The rapidity with which the concept of job burnout has been incorporated into everyone's life is astonishing. During the two decades, many organizational members had been experienced job stresses. Because of chromic job stresses, they have fallen into job burnout. Generally speaking, Job burnout is a prolonged response to chronic emotional and interpersonal stressors on the job, and is defined by the three dimensions of emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and reduced personal accomplishment. But there are not enough studies about a profession outside human service. In this point of view, this study examines the effect of organizational member's job burnout on job performance and what are the major antecedents of job burnout. Also the present study is designed to test the moderating effect of supervisor's support, job discretion, and self-esteem on relationship between role overload and role conflict and members' job burnout.   The purposes of this study are as follows;  First of all, this study purposed to examine the factors which affect the organizational members’ job burnout.  Secondly, this study was to examine the effect of the members' job burnout on job performance. Thirdly, this study aimed to test moderating effect of supervisor's support, job discretion, and self-esteem on relationship between role overload and role conflict and the members' job burnout.  For the practical analysis, 100 structured questionnaires were distributed to Korean employees in Korean employees in Busan, and Gyeongnam, Korea. 100 questionnaires were distributed and 100 were returned. However, 3 questionnaires out of those returned were considered to be statistically valueless for analysis since some questions were left unanswered and some were clearly biased. Therefore, a total of 97 questionnaires were used for analysis. The collected data has been analyzed by using SPSS 12.0 for windows. The statistical techniques used in this study were descriptive analysis, reliability test, factor analysis, discriminate analysis, correlation analysis, multi regression analysis, and hierarchical regression analysis.  The major findings of the study are as follows;  First of all, role overload and role conflict are shown to be the major antecedents of job burnout, particularly of the exhaustion and disengagement components. Secondly, the disengagement of job burnout was related to lower levels of job performance.  Thirdly, moderating effect of supervisor's support on the relationship between role overload and the members of exhaustion was statistically significant. But moderating effect of job performance and self-esteem was not significant.

ABSTRACTThe present paper analyses the relationship between burnout and job performance. The burnout syndrome is considered as a response to chronic job stress that affect many professions, especially in case of professions that require working directly in contact with customers, clients or patients. This syndrome is mainly characterized by emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and low personal accomplishment at work. Previous studies show that burnout is a syndrome that tend to decrease individual performance and organizational productivity. In this context, the objective of this study is to analyze the relationship between burnout and job performance, and to study the influence of some characteristics associated with the position such as role ambiguity, role conflict, role overload and perceived supervisor support. To achieve this objective, the relationship between burnout and job performance was analyzed in a sample of 260 employees in the hotel industry. The correlation analysis and hierarchical regression analysis have been used as the main techniques for data analysis. The results obtained show the existence of a significant, negative two-way relationship between burnout and job performance. In addition, our findings underline the influence of role ambiguity, role conflict, role overload and supervisor support on the relationship between burnout and job performance. Practical implications and recommendations for future researches are discussed.RESUMENEste trabajo analiza la relación entre el síndrome de burnout y el rendimiento laboral. El síndrome de burnout es considerado como una respuesta al estrés laboral crónico que aparece en numerosas profesiones, especialmente en los trabajadores que se desempeñan su labor en contacto directo con usuarios, clientes o pacientes. Este síndrome se caracteriza principalmente por el agotamiento emocional, la despersonalización y baja realización personal en el trabajo. Los estudios existentes ponen de relieve que el burnout es un síndrome que afecta la productividad a nivel individual y a nivel de la organización en general. En este contexto, el objetivo de este estudio es analizar la relación entre el burnout y el rendimiento laboral y estudiar la influencia de algunas características asociadas al puesto como la ambigüedad de rol, conflicto de rol, sobre carga de rol y el apoyo de supervisor percibido. En este sentido, se analizó la relación entre burnout y rendimiento laboral en una muestra de 260 empleados del sector de hostelería. El análisis de correlaciones y el análisis de regresión jerárquica han sido utilizados como las principales técnicas de análisis de datos. Los resultados obtenidos ponen de manifiesto la existencia de una relación significativa, negativa y bidireccional entre el burnout y el rendimiento laboral. Además, se observan la influencia de la ambigüedad de rol, conflicto de rol, sobre carga de rol y el apoyo de supervisor en la relación entre el burnout y el rendimiento laboral. Finalmente, este estudio presenta algunas reflexiones y líneas futuras de investigación.

