<p>In mathematics learning, the learning outcomes that are most often measured are the cognitive outcomes because they can be used in evaluating students’ achievement in the things they have learned. This research aimed to see whether the implementation of a drill method can improve the learning outcomes. The method used in this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) using Kemmis &amp; McTaggart’s model. This research was done in two cycles at a Christian junior high school in Rantepao in October 2016. The subjects were grade 9 students at the school. The instruments used in this research were mentor and peer observations, student’s questionnaire, and tests. The research concluded that the implementation of the drill method improved the cognitive learning outcomes of grade 9 students at the school.</p><p><strong></strong><strong>ABSTRAK BAHASA INDONESIA: </strong>Dalam pelajaran matematika, hasil belajar yang paling sering diukur adalah hasil belajar kognitif karena itu dapat dijadikan bahan evaluasi untuk mengetahui pencapaian siswa akan hal yang sudah dipelajari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat apakah penerapan metode drill dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Kemmis dan Taggart. Penelitian dilakukan di SMP Kristen Rantepao pada kelas IX pada Oktober 2016 dalam dua siklus. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu lembar observasi mentor dan teman sejawat, lembar angket siswa, dan tes. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode drill dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas IX materi Statistika di SMP Kristen Rantepao.</p>

Natural Science Education aims to help learners to be able to understand the natural surroundings include process, facts and principles that exist in nature. One of the aspects that support the success of understanding science and the process of learning science is the application of science literacy. The study was aimed to determine the effect of Biology in Context learning on cognitive learning outcome of junior high school student grade VIII in science subject. The research was conducted in Bekasi State Junior High School 2 at the first semester of the 2018/2019. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with a total sample 72 students obtained through the calculation of Slovin formula. The method used is the experimental method, non equivalent control group design. Data collection is done with the instruments of students cognitive learning outcomes. The analysis prerequisite test used is the normality test using Kolmogorov-Smirnov and the homogeneity test using Levene test. Hypothesis tested with the t test and the normalized gain value test. Based on the results of hypothesis test, there is the influence of Biology in context learning on the student cognitive learning outcome. Biology in context learning can improve student cognitive learning outcomes better than guided inquiry learning, which is equal to 66.4% or 0.45 in the calculation using normalized gain.

The purpose of this study is to produce a valid, practical, and effective learning video that can improve cognitive learning outcomes for grade VIII students of Public Junior High School 5 Malang on the Prism dan Pyramid Volume material. The development model used is ADDIE (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation).  The quality of the resulting learning video meets the following criteria: a) valid, with an averange score of 3,38 by material experts and media experts; b) practical, with an averange score of teacher response questionnaires and student response questionnaires of 3,50; c) effective, with an averange score of student learning test results of 83,75 and has met the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) at Public Junior High School 5 Malang, namely 78. Thus, it can be conclude that the learning videos developed are valid, practical, and effective to improve cognitive learning outcomes of grade VIII Students of Public Junior High School 5 Malang on prism and pyramid volume material.

