Dar al-Lughah Wa Dirasat al-Islamiyyah Pamekasan Islamic boarding school is an Arabic language development institutions which applies phonetics learning to students at the first grade. Phonetic learning is important in learning Arabic especially for listening skill. Arabic phonetics and listening skill are an inseparable unity. First graders need to learn phonetics to support their listening skills in learning Arabic. At Dar al-Lughah, this is taught using synthetic-analytical methods (al-thariqah al-tarkibiyyah al-tahliliyyah) as it is considered very effective. The results of observations, interviews, questionnaires and document examination through descriptive qualitative methods show that the use of synthetic-analtical method is very suitable for phonetics subject learning among first graders of Dar al-Lughah. Moreover, several media are used. One of with is schematic drawing of the face (rasm al-takhthithi li al-wajhi). However, some problems arise in the process of phonetics learning, including:1) First graders are not accustomed to recite any sounds of Arabic letters, words or sentences in good and right pronounciation.2) First graders find it difficult to harden the tongue in pronouncing some specific sounds of Arabic letters, especially those which do not exist in Indonesian language, 3) Most of first graders come from schools where they were not used to listen to Arabic letter pronunciation from native speakers.

We desperately need a good hearing in this life, because if we have a hearing disorder or just a little hearing loss then we will have difficulty in communicating with others. Many language teachers, especially Arabic, ignore the skill of listening lesson.With this research, can be known how far the effectiveness of MP3 usage in learning listening skills of Arabic language, to distinguish the sound of that language. By using the media players 3 (MP3), the researcher can carry out learning listening skill with a nice and fun with the evidence of the students who are more enthusiastic when following the lesson. This medium can only be effective for advanced students with 6% increase in outcomes, but for notice students who have the ability to think slowly it will be ineffective, as evidenced by a decline in value of -6,5%. It is due to the lack of students ability to listen to the voice of native speakers who tend to be fast, and also the dialect used by native speakers is different from the dialect they use every day.

The aim of the study was  to  analyze  and  describe  the  process of  improving students’ listening skill for eleventh grade students of MAN 1 Majene, West Sulawesi Province through  watching English movies. The subject of this research is XI Agama 2 Class that consisted of 16 students. The method used in this study is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which the writer works  collaboratively with the English teacher. The results in this study indicate that there  was  improvement of the students’ skill listening. Most of the students gradually gained good scores at the end of the cycle. The data were collected from a questionnaire, observation note of performance, pre-test and post-test. The study was conducted with cycle model through the steps of planning, conducting, observation, and reflection. The results of this study show a significant relationship between students' learning by English movie with delay subtitle related to their listening skills as shown in their improvement of post- test and positive responses of students than  E nglish movie  with not delay. The questionnaire shows that more than 75% students felt easy to understand listening materials from native speakers. Consequently, it was suggested that teaching learning process using English movie with English subtitle is recommended  into  learning  process  to  improve students' listening skills in English language classroom. In conclusion, watching English movie can improve students listening skill.

This study aimed at presenting need analysis results related to listening skill problems encountered by the students of SMP N 5 Ngawen, Gunungkidul and the format of English audio media for teaching listening skills which was conducted between March till April 2018. There were 50 students, two practisioners, and two native speakers involved in this study.  The data were collected by using two kinds of instruments namely questionnaires and an interview guide. The results showed that: (1) the language ability of the students were relatively low although 92% of the students had learned English since they were in the kindergarten or elementary schools; (2) 58% students considered that listening was the most difficult skills among the three other skills (reading, writing, speaking); (3) the listening problems faced by the students were categorized into three aspects, namely: the content aspects, the environment aspects, and the learner aspects. The first aspect included vocabularies, sentences/expressions, pronunciation, the length of the texts, and the speed in reading the scripts. The second aspect is about the environment/atmosphere aspect included namely the quality of the audio programmes; facilities, and noise. The third was the learner aspects namely the sub-skills of listening comprehension. Moreover, there were some information related to the technical aspects namely the ideal duration of an audio program and the format of the English audio media. In fact, the results of the research could be used as a guidance in designing a model of English audio media for improving listening skills among the target students. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan informasi mengenai permasalahan pembelajaran menyimak (listening) dan kebutuhan pembelajaran listening pada siswa SMPN 5 Ngawen, Gunungkidul. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Maret-April 2018 dengan metode pengumpulan data berupa kuesioner dan wawancara. Sampel diambil dengan teknik simple random sampling yang melibatkan 50 responden siswa. Selain itu, diperoleh juga informasi terkait hal teknis misalnya durasi audio dan format sajian media. Secara umum, hasil analisis kebutuhan ini dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pedoman dalam menyusun rancangan model media audio pembelajaran listening untuk siswa SMP pada tahapan kedua dalam proses pengembangan desain instruksional, yaitu tahapan desain.

