broad categories of the factors that determine the student satisfaction level. In each category, there were several questions that were included in the survey form to know to rate their level of satisfaction on each factor. The main focusing areas were quality of learning environment, academic strengths, campus life, physical facilities, management and leadership as well as extra- and co-curricular activities of the department. Responses were taken on a five-point likert scale for each question. Sample size were chosen based on Krejcie and Morgan formula from the group of a 580 registered existing stduents of the EEE department of Southeast University. Afte collection of data using the survey tools, we analyzed the data to determine the satisfaction level of EEE students studying at Southeast University. The results and analysis of the data were sent to the to the university authority to decide how to improve the quality of education and other facilities of the department as well as of the university.

In November 2009, the project management program at the Graduate School of the University of Maryland University College (UMUC) was accredited by the Global Accreditation Center (GAC) of the Project Management Institute. The accreditation process has had a substantially positive impact on both program quality and contents coverage of our program. It has also resulted in a continuous quality improvement process, which is now in place and is expected to bring about improved outcomes for years to come.  This paper describes the accreditation process, requirements, and the strategy and approach adopted by the Graduate School of UMUC to respond to accreditation requirements.

Volunteers are using low-tech engineering to have a high impact in developing communities. Volunteer teams of civil and environmental engineering students from the University of Colorado at Boulder and their professor installed a water delivery system that used no electricity. Engineers Without Borders (EWB) pairs professionals with volunteer engineering students to design and build an infrastructure project that a developing community has identified as a pressing need to help provide training, and to improve the quality of life for people in developing communities. In Santisuk, Thailand, EWB-USA volunteers installed a multipart filtration system, a covered spring box and new leach fields to clean up the contaminated water supply. Making more progress on the organizational level is the current goal of EWB-USA. The non-profit enterprise is working on getting a baseline organization in place that’s funded, so it can adequately control the quality of its project.

This paper focuses on feedback received from a set of qualitative questions that were administered to undergraduate students in the College of Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan, as part of a larger mixed methods study. The larger study aims to identify what characteristics, if any, can predict or are related to student success; The “start-stop-continue” method was utilized to assess student perceptions about  their success in the college as a whole. The students were asked: Are there any specific things that you can think of that act/acted as barriers to your success in engineering (stop)? What could the college do/change to make first year more successful for engineering students (start)? Is there anything in your engineering degree so far that you feel is done well and helps students succeed (continue)? Students identified the quality of instruction early in their program as well as adjustment to college workloads and self-directed learning as the most significant barriers tostudent success.

With the rapid development of information and communication technologies (ICTs), having a website is inevitable for the organizations. Ministry of Saudi Arabia has adopted a policy to use ICT to universities to improve their university portals and services that they offer. Although having good ICT infrastructure in the Saudi Arabian universities, the usage of university portal still low. This paper aims to identify the current situation of student’s portal usage and its content issues that face student in Saudi Arabia universities, and how to solve these issues to produce good quality of portal content that can encourage the students to use the student portal. An online survey questionnaire was collected from 40 academic staff from various universities in Saudi Arabia, and reviewed a numbers of papers. The findings reveal that there is a lack of student’s portals contents, awareness of using ICT, and training and guidance. By enhancing quality of content that will increase the student satisfaction to use the portal, and that will help the university to produce good portal to their students.

It has been highlighted from the results of independent sample t-Test that the university facilities have a high impact on student satisfaction in Malaysia (mean=4.1788) and Pakistan (mean=3.7212). The research model is based on five hypotheses, and university facilities have a positive relationship with student expectation. While results of t-Test indicate that the students in Malaysia have high expectation on university facilities, compared to students in Pakistan. This research has evaluated the variables (university image, facilities, quality of academic staff, university location, student expectation and overall student satisfaction), In the era of artificial inteligence. Furthermore, the results also indicate that the impact of university location and university image have very less impact on student satisfacton.

Improving occupant's satisfaction represents an important target oriented both towards the increment of productivity and towards the reduction of operational costs related to health and safety of employees. These considerations are the bases of an interdisciplinary cross-country survey on the human-building interaction in office buildings. The proposed study presents findings from the survey conducted at the University of Calabria (Italy). In particular, both demographic characteristics of the sample and data regarding comfort, satisfaction, and productivity are processed and investigated. Descriptive statistical analysis is developed with the aim of highlighting the influence of indoor comfort conditions on the perceived productivity of employees. Particular attention is dedicated to the study of gender-related differences in internal environment perception. Indoor temperature, quality of indoor air, and acoustics are the most selected causes of dissatisfaction and low perceived productivity both for women and men. The responses regarding satisfaction level and perceived productivity are also combined by defining a quantitative indicator named Office Productivity and Satisfaction index (OPSi) that is the ratio between the perceived productivity and the satisfaction level of the considered comfort condition. Causes of discomfort are also analyzed and demonstrated gender-related differences in workplaces quality evaluation.

The article is based on the results of joint project between the University of Southern Denmark, Denmark, Southern Federal University, Russia and University of Østfold, Norway, “Cooperation active student learning, NCM-RU-2015/10060”, an international educational project aimed at intercultural skills development on the basis of a specific discipline “Innovation Management” at higher education level. Project training simulates real professional research situations in order to solve complex tasks. At the final stage of the project a student satisfaction survey was conducted in order to obtain some information about strengths and weaknesses of the present project. Our customized student feedback survey requires Danish, Norwegian and Russian students who have participated in the project to make an overall statement about their satisfaction with the participation in the project. Students’ satisfaction is a multidimensional process which is influenced by different factors, so survey respondents were asked to rate aspects of their educational, research and communication experience, from skill development and personal growth to quality of curriculum and instruction. Determining which features of the student experience in international teamwork are most closely related to satisfaction may provide information about actions that can be taken to maintain high level of project planning and implementation in the future.

Purpose – This paper aims to explore the influence of higher education institution (HEI) facilities on overall student satisfaction, and to identify the distinct facilities that most strongly influence student overall satisfaction with HEI facilities. Design/methodology/approach – A tailor-made questionnaire is developed to measure student perception about student life, including their perceptions about the facilities at the HEI they attend. Two econometric models are estimated using OLS regression analysis. Findings – The factor that most strongly influences student satisfaction with university facilities is the quality of its social areas, auditoriums and libraries. Conversely, it is determined that computer access on campus does not influence student satisfaction. Research limitations/implications – The sample includes data only from a single university. Moreover, only Norwegian students at the university participated in the survey. Practical implications – Based on our findings, the most effective strategy to improve student overall satisfaction with the facilities at an HEI is to improve the quality of social areas, auditoriums and libraries. Such a strategy will result in students who are more satisfied with the HEI they are attending and, thereby, increase the HEI’s chances of long-term success. Originality/value – To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study to identify the facilities that most strongly influence the overall satisfaction of students with the facilities at HEIs.
