According to the existing literature, the existing engineering ideological and political curriculum distance education system has the problems of long response time and few concurrent users, which cannot meet the development needs of the professional talents of electronic engineering. Therefore, the design and research of the long-distance education system of the ideological and political course of electronic engineering specialty dependent on big data is proposed. Based on the analysis of the demand of distance education system, the overall structure of the distance education system is designed. The design of the system business functions mainly includes login verification module design, instant communication module design, online classroom module design, video answer module design and video back-view module design, and design the server cluster load balancing strategy according to big data technology, so as to realize the operation of the remote education system of the ideological and political courses of electronic engineering. The design system is shorter than response time while compared with existing system. and the number of users is more. It is fully proved that the design system has better application performance.

This study explored the move-step structure of the Results and Discussion (R&D) section of electronic engineering research articles (EERAs) written by Chinese and Thai researchers. Two corpora, with each containing 12 R&D sections, were compiled for analysis with reference to the three frameworks of Kanoksilapatham (2005, 2015) and Maswana et al. (2015). In addition, variations in terms of move-step structure between the two corpora were examined. Findings firstly demonstrated a newly proposed framework of 3 moves and 12 steps. What’s more, all of the three moves were found obligatory, and the variations between the two corpora mainly existed in the steps under each move category. Findings of the present study could provide insights into EERA construction for novice writers. Moreover, generic variations that are acceptable within the discipline might expand RA genre knowledge for both EE researchers and genre practitioners.

This study aims to present an exploratory study about the accessibility and usability evaluation of digital library article pages. For this purpose, four widely known digital libraries (DLs), namely Science Direct, Institute of Electric and Electronic Engineering Xplore, Association for Computing Machinery, and SpringerLink, were examined. In the first stage, article web interfaces of these selected DLs were analyzed based on standard web guidelines using automatic evaluation tools to assess their accessibility. In the second stage, to evaluate the usability of these web interfaces, eye-tracking experiments with 30 participants were conducted. Obtained results of the analysis show that article pages of digital libraries are not of free of accessibility and usability problems. Overall, this study highlights accessibility and usability problems of digital library article interfaces, and these findings can provide the feedback to web developers in making their article pages more accessible and usable for their users.

English is one of the primary subject that was taught in Electronic Engineering, Politeknik Negeri Bali, which includes speaking, writing and listening. Other than speaking, writing also become one of the most challenging subject in Electronic Engineering. To overcome the low writing skills of students and create pleasant learning atmosphere during the Covid 19 Pandemic, the authors want to try out learning method, namely Cooperative Learning Method with online media in the form of whatsapp. This research is a quantitative research with quasi experimental approach. The groups used in this study consist of two groups namely the experimental group using Whatsapp Cooperative Learning methods and the control grouos using the conventional method. The data collection technique in this study was in the form of a questionnaire and given to the students in both classes. From the data, it can be concluded that learning with the Whatsapp Cooperative Learning method is more effective to be used in teaching writing. It can be seen from the value of 2 of -2, 087 with Sig 0,037< 0,05 means that there is significant difference between the control class and the experimental class. This significant difference can be said as the result of the use of Whatsapp Cooperative Learning in class.

All papers published in this volume of Journal of Physics: Conference Series have been peer reviewed through processes administered by the Editors. Reviews were conducted by expert referees to the professional and scientific standards expected of a proceedings journal published by IOP Publishing. • Type of peer review: All the articles of 15th EURECA Conference 2021 followed the single-blind peer review process. The reviewers were aware of the authors’ identity but not vice versa. • Conference submission management system: Communications between author and the conference committee was done through Easychair (https://easychair.org/cfp/15thEureca2021) or email ([email protected]). Authors submit the manuscript and receive feedbacks from reviewers through Easychair. Reviewers have also provided their comments and feedback, retrieving manuscript or revised manuscript through Easychair platform. • Number of submissions received: 135 • Number of submissions sent for review: 135 • Number of submissions accepted: 43 • Acceptance Rate (Number of Submissions Accepted / Number of Submissions Received X 100): 98.5% • Average number of reviews per paper: 2 • Total number of reviewers involved: 59 • Any additional info on review process: In the review process, two reviewers from the same field were appointed to review the paper. The reviewers are from the background of Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Computing and IT. Reviewers can retrieve the manuscript and provide their feedback through Easychair platform. Feedback and comments from reviewers were sent back to the authors within 2 weeks through Easychair. The criteria in review include organization of paper and usage of language, objectives, theoretical framework, methodology, reported outcome and data analysis, educational or field significance, and use of relevant literature citations. An overall evaluation ranging from 1. Accept, 2. Accept with minor revision, 3. Conditional Accept with major revision, and 4. Reject was recommended by the reviewer. Based on the suggestions by reviewers, decision was then made and conveyed to the authors by the Secretariat team. The revised manuscript was then verified by the reviewers and Secretariat team for their final recommendation for submission. Similarity check has been carried out by using Turnitin software for all submissions. • Contact person for queries: Name : Dr. Oh Kai Siang Affiliation: Taylor’s University Email : [email protected]

The acquisition of a BSc in EEE is a requirement for a successful career in engineering. However, not all students in Bangladesh have the opportunity to gain admission into degree programmes. The aim of this research is to report the challenges that the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering faced in attracting students to the BSc in EEE programme, as well as how they assessed and evaluated the students. The research was a case study conducted in the fall semester of 2020 during the period of online education due to the COVID-2019 pandemic. Various examination and assessment tools were used for the student performance evaluation. Some of the statistical parameters like average, maximum and median were used for the comparative analysis of the student performances on online quizzes, assignments and the obtained letter grades of the regular and evening programmes. It was found that in most of the cases evening programme students performed better in the same course. Keywords: Diploma in Engineering, evening programme, online teaching–learning, performance assessment and evaluation.
