This study has the aim of describing the types and factors of student errors in solving Social Arithmetic story problems in terms of Keirsey's personality type based on Polya's error analysis. This research includes qualitative descriptive research. The research instrument was questioned for classifying Keirsey's personality types, questions about Social Arithmetic stories, and interview guidelines. The technical analysis of the data carried out includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that misunderstandings of seven problems were made by Artisan, Rational, and Idealist subjects. Artisan and rational subjects did not write what is known and asked in the problem completely. In the Idealist subject, write down what is asked in the question, but it is not quite right. Planning errors were made by the four personality type subjects, where they were not able to properly arrange the completion steps. Errors in carrying out the plan were made by the four personality type subjects, where the Guardian subject did not complete the completion step and miscalculated. Artisan and Idealist subjects did not write down the solution formula. At the same time, the Rational subject did not write conclusions and formulas in several steps of completion. Re-checking errors were carried out by the four personality type subjects, where the Guardian, Artisan, Rational, and Idealist subjects got the final result but were wrong. Rational subjects also do not perform calculations when checking again. On the other hand, the Idealist subject does not re-examine the solution obtained. Mathematics is a subject that has the concept of interrelation between one material with another. Understanding the interrelated material required the existence of a basic ability that is the ability to connect mathematics. The obstacle experienced by students is that when given a problem and the solution is related to the previous material, students are unable to remember the material that is the key to solving the problem. The inability of students is due to lack of memory of previous material and students pay less attention when the teacher is explaining in class. Personality differences make students have different mathematical connection abilities. The purpose of this study is to describe the ability of students' mathematical connections in terms of sanguinis, koleris, melancholy, and plegmatic personality types. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study in the form of case study research. Methods of data collection used personality type questionnaires, math connection test questions, and interviews. The results showed that the sanguinis and plegmatic personality types were able to meet all the connection indicators. Koleris personality type is able to fulfill 4 indicators. Melancholy personality types produce different connection capabilities, namely the ability of connections that meet 4 indicators and 1 indicator. This research can provide benefits for students to improve their mathematical connections and understand their personality types. Students who understand their personality types can minimize negative traits that inhibit mathematical connections.

As part of 21st-century skills, communication is an essential skill for students. Students' mathematical communication tends to below, one of which is influenced by students' self-confidence. For this reason, the purpose of this study is to describe the mathematical communication skills in solving circle problems based on students' self-confidence. Determining the subject using purposive sampling technique, namely from 36 students of class VIII SMP in Madiun, East Java, Indonesia, obtained two subjects with high self-confidence (SCT) and one subject with low self-confidence (SCR). A qualitative descriptive approach was used in this study. Tests and interviews were used as data collection techniques. Data were analyzed through reduction, presentation, and concluding. The results of this study include: SCT is capable while SCR is less able to meet the indicators of mathematical communication skills both in writing and orally at the stages of understanding problems, implementing plans, and checking back; and SCT can meet mathematical communication indicators both written and oral, while SCR is less able to meet written mathematical communication indicators but can verbally at the stage of planning completion. The level of self-confidence of students differentiates their mathematical communication skills in solving problems. Thus, a teacher needs to design an appropriate question to train students' mathematical communication skills with low self-confidence.