<p class="abstrak"><span>Learning outcomes are student’s responsibility after learning something. Furthermore, it is very important to achieve national education goals. This research is based on the students’ low cognitive learning outcomes. As evidenced by students’ scores, most of them have not been able to achieve the 60 KKM set in mathematics lessons and they lack practice and accuracy in doing mathematical problems. Because of students’ low cognitive learning outcomes, the researcher applied the drill method to overcome this problem and to understand how the implementation of the drill method increases students' cognitive learning outcomes. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) by Kemmis and McTaggart which was carried out from July to October 2017 in three cycles. The subjects were 21 students of grade 7C at A Junior High School in Sentani. The instruments used in this research were written test sheets, observation sheets, student questionnaires, and interview guidelines. To process the quantitative data, the researcher used descriptive statistical analysis while qualitative data used descriptive qualitative. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that the implementation of the drill method does improve students' cognitive learning outcomes in the set material with the percentage of students who reached the KKM in the first, second and third cycle being 52%, 71%, and 86% respectively. Besides implementing the drill method steps, this research also conducted the following: (1) reviewing the material, (2) giving motivation, (3) emphasizing important concepts, (4) checking students' understanding, (5) involving all students working on a variety of questions, (6) guiding students with difficulties, (7) correcting individual and classical mistakes, and (8) reminding students of time and thoroughness.</span></p><p class="abstrak"><strong>BASAHA INDONESIA ABSTRACT: </strong>Hasil belajar merupakan tanggung jawab siswa setelah melakukan kegiatan pembelajaran. Selain itu, hasil belajar sangat penting dalam ketercapaian tujuan pendidikan nasional. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar kognitif siswa. Hal tersebut terlihat dari nilai-nilai yang diperoleh siswa, sebagian besar siswa belum mampu mencapai KKM 60 pada pelajaran Matematika, serta kurangnya latihan dan ketelitian siswa dalam mengerjakan soal-soal Matematika. Berdasarkan fakta rendahnya hasil belajar kognitif siswa, maka peneliti menerapkan metode drill untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut dan mengetahui penerapan metode drill dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan model Kemmis dan McTaggart yang dilaksanakan pada Juli sampai Oktober 2017 dalam tiga siklus. Subyek penelitian adalah 21 siswa kelas VII C pada suatu SMP di Sentani. Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini berupa lembar tes tertulis, lembar observasi, lembar angket siswa, dan pedoman wawancara. Pengolahan data kuantitatif pada penelitian ini menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif sedangkan data kualitatif menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode drill dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa pada materi himpunan dengan persentase siswa yang mencapai KKM pada siklus I, II dan III sebesar 52%, 71%, dan 86%. Selain melaksanakan langkah-langkah metode drill, pada penelitian ini juga dilakukan hal-hal sebagai berikut: (1) mereview materi, (2) memberikan motivasi, (3) menekankan konsep penting, (4) mengecek pemahaman siswa, (5) melibatkan seluruh siswa mengerjakan soal yang bervariasi, (6) membimbing siswa yang mengalami kesulitan, (7) memperbaiki kesalahan secara individual dan klasikal, serta (8) mengingatkan siswa tentang waktu dan ketelitian. </p>

<p>The problem faced by the students in grade IX-B SMP XYZ in Sentani, Papua is the low achievement of cognitive learning, especially in math. Factors affecting low cognitive achievement are internal and external. Seeing the problem at hand, the researcher tried to solve it by using student worksheets as a medium to improve cognitive learning outcomes. The purpose of the research is to determine whether there is an increase in cognitive achievements of students using student worksheets and to know how to use the student worksheet to help the students achieve the cognitive learning outcomes.  The research methodology used was Class Action Research (CAR) that lasted for two cycles. The research was carried out in grade IX-B at XYZ Junior High School in Sentani, Papua from August 26, 2015 until November 13, 2015. The research instruments used were student assesment worksheets, written test sheets, observation sheets, questionnaire sheets, and interview sheets. Based on the results of the research, using student worksheets has not improved the cognitive learning outcomes of the students between cycle 1 and cycle 2. There was a decline in the percentage of cognitive learning outcomes of students in the second dimension of the cognitive process (understanding). However, the results suggest that the overall use of student worksheets can improve the cognitive learning process of students.</p><p><em><em>BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRAK:</em>  </em><em>Permasalahan yang ada pada peserta didik kelas IX-B SMP XYZ Sentani, Papua adalah rendahnya pencapaian hasil belajar kognitif khususnya pelajaran matematika. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi rendahnya hasil belajar kognitif berasal dari dalam dan luar diri peserta didik. Dari permasalahan yang ada, maka diberikan solusi dengan menerapkan penggunaan lembar kerja siswa (LKS) sebagai media pembelajaran dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat peningkatan hasil belajar kognitif peserta didik melalui penggunaan media lembar kerja siswa (LKS) dan untuk mengetahui cara penggunaan media lembar kerja siswa (LKS) dalam membantu peserta didik mencapai hasil belajar kognitif. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang berlangsung selama dua siklus. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMP XYZ Sentani, Papua kelas IX-B tanggal 26 Agustus 2015 hingga 13 November 2015. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa lembar penilaian LKS, lembar tes tertulis, lembar observasi, lembar angket, dan lembar wawancara. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, penggunaan media lembar kerja siswa belum dapat meningkatkan pencapaian hasil belajar kognitif peserta didik dari siklus 1 ke siklus 2. Terjadi penurunan presentase pencapaian hasil belajar peserta didik pada dimensi proses kognitif kedua (memahami). Akan tetapi secara keseluruhan penggunaan LKS dapat meningkatkan proses belajar kognitif peserta didik.</em></p><p><strong><br /></strong></p>

The research aimed to determine the effect off Problem Based Learning in science learning on cognitive outcomes of 7th grade at junior high school on the topic of water pollution. This research is an experimental research. The research sample was selected by random sampling technique. The research data was collected through pre-test and post-test using cognitive learning outcome instruments. Analysis data using t-test. The results showed the Problem Based Leearning significantly improved on cognitive outcome this can be seen from the increase in the post-test in the experimental group compared to the control group (74.43>68.23). Based on the resultd of these studies indicate that the use of Problem Based Learning affectes the learning of science on the cognitive outcomes of 7th grade at junior high school on the topic of water pollution.