<p>This paper shows the qualitative study of the employment of websites to practice English listening skills of students. The samples in this survey were the students majoring in English, one of school education, Pontianak, Indonesia. The open-ended questionnaire and interview were used to compile the data. The study reported that the students held a positive attitude toward the use of the websites for practicing listening skills because of many advantages such as the websites offer unlimited opportunities to learn and practice their listening skill as if they are in the real situation with native speakers and these opportunities provided them more new English vocabularies. Moreover, it can facilitate them to create autonomous learning strategies. It was also found that it was so convenient when using the internet sites for practicing listening skills outside classroom and from book, anywhere and anytime. However, the students experienced a problem with the native speaker accent so they could not understand the conversation.</p>

Listening is one of the most important skills in learning arabic. Listening skill is the ability to listen to arabic words or sentences arabic and express them back from whas was heard. According to the observation result, the students at MAN 3 Aceh Selatan are weak in the learning of listening. The purpos of this study is to find out how the efforts teachers to increase the ability of students in listening skill. The research method used in this research is method qualitative-analysis. Data collection technique is to conduct interviews.The research subject was arabic language teachers at MAN 3 Aceh Selatan. As for the data analysis techniques in this study using Miles and Hubberman’stheories, are data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclution of data. The results of this study are the efforts of teachers in improving students listening skills at MAN 3 Aceh Selatan are by giving vocabularies to memorize making it easier for students to understand the material, and using the variety of learning methods, learning models and media so as to improve students attention in learning listening skills. The teacher uses the listening and revealed method and the teacher uses the media including songs, chain murders, cards, pictures, and cartoon films. The teachers gives motivation to students to increase enthusias and interes students.

Modern Islamic Boarding School Darussalam Gontor for girls 2, seeks to succeed in teaching and learning of languages by preparing special movers in language teaching for student known as the OPPM Language enhancement section. It is this section that seeks to improve language in the process of teaching and learning by establishing discipline and conducting various language activities, the new students of this lodge experience difficulties in learning the language and the acquisition because of differences in background of learning goals, lack of language knowledge and lack of confidence in the use of language which is due to fear of being wrong and lacking in fluency, in this case the OPPM language seeks to resolve this problem. This study is classified as descriptive qualitative research using case study design at Modern Islamic boarding school Darussalam Gontor for girls 2, Technique of data collection in this research include observation, interview and documentation. The data should be examined by using triangulation.  Based on the results of the analysis of the researchers seen various kinds of problems experienced by the first class and can be drawn two conclusions as follows: 1. Problematic learning arabic language for first grade students: 1) Difficulties  in using Arabic because it comes from areas with different dialect 2) Problems in pronunciation are triggered by fear of mistakes and ridicule and lack of language knowledge. 3) Difficulties in Arabic pronunciation due to the lack of vocabulary treasury. From what experienced first grade student a problem of language learning, then the OPPM language section trying to solve. 2. Efforts undertaken by the language part in solving this problematic  as follows: 1) Holding an official language motivation program to enrich the knowledge of the language of first class students 2) Conduct inter-group dialogue to train in using language with friends without fear. 3) Through Muhadatsah morning program and instructing student to memorize in order to establish vocabulary in the mind of student. 4) Holding interesting language activities to avoid boredom and language learning and instill a sense of language. 5) Listening to a language song to train good hearing and understanding of the language being heard. The result of this study explained on the problematics of learning Arabic language for first grade students, researchers noticed that this study still has many shortcomings and expect that the OPPM language enchancement section can perform the obligations as well as possible by varying the activities of language with which facilitate student in language learning, as well as advising each other about the activities of the language that runs in the Tent and keep the language intensive. And to the next researcher who will discuss the same discussion of this discussion, to research as well as possible and to complete the shortcomings and can write more fully and for the results of writing can be better.

