The relevance of the topic of food apportionment and the Antonov’s uprising is explained by the centenary of these events and the preservation of different approaches and opinions among historians on these issues. It is important to study the northern and western districts of the Tambov Governorate, which did not take a significant part in the Antonov’s uprising, since unde-servedly little attention is devoted to this topic. The main objectives of the study are to analyze the economic and economic situation in the “non-insurgent” counties in the context of their comparison with the southern counties (Tambovsky, Kirsanovsky and Borisoglebsky Counties) on the eve of the Tambov uprising of 1920–1921. To solve the set tasks, statistical information was used on the natural growth of the population, the size of cultivated areas, crop yields, etc. The significance of the work lies in the fact that the study adds more factual material about the reasons for the low level of social aggression among the peasantry of the northern and western counties on the eve of the insurrectionary movement in the Tambov Governorate.

The salinity of a Brown Chernozem under four irrigation regimes was measured at the beginning and end of each of two cycles of a 4-yr crop rotation. Irrigation reduced soil salinity during the first cycle and maintained it at the reduced level during the second cycle. Drainage in 4 yr, calculated on the basis of salt balances, increased proportionately to irrigation plus rainfall. Where only enough water was applied to maximize crop yields, that is, where soil moisture was maintained within the upper half of the available range, about 95% of the irrigation plus rainfall was utilized by the crops through evapotranspiration. Under this regime, maximum crop yields and an adequately low level of soil salinity were maintained.

As the liberal transformation of healthcare in Russia is realized, the professional motivations manufacturers of medical services change, more than 70% of which indicate an unfair treatment of patients by them, as well as a low level of social and legal protection. Among a significant part of medical service providers, in the structure of motivations, external motivations begin to gain weight, and internal motivations tend to weaken. Among professional motivations, the desire to avoid criticism from the head or colleagues, as well as the desire to avoid possible punishments, is of paramount importance.

Gold is one of the investment commodities whose value continues to increase from year to year. The rise in gold prices will encourage investors to choose to invest in gold rather than the capital market. Investment in gold gives better results for the long term and with better purchasing power, so gold investment is an effective solution considering the value of money annually eroded by inflation. Such a state of economic instability is what drives many people, organizations and companies to invest in gold precious metals. Factors influencing the rise or fall of gold price according to Riefiyono (2010) are change of exchange rate (dollar exchange rate to rupiah), world political situation, domestic economic situation, and interest rate.   The method used in this case is K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) is a method that uses In the training phase, this algorithm only retains feature vectors and sample training data classification. In the classification phase, the same features are calculated for testing data (whose classification is unknown).   The results obtained are successfully made an application for the prediction of gold prices by utilizing the method of Nearest Neighbor Retrieval. This application can help users in knowing the gold price prediction results are expensive or cheap with views in terms of economic situation, interest rates, political situation, and changes in exchange rates.

Specifics of perception of political issues by Russian Youth and value grounds for their political behavior are analyzed in this article. The analysis is based on the sociological research data of 2018 and 2019. It is shown that political culture demonstrates the presence of mutually exclusive positions for a number of reasons. Low level of trust to the power practically do not correlate with evaluation of social-economic and political situation in Russia, do not provoke new forms of civil activity , what allows to make a conclusion about high degree of the political culture continuity, where group of nominal oppositionists demonstrating low level of trust to the power is not significant.

The paper presents the strategies of Middle East and North African countries in coping with COVID-19 pandemic in the first months of spring/summer 2020. It offers a categorisation of strategies basing on the available assets the countries have and political situation. According to this categorisation there are countries in which the pandemic is one more burden to bear that makes the current political or economic situation even worse (countries torn by war or serious internal social conflicts); countries that cope with the pandemic as good as it gets – taking their institutional capacities (Egypt and Morocco); the too rich to fail category of GCC countries, and two possible success stories (by that time Jordan and Tunisia).

Kolts of the Kyivan Rus era is a Ukrainian goldsmiths' brand, personification of the highest achievements of artistic thought of the then jewelers, behind which you can feel the huge inner spiritual culture of the masters and their professional impeccable knowledge of materials and techniques. At the same time, the ability of Kyivan Rus authors to crystallize their own domestic style is striking. Its special refinement indicates the deep knowledge the local people had of the best creative achievements of the artistic ecumene, awareness of many of the then fashionable trends of jewelry art in Europe and the East. Currently a significant part of the available artifacts from the heritage of jewelers of the Kyivan Rus era requires verification. After all, using a low level of provenance, individual collections announce fake or “modified” or reconstructed kolts to be the real pre-Ukrainian ones. In this regard, the factors of professional art history attribution are extremely important, though they are not widely used in the circles of archeologists, historians, and local history museum specialists.

Community of fishermen is one of social segments who considered as having daily life worse than other social segments, such as farmers, factory labourers, etc. Certain efforts can be done to improve the level of life of the fishermen, i.e to increase their production of fish. The way which can be done is by improving the unit of productive assets so that it can increase motivation of the fishermen for better behavior. Recently fishermen are not able to go out from their miserable socio economic situation, mainly due to (a) bargaining position weakness, (b) lacking of capital, (c) low level of knowledge and skill, (d) lacking of supervision, (e) no guarantee of promising market. Based on those evidence it is worth to study the relationship between fishermen motivation and their behavior to increase production of fish.

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to analyse consumers whose identity is not based on appearance-related consumption, but who want distance themselves from consumers willing to spend on physical appearance. The article examines importance of gender, age and place of residence in explaining self-evaluated low-level consumption of beauty care and clothing, and how the proportions of these consumers have changed between socio-demographic groups. The data consists of three cross-sectional consumption and lifestyle surveys collected in 1999 (N = 2 417), 2004 (N = 3 574) and 2009 (N = 1 202). The results suggest that a significant part of Finnish consumers do not consider beauty care or clothing consumption to be a part of their identity. The results indicate some temporal changes in Finnish consumers’ beauty care consumption evaluations. It seems that gender differences have been relatively stable, whereas disparities between consumers of different ages as well as urban and rural consumers have diminished.

The article analyses the political situation in Abkhazia in 2017, namely, the activities of the government and the opposition, parliamentary elections, their results and the power balance in the new legislative body. It also studies the existence of the third force, which is a topical issue in Abkhazian society. The author examines the grave socio-economic situation in the Republic this year, which continues to worsen, and comes to the conclusion that the reasons for this deterioration are the failure of the tourist season and catastrophic Abkhazian reputation losses. Besides, the article scrutinizes the main problems in Russian-Abkhazian relations, the aggravation of the crime situation in Abkhazia, the current church footing (splits in church congregations) and issue regarding the Gali residents’ status.