This research was aimed to find out the process of activities in an effort to improve mastery of understanding integer operations through the PAIKEM technique The Power Of Two (strength of two peoples) in class VII A Junior High School 3 Kubu. Mastery of understanding integer operations by students in mathematics learning is still low, so that the learning was unpleasant and uninteresting. Therefore, we need a learning technique that is able to improve mastery of understanding by students so that it can also improve learning outcomes. The method used is the method of discussion. Results of this study are indicated by an increase in mastery of understanding integer operating material by students in learning. In the first cycle of meeting 1 obtained 60.25%, and meeting 2 obtained 62.73%. In the second cycle meeting 1 obtained 79.87% and meeting 2 obtained 79.50% with the mastering category.

The study aims to determine whether the mathematics learning outcomes of students who learn discovery learning are better than students who learn conventionally. It also aims to find out whether the mathematics learning outcomes of students with high initial abilities and low initial abilities with discovery learning are better than students who learn conventionally. This type of research is a Quasi Experiment with quantitative approach design and used was a randomized control group only design with treatment by blocks. The population in this study were students of class VII  Islamic private junior high school or MTsS Darussalam Ampiang Parak, Sutera Sub District, Pesisir Selatan. The research sample was randomly selected,namely students of class VII.1 as the experimental class and VII.2 as the control class. The research data were obtained from the results of the initial ability test and the final test given after the experiment was carried out. Data analysis using t test.The results of the analysis show that: 1) The mathematics learning outcomes of students with discovery learning model are better than those taught by conventional learning, 2) Mathematics learning outcomes of students with high initial abilities and students with low initial abilities with discovery learning learning models of learning arebetter than students with high initial abilities. taught by conventionallearning. Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas VIII SMP melalui penerapan strategi pembelajaran kreatif-produktif. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Data yang dikumpulkan dari penelitian adalah hasil tes dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata diperoleh siswa pada siklus I sebesar 48,68 dengan ketuntasan klasikal belajar sebsar 71,42 dan pada siklus II nilai rata-rata sebesar 64,34 dengan ketuntasan klasikal belajar sebsar 78,12%. Sedangkan aktivitas siswa pada siklus I pertemuan pertama menghasilkan rata-rata 8,4 dan pertemuan kedua dengan rata-rata sebesar 10,2, kemudian pada siklus II pertemuan pertama dengan rata-rata 11,6 dan pada pertemuan kedua dengan rata-rata 15,4. Hasil penelitian menujukkan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar matematika melalui strategi pembelajaran kreatif-produktif pada materi operasi aljabar kelas VIII SMP.Abstract:  The purpose of this study was to improve the mathematics learning outcomes of eighth grade students of Junior High School through the application of creative-productive learning strategies. This type of research is classroom action research (CAR). Data collected from research are test results and observations. The results showed that the average value obtained by students in the first cycle was 48.68 with the classical completeness of learning was 71.42 and in the second cycle the average score was 64.34 with the classical completeness of learning was 78.12%. While the activities of students in the first cycle of the first meeting produced an average of 8.4 and the second meeting with an average of 10.2, then in the second cycle the first meeting with an average of 11.6 and at the second meeting with an average of 15, 4. The results of the study showed an increase in mathematics learning outcomes through creative-productive learning strategies in algebraic operating material in eighth grade students of Junior High School.

Abstract. Natural Science learning that took place 9H class at Pakusari State Junior High School in 2018/2019 still did not get the results desired, this is because the learning model used was not optimal to achieve student learning outcomes in accordance with the Curriculum Target. The formulation of the problem in this study are (1) How the Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) learning model can improve the learning outcomes of inheritance science material in 9H grade students of Pakusari State Junior High School in Jember 2018/2019 academic year. The data obtained in this study include the average evaluation learning outcomes for the first cycle that is 83.94, for the second cycle that is 85, the evaluation results can be seen that there is a significant increase in the average student learning outcomes from Cycle I to Cycle II, which is 1.05. This shows that in the first cycle students' learning completeness has not been achieved that is equal to 89.47%, while in the second cycle increased to 92.10% which suadah fulfill the minimum completeness of 75 and the average grade set is 85, the second cycle shows an increase of 1.05. Thus in the second cycle has reached the target, that learning the STAD Coopetive Learning type can improve the results of mathematics learning achievement. Keywords: STAD, IPA results