Purpose – The main purpose of this study is to explore the influence of self-esteem and role stress on job performance in the hotel businesses. Moreover, the research aims to discover which role stress factors, i.e. role ambiguity, role conflict and role overload, have the most detrimental effect on an employee’s role stress in the hotel businesses. Design/methodology/approach – To achieve the above aim, four sets of hypotheses were proposed: the first looked into the effect of role stress, which consists of role ambiguity, role conflict and role overload on job performance, and the second focused on the effect of employees’ self-esteem on job performance. A questionnaire was used and participants were drawn from 227 hotel employees in Kusadasi, Turkey. To empirically test these hypotheses, structural equation modeling was implemented. Findings – The outcome of the study indicated three patterns: role ambiguity and role conflict are negatively associated with job performance; role overload and self-esteem are positively associated with job performance; and role ambiguity creates more role stress than role conflict or overload. Practical implications – The research findings suggest that some practical methodology should be introduced to improve employees’ job performance and diminish role stress. For instance, hotel managers should decrease role ambiguity and conflict, employ personnel with high self-esteem and prioritize reducing role overload rather than reducing role ambiguity or role conflict. Originality/value – The research findings suggest that both role stress and self-esteem are important factors influencing job performance in hotel management. This paper aims to identify some important steps to increase job performance. Thus, our study should prove to be of great value to those in hotel management.

Flight dispatchers' role stressors and their consequential work-related strains and job satisfaction were investigated in this study, along with the moderating effect of self-efficacy on flight dispatchers' role stressors and strains, and on role stressors and job satisfaction. Data were collected from 309 flight dispatchers from 2 Chinese airlines. Correlations and hierarchical regressions revealed that the role stressors were all related to flight dispatchers' physical strain, psychological strain, and job satisfaction. The moderating effect of self-efficacy depends on the different role stressors and dependent variables being examined. Specifically, the moderating effect was found to be significant in the role conflict-psychological strain relationship, role conflict-job satisfaction relationship, and role overload-psychological strain relationship. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed.

The purpose of this study was to examine the burnout experienced by a sample of Greek teachers and to explore the extent to which certain organizational factors predict teachers' scores on the Maslach Burnout Inventory. The sample consisted of 100 teachers, 28 to 59 years of age. Greek teachers' means were lower than those for burnout of U.S. teachers. Stepwise regression analysis identified satisfaction with the job itself was the only significant predictor for Depersonalization and Emotional Exhaustion subscales, while satisfaction with the job itself and satisfaction with promotion were significant predictors for the Personal Accomplishment subscale. These findings showed that stress, e.g., role conflict and role ambiguity, were not highly correlated with teachers' burnout.

Working in law enforcement can be a trying experience that can result in work-family conflict. Work-family conflict occurs when the domains of work and home spill into one another, causing strain and conflict for a person. There are four major dimensions of work-family conflict: time-based, behaviour-based, strain-based and family-based. One consequence of being exposed to the stressor of work-family conflict over time is job burnout. Job burnout has three major dimensions: emotional exhaustion, depersonalisation and a reduced sense of personal accomplishment on the job. The current study explored the association between four types of work-family conflict with the three dimensions of burnout among Indian police officers. All four types of work-family conflict were positively related to emotional burnout. Time-based, behaviour-based and family-based conflict had significant positive associations with depersonalisation burnout and with reduced sense of personal accomplishment burnout.