ملخص البحث:تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى عرض الخبرة السابقة في تعليم المفردات والتراكيب والجمل  باستخدام الصور التعليمية للطلبة الناطقين بغير العربية، وأن الصور التعليمية تؤدي دورا كبيرا في تدريب الطلبة على التعبير الحر والتعبير المقيد، وتهدف إلى ذكر خطوات التدريس المتبعة التي يرى فيها الباحثان نجاح برنامج الخبرة السابقة بصورة مقنعة، وأن الطلبة قادرون على التعبير عن الصور المدروسة بصورة مقبولة جدا ومناسبة بمستواهم التعليمي والعمري. ومن نتائج هذه الدراسة أن ثمة ضرورة في تعليم اللغة العربية للناطقين بغيرها عن طريق الصور التعليمية؛وأهمية دور المعلم في مناقشة المفردات، ووصف الصورة، ويتعلم الدارسون مهارة الاستماع عن طريق مناقشة المعلم شفاهة، ويتعلم الدارسون مهارة الكلام عبر الممارسة اللغوية التي يقومون بها في الأنشطة التعليمية.الكلمات المفتاحية: فرضية الدراسة-الصور التعليمية-التجربة-التدريس-الكتابةAbstract:This research aims to present previous experiences in teaching vocabularies and structural sentences with the usage of pictures to the non - native students of Arabic. The use of  pictures has a significant role in training students in making expressions. The research also aims to point out  the teaching steps that were successful in the view of the two researchers as students were able to make expressions based on the pictures in an accepted way and in the manner suitable to their level of studies and age. The findings of this research show that there is a necessity in teaching non - native speakers of Arabic Language with the use of pictures. The role of teachers in discussing vocabularies and explaining the pictures is also highly significant since the students will be able to acquire listening skills from the discussion of the teacher verbally. Furthermore, they also will be able to learn conversation skills by practicing the language in the activities that are carried out.Keywords: Hypothesis of the research – Pictures – Experiment –Teaching – WritingAbstrak:Kajian ini bertujuan mendedahkan pengalaman dalam pengajaran kosa kata serta ayat-ayat dalam bahasa Arab dengan menggunakan gambar-gambar pendidikan kepada pelajar bukan penutur berbahasa Arab. Sesungguhnya gambar-gambar pendidikan memainkan peranan besar dalam melatih pelajar tentang pernyataan bebas serta pernyataan berkait. Kajian ini juga bertujuan menyatakan langkah-langkah pengajaran yang diikuti yang dilihat oleh para pengkaji sebagai berjaya dan berkesan. Para pelajar didapati berupaya mengemukakan pernyataan tentang gambar-gambar yang telah dipelajari dengan baik bersesuaian dengan tahap pembelajaran dan usia masing-masing. Antara dapatan kajian ialah terdapat keperluan terhadap cara pengajaran bahasa Arab kepada bukan penutur berbahasa Arab dengan menggunakan gambar pendidikan, kepentingan peranan guru dalam membincangkan kosa kata dan menerangkan gambar di mana pelajar dapat menguasai kemahiran mendengar melalui perbincangan secara lisan, seterusnya menguasai kemahiran bertutur melalui amalan bahasa semasa melaksanakan aktiviti-aktiviti pengajaran.Kata kunci: hipotesis kajian – gambar-gambar pendidikan – pengalaman – pengajaran - penulisan