Abstract Background and Aims Doctors are exposed to high levels of stress in their profession and are particularly susceptible to experiencing burnout. Rare disease researches are enlightening, with more workload to clinicians, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. We aim to explore the mental influence of participating in rare disease researches on clinicians. Method Doctors received electronic questionnaires regarding job-burnout in October 2020. The modified Maslach Burnout Inventory-General Survey (MBI-GS) was used to evaluate job burnout state. The MBI-GS consisting of three dimensions, emotional exhaustion (five questions), cynicism (five questions), and reduced personal accomplishment (six questions). The 7-grade Likert scale is adopted in each question, from 0 point (never) to 6 points (very frequently). Job burnout was considered if the average score of any dimension is no less than three.  Results Questionnaires from all 203 doctors were analysed in this study, with females (70.0%, n=140). Age ranging from 25 to 39, 40 to 54, and above 55 were 41.4%, 50.7%, 7.9%, respectively. Nearly half of the subjects (50.2%, n=102) fulfil the definition of job-burnout, which was fewer than that in the residency program (50.2% vs. 62.9%, p=0.02). An inappropriate evaluation system (36.0%) and lack of private time (35.5%) were the leading cause of job-burnout. The pressure of scientific researches (79.3%) and career promotion (58.1%) was the major source of mental pressure. Doctors who participated in rare disease researches (46.8%, n=95) did not show significant differences in burnout rate than individuals who did not (44.2% vs 55.6%, p=0.123), nor as in three dimensions (27.3% vs 36.1%, p=0.183 for emotional exhaustion, 21.1% vs 20.4%, p=0.905 for cynicism, 21.1% vs 27.8%, p=0.267 for reduced personal accomplishment). Logistic analysis revealed that high requirement from superior (22.5% vs 6.9%, p= 0.001), pressure from family (33.3% vs 17.8%, p=0.010), inappropriate job allocation (47.1% vs 29.7%, p= 0.019) as well as delayed off-work time (p=0.013) were independent risk factors of job-burnout. Physicians who participate in rare disease research had better job allocation (75.8% vs. 49.1%, p<0.001), but not in the other three risk factors.  Conclusion More workload did not increase the job-burnout of physicians participating in the rare disease research, which might be contributed by the appropriate job allocation.

Vocabulary is one of the English components that need to be mastered for acquiring writing and reading. Writing needs various vocabularies to build different sentences. Reading needs understanding of different meaning of vocabularies based on the context in the sentence. Hence, vocabulary is important in English language learning to support writing and reading. Regarding the importance of vocabulary, writing, and reading, the aim of this research is to test the effect of vocabulary mastery towards writing ability in English. It is also to test moderating effect of reading ability in strengthening or weakening the relation. This study used moderated regression analysis (MRA). Then, this research used the test as research instrument. The instruments had been valid and also reliable. Classical assumption tests were used before the research analysis. The samples were Management students of semester four and six. Descriptive analysis towards each variable is used to know students’ ability in English. To analyze the effect of independent variables towards dependent variable, it used linear regression analysis. To analyze moderating effect, it used moderating regression analysis. From this research result, it was proved that vocabulary had positive significant effect towards writing skill. Reading skill moderated the relation of vocabulary towards writing skill. Further research can focus on experimental research of vocabulary, writing, and reading.

Purpose: The authors examined the influence of self-esteem and role stress on job performance of technical college employees.Research design: two sets of hypotheses were proposed. The first accessed the effect of self-esteem on job performance and the second focused on role stress on job performance. Participants consisted of 162 employees drawn from technical teachers and workshop attendants in selected technical colleges in Rivers and Bayelsa states. Questionnaire was the research instrument for data collection. To test the hypotheses, Structural equation modeling (SEM), were implemented.Findings: The result of the study indicated that there is significant negative effect of self-esteem, Role ambiguity and role overload on job performance of employees in technical collegesPolicy implications: Findings in this research indicates that college authorities should focus efforts at boosting self-esteem, since high self-esteem causes many positive outcomes. The study would be very useful to employees and students of technical colleges.

This research has a purpose was to determine the effect of social support and burnout on police performance at Polrestabes Bandung both descriptively and verification consisting of simultaneous and partial. There is a population of 296 members of the Bandung Police Satsabhara Polrestabes and 75 respondent were abtained using the slovin method, using multiple linier regression analysis, classical assumption test, and hypothesis testing. which were tested using SPSS 25 for window application, and police performance are descriptive analysis, it is explained that social support, job burnout, and police performance are in the good category, the results of the verification analysis prove that social support significantly & positively affects police performance, while job burnout significantly & negatively affects police performance, then social support and job burnout simultaneously affect police performance.

<p>This study aimed at investigating the relationship between perfectionism and burnout. Moreover, the moderating effect of religious coping in this relationship was also investigated. The sample of the current study consisted of 210 physicians, with a reasonable mix of demographic characteristics, working in public and private health institutions in the greater Cairo Area. The data were obtained using a structured questionnaire to assess perfectionistic striving, perfectionistic concerns, religious coping and the three dimensions of job burnout, namely, emotional exhaustion, cynicism, and feelings of inefficacy. Significant correlations were obtained between perfectionism and burnout dimensions. However, the moderating effect of religious coping in the relationship between perfectionism and burnout was not obtained. These results were discussed in line with extant literature. Conclusion and policy implications were reported.</p>
